“Hello Thyroid”

by Dianne Trussell, BSc Hons, science & health educator & writer

How often do we think about our thyroid glands? Probably only when something goes wrong. Me too, but looking back, ever since puberty or earlier, my thyroid gland has probably been a little bit sluggish. Not pathological, just ‘not firing on all cylinders’. I used to need a lot of sleep, feel the cold, had cold hands and feet, poor digestion, put on weight easily which I found difficult to shift, plus my hormones were out of balance… these are all signs associated with low-ish thyroid activity. Ironically I had enormous amounts of energy for my high levels of physical and mental activity, from waking to bed-time, in contradiction to the pattern of low thyroid, which usually goes with poor energy levels. I was evidently getting my energy from somewhere else – and in retrospect I’d say it was nervous energy that kept me going.

Seemingly unconnected to these low thyroid signs, I did not want to eat broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower or beans. Something in my body didn’t want them, and I did not like the smell or taste of these foods, so it was easy for me to not eat them. That is still true today, and they make my body very uncomfortable for a few days if I consume them.

Fast forward to recently when I discovered that these foods are known to suppress thyroid function! So for me (not necessarily everyone) with my low-ish thyroid, they may not be suitable as regular dietary choices. Obviously my body knew this, even way back as a child, maybe even before scientific research brought us this information.

Apart from the continuous confirmation that our bodies really do know what’s right and not right for them, there is more to this thyroid story than the scientifically known chemistry and physiology.

A recent experience really expanded my understanding of how choices and energy impact the physical well-being and medical conditions of the body. Not long ago I felt as if my energy had drained out through the floor. I was tired all the time, falling asleep sitting at my computer by mid-morning, needing naps during the day, could barely manage a fraction of my normal activities, and trying to push myself to keep going only made it worse. This was so ‘not me’! What’s wrong with me? There were lots of ‘suspects’, such as an enduring parasite that was inflaming my intestines, a degenerate lower spine in pain all the time and headaches. These things made me feel drained and cranky about not being able to do all the things or work at the racehorse pace that I used to and felt I wanted to. But those other symptoms had been going on well before this abnormal bout of extreme tiredness – a level extreme by comparison with anything that had gone before.

My doctor had the inspiration to test my thyroid function. That’s a normal, appropriate response by the doctor – medicine sees the correlation of low energy and low thyroid. But modern medicine doesn’t take it deep enough, because ‘causes’ can just be the effects of something even earlier. My thyroid had tested as being at the low end of normal about 3 years before. But now it showed as abnormally low. My doctor was very concerned, and wanted to put me on thyroid drugs for the rest of my life. Now that option is not one I usually take up straight away, and I’ll try every other less invasive option first. So I asked her to give me a month, then we’d re-test and take it from there.

I wanted to get to the bottom of the cause of my low thyroid. I researched the literature and found plenty of physical causes, most of which I could rule out in my present situation. Regarding energy causes, theories abound, but what is true?

One spiritual new age theory is that thyroid problems are related to how we express.

Now for some scientific testing of that theory! Is low or suppressed thyroid anything to do with low or suppressed expression? Let’s see if there’s a correlation. However it’s important to be aware that even if there is, it might not be a causal relationship. When I got home from the doctor I ‘tuned into myself’, and asked myself this question: “In what ways have I been allowing my expression to be suppressed?”

This ‘inner experiment’ would be called unscientific by the mainstream. But the mainstream is missing a lot of truth and only has a part of the picture. I decided to be totally honest with myself, as truth is very important to me. I discovered that a ‘biggie’ blocking my expression is an old pattern: speak truth – get slammed; see truth and expose that which is uncomfortable for someone else – get attacked; stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy – get rejected, belittled, punished.

The program this set up in my body was anxiety – as soon as I would see or feel truth and intend to express it, either in words or with my whole being, up would come fear and dread of rejection and aggressive reactions and repercussions, and I’d allow this anxiety to stifle my expression.

Then I’d react by either withdrawing from the person as quickly as possible, or silencing and shrinking myself, calibrating my expression down to let them stay in their comfort zone. Oh yuk! I now know that, apart from harming myself, that harms the other person by denying them the opportunity for greater awareness. How irresponsible! Withdrawing from a situation and not expressing was an understandable reaction ‘back in the day’, but now’s the time for clearing old patterns and getting on with evolution.

What we’re talking about here is energy: not the calories, kilojoules, metabolism type of energy, but the energy behind and from our choices. The energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions, and the way we are in our bodies, can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression. I learned this from Serge Benhayon, and found from my own experience that it is true. However modern science rejects the energetic science of the Ageless Wisdom. The New Age movement has not helped this situation, with its careless use of modern and ancient science, sometimes containing a seed of truth, but not going deep enough nor being discerning of energetic integrity and is thus often misleading. Nor does current medical science have the full picture. The study of energetic root causes for illness and disease is a relatively new field requiring open mindedness, not dismissal. In this situation, it’s imperative to seek deeper for the truth and not skip to conclusions.

So…. OK me, on with the experiment, and time to stop suppressing my own expression. On with it, even if it means a rocky learning period in how to stay open and be all of myself in situations that could lead to people rejecting, reacting or attacking me. Challenge, yes. Impossible, no. It starts now. Only a few hours went by until an opportunity arose to put my new commitment into practice. And it worked! In fact, the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction, which supports me right back. A positive feedback loop. In the endless ‘mirrors reflecting mirrors’ human situation, this new response to new expression reduces the anxiety that arises from fear of being attacked, which then makes it easier to express fully, which reduces reactions and attacks, which makes it easier to express fully… and so on.

This is a turning point in my life, and can’t be under-estimated.

At the same time as doing this essential bit of work with my energetic awareness of expression and connection with myself, I felt it would be a good idea to do a few things to physically support my thyroid too. I increased my consumption of dietary phytosterols (which help with hormone balance) by taking a supplement, and I researched what foods I’m eating that might suppress thyroids. I found out that as well as the aforementioned broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and beans, phytates are a problem. I already soak my almonds and cook my dark leafy greens to reduce phytates, but there are high levels of them in sesame seed hulls. And I was eating a lot of unhulled tahini made from sesame seeds! So I switched to hulled tahini. These were the only physical changes I made, and I had another blood test quite soon after.

After my little experiment, off I went back to my doctor for the results of the follow-up thyroid function tests. She was gobsmacked because the result was normal! She said that ‘never happens!’

Sounds great, hey? Then another doctor, refusing to accept the science of energetic choices, said low thyroid can sometimes reverse and I must have “just dealt with my stress”.

But the stress level in my life had not changed. Thus I skipped too soon to the conclusion that the rapid reversal of my low thyroid function came by simply looking at my expression honestly and putting the resultant awareness into practice, plus a little bit of dietary tweaking.

But hold on – is poor expression the cause of thyroid problems or only a correlation? I obviously had low physical energy but what caused that? I eat well, sleep well, exercise, do esoteric yoga… and my level of stress was not obviously more than usual.

The esoteric explains it this way: “Hypothyroid issues are a fourth stage kidney issue [from lack of commitment to life] and not a direct result from a lack of expression issue. The process is low kidney life force -> low adrenals -> stimulated nervous system then thyroid problems.” – Serge Benhayon.

(Note, according to esoteric medicine, it is the kidneys that that are the energetic centres of our life force).

Applied retrospectively to my situation, this makes sense. It is going deeper for the truth of causes (which is ‘good science’) to the pre-physical origins of the illness. Is it possible that by withdrawing from a life situation – which in my case was accompanied by holding back my expression – I was reducing my commitment to life and thus choosing an unsupportive source of energy and stressing myself without realising it? The sequence above would naturally follow, and thyroid problems would be a predictable consequence. It also explains the ‘running on nervous energy’ component, which is exhausting below the radar of day to day busy-ness. It also explains the historical sluggish thyroid symptoms associated with holding back out of anxiety.

And so how about my healing? From my personal experience, I can’t deny a link between the healing of my thyroid and my commitment to heal and express in full. When I made the commitment, I was facing up to the life situation, bringing all of me to it and thus renewing my commitment to life and evolution. Up would come my kidney life force energy, followed by the re-balancing of the whole system, and quickly too! Now that is true medicine, and true science!

Thus the important thing here in the healing was the fact of committing to life.

Naturally, each person with thyroid problems (or adrenal or nervous problems) may have a different way than me of not committing to life. It may not be through under-expressing but some other choice altogether. Although modern medicine has great diagnostic and disease management tools, it tends to treat the ‘end of the line’ effects instead of tracing back to the energetic origins of illness. Thus a significant heads-up from my thyroid case is the importance of considering the energetic consequences of choices before jumping to the ‘one size fits all’, physical-based treatment of symptoms (effects). Propping up the thyroid pharmacologically would of course help the person get through each day, but not solve the underlying problem which could then rear up in another way.

Medicine and science have a great deal to learn from the Ageless Wisdom indeed!

  1. There is much more to consider in medicine that just the physical.
Thanks Dianne for sharing your experience that brings light to other facets of illness, which when are considered, can be a turning point that definitely change the understanding and experience of it.

  2. “I can’t deny a link between the healing of my thyroid and my commitment to heal and express in full. When I made the commitment, I was facing up to the life situation, bringing all of me to it and thus renewing my commitment to life and evolution.” What gold to read this! It’s simple, but difficult to implement for some (but as you share that it’s not impossible), and it shows how in tune the body is with our being, and when we are not ourselves in full the body reflects the damage of that reduced capacity.

  3. “Obviously my body knew this, even way back as a child, maybe even before scientific research brought us this information.” It makes sense to me what you have shared here as scientific research can only confirm what is already there, and we too can share in the knowing and understanding of life before science ‘discovers’ (but really confirms) it.

  4. What you say makes sense to me Dianne, The aircraft that fly around the world are constantly monitored for any sign that something is not working as it should, lets say out of harmony with the rest of the aircraft as this puts a strain on the other systems and it can have an adverse effect as we are all well aware.
If we can monitor aircraft in such a way why can’t we monitor ourselves so that when our bodies are out of harmony we can source the underlying problem and re-balance ourselves. Currently we just deal with the symptoms and not the actual cause which is why we need to stay on medication for years.

  5. ‘I was evidently getting my energy from somewhere else – and in retrospect I’d say it was nervous energy that kept me going.’ How many of us run in nervous energy without even realising it??? Explains the increase in caffeine and coffee outlets across the world and also the increase in stress and exhaustion. I love how you have brought the energetic awareness in here as it is super important we are aware of this and how all of our choices impact our life and health including our expression and how/what are we expressing. Everything matters and everything is energy we cannot get away from this simple truth and fact .. no matter how much we try!

  6. Getting to know the root cause of illness and disease is an amazing opportunity to deeply heal and understand ourselves at a whole new level.

  7. Dianne, there is much to learn about any diseases and I was very intrigued about low thyroid as I have this condition too. I know what I often go into and that is nervous energy and drive but worst of all, is the holding back with my expression.
I am learning to express despite not being popular at times for saying the truth and, it is something I need to commit to too.

What has been shared here needs to be appreciated by many that have this condition- it is a forever opportunity to form a relationship with our bodies.

Suppression is far worse than expression for your bodies.

  8. I felt such a strong pull to read this again today, and it relates so perfectly to my experiences this morning with learning how to stay in the full expression of my being, despite what others are experiencing in terms of reaction and pressuring me to tone it down – as you say to “stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy.” Your ability to hold yourself and the other person in love and understanding would be so supportive for you both, There is enormous wisdom in this blog Dianne, and your practical and step-by-step approach to recovering from your thyroid condition is very appreciated.

    1. Melinda, I agree I will be reading this blog again, there are many pearls of wisdom in here. The practicality of taking care of our bodies should not be under estimated and it requires simple steps to make those changes to true health and wellbeing.

    2. Melinda it’s really interesting to step back to see how people react if we stand in our fullness as Dianne suggests. I have found that I’m constantly being asked if I’m okay as though there is something wrong with me and how people around me feel uncomfortable and want to take the relationship back to one where they feel comfortable, not challenged.

  9. “Modern science rejects the energetic science of the Ageless Wisdom. The New Age movement has not helped this situation, with its careless use of modern and ancient science, sometimes containing a seed of truth, but not going deep enough nor being discerning of energetic integrity and is thus often misleading” – this is so true. And those drips of half-baked truth are very tantalizing to our minds, giving us a notion that we know something a bit deeper than the surface level, but that actually becomes the barrier that stands quite stubbornly in-between before we become humble enough to accept energetic truth to be the truth.

    1. Golnaz we are not taught to listen to our bodies but instead rely on our minds to think things out and from that thinking react. I’m finding the more I take a step back and actually listen to my body the greater clarity I have of everything that is happening around me, so in this space there is less reaction to life.

  10. Thank you Dianne, it seems there is a medicine to the way we live life and many of our choices beyond diet, sleep, and exercise either support the body or place it under stress and pressure. Working with Universal Medicine trained esoteric practitioners in complementary to medicine therapies has definitely supported me to understand how the way I respond or react to life impacts on my health and wellbeing, and the body itself shows me also.

  11. If science is the study of how life works it makes sense to understand also the energy that is making life happen.

  12. I love the way you didn’t simply accept the first reason for your symptoms, but kept on delving deeper and deeper until there was the answer you had been looking for. So often we simply accept a doctor’s diagnosis as being the final answer, but we are the ones’ who know our bodies better than anyone else and these wonderful bodies are constantly sharing what we need to know, we just have to stop, listen and to learn.

  13. For every ailment, illness and disease it makes absolute sense to me there is a reason for it and I don’t mean to blame our genes. We don’t just get ill otherwise we are helpless and powerless victims playing games with one another. How can we think life was meant to be like that?

  14. It is quite usual to live on nervous energy these days…but to what long term cost? It puts a strain on all the organs of the body – we quieten the signs of stress with cake or chips, a glass of wine or even anti depressants and the nervous system takes more flack. Eventually we run our selves into the ground or we pep ourselves up with coffee and sugary things? Another attack on the nervous system. When we start to bypass these solutions to our nervous feelings and stay WITH the feelings it may not be comfortable but it is honest and we give our selves a chance to appreciate that we can make a difference, a healthy and positive difference when we rest instead of hype ourselves up or make an effort when we know we are flagging due to lazy or distractive inducing thoughts. We are not a victim of the world, we can start to attend to ourselves and bring ourselves the kindness and compassion we are waiting for others to bring.

    1. Beautifully shared Elaine, and yes attending to ourselves with care, compassion, and love works wonders for the body and being. We can hold ourselves with the same preciousness we do children, and thrive just as they do with such loving care.

    2. This is a great observation Elainearthey
“We are not a victim of the world, we can start to attend to ourselves and bring ourselves the kindness and compassion we are waiting for others to bring”
The more we listen to our body the more we are in connection to our Soul, which brings a settlement so that we then no longer need to rely on nervous energy to run our bodies.

  15. I love Dianne how you brought it back to your own responsibility with your body and took it further than just the body but how you were expressing and how honest you were about the lack of expression. This is super inspiring and you can feel just how much this has supported you and all those you are in connection with. Amazing.

  16. Commit to life and the impact has an effect on every cell in my body. This blog really does bring home to me how commitment to life is great medicine for my health and well being.

    1. I agree Caroline, we can sometimes be hurt by people’s reactions to the expression of our true selves, or by a situation in life that we are confronted by, and feel to withdraw or stop expressing the fullness of ourselves in some other way. We know the term ‘to get knocked down and to get back up again’, but the getting back up may take some time or not happen at all. I found this line on the topic inspirational “When I made the commitment, I was facing up to the life situation, bringing all of me to it and thus renewing my commitment to life and evolution.”

      1. Yes very true and I can vouch for most of my life I would get easily ‘knocked down’ by the slightest of things, however this way of being is changing big time especially in the acceptance of self, all because of the commitment to loving and honouring me.

      2. Melinda it is dawning on me that if I look past the physicality of someone and feel what is the energy coming through them then I’m less likely to get caught in a reaction and getting hurt. I cannot always do this but recently I was feeling the energy of someone and it was the energy of ‘nice’ which feels very syrupy and cloying, By stepping back and just allowing my self to feel this I don’t have to take that energy on but just stay with what I know myself to be. So allowing them to be themselves and I’ll just be me.

  17. I love the curiousity and openness that you have shown here Dianne allowing you to explore and understand all aspects of a condition.

  18. In the last four years my eyes have gone from -1.50 to -0.25. My optometrist was baffled and mentioned that this doesn’t happen. I put it down to choosing to be more aware of whats going on energetically in my life.

    1. Love this Lee…and inspires me to open my eyes more to what’s going on around me….and inside me too!

  19. I have found that playing with energy as often happens in the New Age without having sufficient understanding can lead to dramatic consequences but may not be exactly the effects we are looking for.

  20. I like your approach of taking a month out to deal with the illness before you go to western medicine and its very well working medication and so forth. There are definitely cases where we do need medication straight away but it is great to bring self-reflection and responsibility back into the picture so we can truly heal instead of just function with medication for life or have reoccurrences. Therefore these testimonials are so great so that we can know there is more to illness and disease and that there is a way to heal though how we are living.

  21. “Medicine and science have a great deal to learn from the Ageless Wisdom indeed!” This is a fascinating and simple to follow investigation into the possible underlying cause of a problem.

  22. It makes absolute sense to me that when we source energy from our nervous system it has to have an impact on the body in exactly the same way as anxiety running through our body. It really does make me pause to reflect on the abuse we do to our bodies without the slightest aware of the harm – it has become so normal to live this way of being.

  23. How often do we think about or consider the wellbeing of any part of our body? This is a great question, as mostly we seem to expect it to just keep doing what we want and ignore it except when we have something wrong with it. That’s what is great about illness and disease is that it offers a reset to be more body centric rather than being run by how we think we should be living.

  24. “Challenge, yes. Impossible, no. It starts now” – oh, I love this. It is a commitment.

  25. It’s amazing how a condition can be traced further back from a ‘cause’ identified by a medical expert when Ageless Wisdom is applied. It offers so much more depth in how we can look at what our own body is manifesting, and an opportunity to renew our commitment to take responsibility for the way we are in our everyday life.

  26. I love the approach you’ve taken here Dianne here, the willingness to not take that first answer and get back to the root cause and with it a greater understanding of how energy operates and the outplay of that.

    1. The first answer it not always the only answer. The willingness to sit with and go deeper into understanding how we live is a choice in each moment that we can choose to make. In this blog this had rung true.

  27. ‘The study of energetic root causes for illness and disease is a relatively new field requiring open mindedness, not dismissal.’ There is so much still to be uncovered by science providing they come with a total openness to possibilities.

  28. To me it makes so much sense what Universal Medicine presents:
‘according to esoteric medicine, it is the kidneys that that are the energetic centres of our life force’
If food would be our main energy supplier everyone who actually eats too much would be super fit, whereas in reality it is usually the other way around.

  29. Thank you for sharing your own case study. And I agree with ‘the importance of considering the energetic consequences of choices before jumping to the ‘one size fits all’, physical-based treatment of symptoms (effects).’ To get true healing this part is essential.

  30. We are sold a crumb of truth and when this ‘fails’ us, as ultimately a mere fragment will, we dismiss the entire truth that it was first taken from.

  31. There were so many foods as a child that I didn’t like the smell of, and even more didn’t like the taste of. But these senses were basically forced to be overridden because I was told that certain foods were good for me and therefore I had to learn to eat them. But if we stayed true to all of our senses, our bodies would get all the nutrition and support they needed and we would not compromise them in as many ways as we currently do.

  32. So it is healing at the deepest level that we must seek, and not to overlay symptoms with effective solutions, but rather to allow what is laying underneath to come out and to be seen so that it maybe healed, so that we may truly heal.

  33. Such a great self-study and so very helpful to read. And whether this is called science today or not, this for me is science and in full application.

    1. Yes, what is dearly needed is that we each take care of our body so that when something is not right we can tell our doctor what is going on with us and work with them.

    2. Yes, the power of true self-love and self-care if lived by us all would bring an enormous change not only to our health but our entire lives.

  34. We have a long way to go with the correlation between energetic and ‘conventional’ medicine but there will be a point where we will not be able to carry on the way we are blind to the power of healing at the root cause.

  35. It is amazing to read these words – commitment to life – and how they describe what is an integral part of health, a health that is lived on all levels and in all ways.

  36. I agree Ariana. It is super empowering to know that you hold the key to your health. A thyroid condition isn’t just something medical happening in the body, as if to someone else. It is the result of a way of living, which only we can choose. Know that and you have the power to change everything.

    1. Yes, we hold the key but very few want to take the responsibility for that because when we accept we are in the driving seat we start to see that we are where we are as a result of all of our own choices and that is not easy to accept.

  37. “The New Age movement has not helped this situation, with its careless use of modern and ancient science, sometimes containing a seed of truth, but not going deep enough nor being discerning of energetic integrity and is thus often misleading. I recently attended a presentation that had seeds of truth. I could feel how harmful these almost truths are, as they you keep people from fully understanding life, energetic integrity and their responsibility in the whole scheme of things. So much of what I hear is about changing the way you think more, getting to know the mind better, yet I have found my mind only led to devastation of my wellbeing. It is only through my honest, sensitive body that I am coming to a freedom to know and discern truth.

  38. It was great to start to consider how our natural life-force and energy can be drained (i.e. how energy is consumed and metabolised) by the quality of our expression. On an energetic level it made sense to me how if we hold back or suppress our expression it can end up affecting our hormonal system and its ability to balance our vitality.

    1. I think I always knew and felt the impact of holding back, but didn’t want to be aware of it all, for now I feel how much force I have to use to do it and I don’t like the feeling of that and the consequences.

  39. I didn’t know that. Do these foods suppress thyroid function in healthy people?

  40. I have just had a diagnosis of Hashimotos disease which is a thyroid condition. I understand that it is the result of a lifetime of holding myself back, choosing contraction and not expressing myself. Reading this blog is a great support in moving forward and taking the next steps.

  41. Brilliant blog Dianne exposing how harming it is to the body when we hold back on our expression and what we feel from the body is true. I can relate to this old pattern of holding back and the experience of the points you mention here. Quite daunting and uncomfortable at times, and so worth working with to feel the expansion that occurs in the body particles rather than the contraction of non-expression.
“I discovered that a ‘biggie’ blocking my expression is an old pattern: speak truth – get slammed; see truth and expose that which is uncomfortable for someone else – get attacked; stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy – get rejected, belittled, punished”.

  42. It is quite incredible how the effects of how we express, or hold back, are so clearly felt upon the body. Each time I hold back, I feel drained afterwards – as if I’ve been using a force to hold together a dam or a wall that is blocking all that is naturally there to flow through me.

    1. I can relate to this Bryony. By holding back our true expression we are doing untold damage not only to ourselves but to everyone we hold back our expression from.

      1. Yes.. it’s super damaging to relationships, our health and overall well-being and sense of connection when we hold back – which is ironic and ridiculous, because the reasons we hold back in the first place are to not get hurt – when actually, holding back hurts us and others far more than just saying whatever is there to be said.

  43. “The study of energetic root causes for illness and disease is a relatively new field requiring open mindedness, not dismissal. In this situation, it’s imperative to seek deeper for the truth and not skip to conclusions.” This article is a very clear understanding of the underlying cause of hypothyroidism and an opportunity to take responsibility for our own part in resolving the problem.

  44. Brilliant study and experiment of yourself, as I am sure there are many people who can relate to your discovery of the relationship between anxiety related to holding back expression, and how anxiety contributes to the low thyroid levels. The stress and anxiety certainly is very taxing on the physiology.

  45. Dianne this is such a great template that we can all take under our wings and give it a go. What is so beautiful is the deep level of honesty and truth you are prepared to go to which clearly exposes how we can only really heal when we allow this to be.

  46. Mainstream solutions are pretty surface, whereas the esoteric – i.e. looking at the science behind all of our choices and how they affect the whole body – explains what’s going on by looking at the whole and taking everything into account. Amazing how quickly the body responds when we start being aware of how we’re living, and making different choices.

  47. I don’t think i’ve ever thought about my thyroid glands! And usually only any other part of my body get’s attention if there’s a pain or something out of the ordinary.

  48. I love how you did this ‘inner experiment’ Dianne. We can learn so much from our bodies when we choose to listen and then act on the messages they are sending us.

  49. Each of us is in the lab of life conducting endless experiments. But we mostly choose to ignore the truth of the results. Like big pharmaceutical organisations, we often prefer to skew what we know and feel to suit a picture we want life to be. That’s ill to me!

  50. The Ageless Wisdom often takes us deeper than the already deeper that we have gone to. This is a fantastic example of just that….when having traced your condition back to some form of suppressed expression you could go even further and find a lack of commitment to life issue. This is awesome for it then allows you to look at all areas of life where there is a less than full commitment and what that means for you and where it came from and how it is impacting the present and then with a focus on the body feel where this lack of commitment manifests in the body and in life. I could relate to so much of what you have shared and also remember when I felt I had an acceptance issue only to look deeper and find, with the help of a practitioner, that this too was a lack of commitment to life. This made so much sense and allowed me to address the real cause not what I thought it was.

  51. I love your self experiments coming from connecting to and feeling your body, reading the communication and following what inside of you is asking for.

  52. Fascinating to understand that the reason we don’t like some foods is because they cause a physical effect in the body that literally disturbs the chemical equilibrium.

    1. Yes, that is an excellent point. Food can have quite a few indirect effects. Mind you, I like Broccoli.

  53. Phew ! What an inspiration this article is …. we can all express more, and more, as we surrender and let go there will always be a deeper appreciation to express.

  54. This is such an inspiring sharing. I can feel my expression is being suppressed and a thought of giving it a full go feels scary. But scary for what? I can feel I have not allowed myself to even feel that in full, and there still is a bit of hesitation I can feel, that I would rather not go that way if I don’t have to. Feeling your commitment and light-heartedness lets me know that there is a way that I can do this.

  55. Amazing how something (a food in this case) that we have had an aversion to all our lives, can actually be a signal that there is an imbalance somewhere in our bodies. Such a simple thing, but one that seems to be so often overlooked by the medical profession. No doubt if such things were taken into consdieration more often, many illnesses and disease could be prevented or at least reduced in there onset and severity.

  56. Having had blood tests recently and being prescribed supplements to help support a slightly low functioning thyroid I find this especially fascinating with a lot to ponder on. Thank you for expressing so fully about your condition and how you approached it and what you discovered.

  57. This article is like a bible for me. I have thyroid issues myself and even though I have read this article again and again, I gain something else each time I read it. Tonight in reading it I feel the grace of understanding and how through personal understanding of our particular life circumstances that much can adjust. The power in this cannot be ignored.

  58. “But modern medicine doesn’t take it deep enough, because ‘causes’ can just be the effects of something even earlier.” his is what we need to understand, that the whole body is interconnected and that the location of the symptoms is not necessarily the root cause of it.

  59. I love the way you approach science Diane, being absolutely open and using your own experiences to explore different pathways and options. Our body is living science and to study it and understand it from an energetic perspective will in the end give us much better health then the solution based medical science could ever get.

  60. Amazing Dianne , not letting yourself be bedazzled by medical diagnosis, you researched yourself through the most amazing scientific instrument of them all – your own body.

  61. This was so great to re-read Dianne… to look at the bigger picture of what caused your thyroid to be out of balance and how you were able to heal the problem. I love how the esoteric gets to the bottom of it all and can explain on an energetic level what is going on.

  62. This blog shows how we all have the ability to heal ourselves at a deeper level that is currently available via modern medical practices alone, although utilizing both in a synergistic way holds for us a real powerhouse of capability. Dianne, I love the way you went about dealing with your thyroid issue in a systematic way that experimented with potential energetic causes as well as physical ones (as in diet choices) and shows to me that when we take on more responsibility in expressing our true selves without holding back, this is the most vitalizing thing for our bodies.

  63. We really can establish a full diagnosis covering all levels when we’re open to seeing the ‘more’ of an illness and disease, and what might be contributing to the outplay of the body being dis-eased.

  64. The body knows much better than any medical journal what supports it and what does not.

  65. I know this feeling of frustration at not being able to work at the racehorse speed, and finding out that eventually the speed and the manner which I inevitably end up is the one that my body actually wants, whereas the super-fast paced one is coming more just from my head.

  66. How often do we think of committing to life and expressing in full as healing? Rarely, in my experience, yet the benefits are so obvious. Being out there in the world, committing to every part of our lives, gives us a greater understanding of ourselves because of what others reflect to us, and a different perspective of whatever might be going on for us. And the expressing in full part means that we are less likely to hold onto and bury whatever we might be feeling.

  67. That’s absolutely key to remember in understanding the stages or layers of illness and disease “‘causes’ can just be the effects of something even earlier”.

  68. Wonderful to read how someone can have such an intimate and detailed relationship with there body and then to realise that this is possible for all of us

  69. ” Thus the important thing here in the healing was the fact of committing to life.” It sound like you opened your heart and let people in to see all of you and therefore committed the you that is the true you to life. thank you for sharing Dianne.

  70. “Hypothyroid issues are a fourth stage kidney issue [from lack of commitment to life] and not a direct result from a lack of expression issue. The process is low kidney life force -> low adrenals -> stimulated nervous system then thyroid problems.” If only the medical profession was open to the simplicity of what is presented here, we would be able to catch many illnesses before they developed into much more serious and possibly life threatening issues.

  71. Thank you Dianne, what you have shared makes perfect sense. The fear of attack leads to a withdrawal from life, a reduction in the quality of what is being expressed and thus the beginnings of living life through the ‘fight or flight’ responses of the human nervous system, rather than living life through the vascular system and thus our true open-heartedness.

  72. Conventional medicine has a tool box where to look at to treat a condition. The tool box is what it is and in some cases it is a great one. In other cases, what it offers is to provide (some) relief for one condition but making the overall body and its quality of life worst off (e.g., lifetime antidepressants for a thyroid issue). In other cases it has no much to offer. The Ageless Wisdom has a different set of tool box. It has to do with our beingness always and what we have allowed in our body due to it and it offers the key to undo the configurations that set us in the path to illness and disease. Working together is definitely the way to go.

  73. Superb account of the multi-faceted causation of illness, the momentum from deeper root causes and the subsequent knock-on effects that manifest in the presenting problem. There is clearly more to unveil in our true understanding of how the human body truly works. The energetic and emotional elements as precursors to later, seemingly unrelated conditions, would benefit from being deeply researched and our education and prevention programmes adapted as a consequence. Indeed, the results would without doubt be game-changing for health, for medicine and for personal responsibility in the entire equation.

  74. Sometimes we need to be like a detective in understanding the root causes to our illness and lack of wellbeing. As you explained so beautifully Dianne, each path is individual in the way we have avoided being fully engaged in life.

  75. ‘Medicine and science have a great deal to learn from the Ageless Wisdom indeed!’ Indeed they do and I love how you are so willing to explore all the possibilities and not accept things on face value. No doubt your body appreciated that.

  76. “Thus a significant heads-up from my thyroid case is the importance of considering the energetic consequences of choices before jumping to the ‘one size fits all’, physical-based treatment of symptoms (effects).” A very clear and indisputable result of your willingness to look more deeply at your daily choices. A very inspiring blog Dianne and one that all of us would do well to pay heed to in relation to our health and energetic choices.

  77. The way we live these days I would imagine that commitment to life would be a causative factor in many illnesses. There is a commitment to playing games, becoming a celebrity, if only for a short while, becoming rich, being entertained, following sport, endless hobbies but where is the commitment to the qualities we harbour inside and where is the commitment to looking after our own bodies?

  78. You write with a great sense of fun, playfulness, honesty, curiosity, and a strong commitment to truth and understanding of life. It was a fascinating read and has given me much to think about it.

  79. This article has been a massive support for me. Reading it today, I can feel a deep inner strength in simply making the decision to commit to me, because it is from this commitment that the commitment to life is simple. For what it is that I feel, is felt by all, so to not live, move and share it is saying life and others doesn’t really matter. There is nothing further from the truth when we are here to serve man kind, we are not naturally designed to live for what we can get out of the world and others. It is this paradigm that we get caught into that ultimately suffocates our commitment to our essence and life.

  80. When we hold back or hide our wisdom everyone misses out on the potential of that wisdom including ourselves – how can we think this is not affecting our health and wellbeing.

  81. This is an absolutely brilliant blog Dianne, thank you. It makes so much sense to trace back the energetic root cause of what is bringing about an illness and disease and work with that as well as modern medicine to support true healing. Everything that you wrote about in this blog makes total sense to me.

  82. We can trace where an illness orginates from (pathogens/ causal agent/situations) but Universal Medicine shares that energy comes in and through the body, tracing the energy that then moves us towards or away from the pathogen/causal trigger. I can’t think of a greater form of preventative medicine. And when addressing the energetic cause stops us going down the illness road further.

  83. “….. the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction, which supports me right back.” Awesome lived awareness shared here Dianne, choosing to hold back in expression affects us in so many ways. When we can be the observer of ourselves and life situations, we are much better equipped to come from our natural ability to express what is there to say.

  84. I love how your body knows exactly what it does and doesn’t want, and how you listen out of curiosity. Your observation of what is going on for you is so astute and precise. You are an inspiration.

  85. “….. the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction, which supports me right back.” A beautiful post to re-read Dianne. Re-comitting to life – in every moment feels so important. Getting to the root cause of any symptom – not just treating it superficially – will one day be the goal of western medicine too.

  86. When we deal with the situation there is almost always a period of discomfort of having to face up to what we have not committed to but the process is necessary and eventually enormously worthwhile when we look at the root cause.

  87. What I love about your discoveries Dianne is that you are 100% willing to take off the blindfold and peer beneath the curtain come-what-may. Too often we blindly reach for a ‘quick-fix’ to take it all away because we do not want to deal with the situation at hand, let alone the underlying root cause behind it.

  88. “…choices and energy impact the physical well-being and medical conditions of the body.” – Such a simple sentence Diane, and yet it holds many answers to what and how things are happening in our world, in our bodies. We choose to eat and drink foods that are a fuel that is not suitable for the body and as a result we have physical consequences. But then there are the energetic aspects to contend with too – why is it that we eat these foods when we know they do not support us? These are great things to ponder on and so we get to see that there is the bigger picture of our choices and the consequences.

  89. Committment to life.. my feeling this is an all encompassing bodily committment. Making the choice to be open, to move with fluidity and grace and to offer the wisdom that lies deep with in, in words and actions.

  90. A beautiful example of tracing back to the energetic origin of a condition Dianne, and the way it relates in your everyday life. Taking responsibility in this way has enormous benefits for you obviously, but also supports anything the medical profession might need to do as well. This approach is the future of medicine… by necessity.

    1. So beautifully said Jenni – this is the approach that medicine needs to take and will do so eventually.

    2. I agree too medicine is a two way communication and relationship, in fact everything in life is a relationship, we cannot ever let go of the fact that we are part of the equation waiting to be healed, we have to be a part of this healing.

  91. I love how the body knows what will support it and what will not as you have shared with the brocoli, brussell’s and cabbage etc. I had my gallbladder taken out a few years ago and I was always averse to eating a lot of fat and acidic foods prior to this, a lot for the gallbladder to deal with if not functioning well, and my body still doesn’t want these now without a gallbladder, so I listen to it.

  92. The medical industry today is extraordinary in what it can achieve in treating illness and disease, but without looking at and addressing the energetic root cause of conditions it ignores a significant piece of the puzzle. As such it perpetuates the irresponsibility that people can choose when they remain unaware of how their choices created the disharmony that led to their physical ailment in the first place.

  93. Wow leaving that anxiety way behind, by committing to a program of expressing what had been felt to be said.

  94. Dianne a very detailed look at how our livingness affects our thyroid and I loved how you looked at your ongoing commitment to expressing from truth and love, and how you are no longer holding back.

  95. How amazing is the body, all the parts working together and supporting us to do incredible things. What’s also amazing is the feeling in my body when I take care of myself, of all I bring and all I do, that my body is able to both support me and also show me when I am out of line with truth. In effect if we listen to our body we are taught everything, even if science doesn’t fully understand the details.

  96. The first thing that I felt was that you, Dianne are a Medical Miracle! Or, is what you have discovered simply common sense that is just not so common yet? You are a deeply intelligent woman and so you were able to explore the possible causes for your low thyroid in a fun and inexpensive way. What you discovered was holding back your expression was one of the possible causes of this ill condition and so you made an energetic shift. One day surely we can marry energy and science? After all, energy is scientific, everything is energy and so of course our choices in life are going to carry an energy that has the ability to either support or work against the body and its intricate functions.

  97. I’m amazed about the clarity in which you expose the correlation between your condition and the energetic root of it, Diane. This is a gap that our current medical system has and a treasure to be taken into account for every illness to be deeply healed

  98. I absolutely love the way you explain things so beautiful Dianne, it brings much clarity and understanding. Thank-you.

  99. Very inspiring Dianne, you leave no stone unturned in how to heal a condition in the body. You use your observing way of life to be absolutely honest and to come to the truth of whatever condition is bothering you.

  100. The ‘science of energetic truth’ is not accepted by many, as there is a simplicity to it that is so often complicated by science that keeps us disconnected from the clear messages that come from the body, as we are so entrapped by the thoughts that are fed through the head.

  101. I love how you have started this blog Dianne – it is rare, I would say, for us to think of our individual organs until something goes wrong with them. But why is it that we don’t tune into our body more, when after all it plays a key role in communicating to us what is needed for us to be well and in great health and vitality? In our society when we become unwell, it is more common to look for something to relieve the symptom picture we are experiencing, rather than stopping to question what is happening with our body or an organ as such…And yet our body is an amazing, patient and very resilient teacher! I reckon it is time I too tuned more into what my organ(s) are playing as music (pun intended).

  102. “The program this set up in my body was anxiety – as soon as I would see or feel truth and intend to express it, either in words or with my whole being, up would come fear and dread of rejection and aggressive reactions and repercussions, and I’d allow this anxiety to stifle my expression.”
This has been the pattern for my whole life. Anxiety used to be a constant, now though it is only when I want to speak/move truth that it is still there and what you share Dianne has given me a great insight into myself and a clear path of how to address this and no longer let it stop me from bringing to the world the understanding and wisdom I feel.

  103. It is really interesting Dianne that ‘Hypothyroid issues are a fourth stage kidney issue [from lack of commitment to life]’. Bringing the Esoteric teachings to medical diagnosis/health issues gives the opportunity for deep healing to take place.

  104. You uncovered a underlying emotional issue and cause for the anxiety that your body has holding. That is definitely leaving no stone unturned in and offers an example of true healing.

  105. True commitment to life that is bringing all of you and what you feel is true to the world knowing we are so much more than just physical human beings alone is best medicine for so many ill conditions in the world.

  106. This is such a great blog. So practical and bridgeable. It’s inspiring how we can be our own experiment and really uncover what works for us and is needed for our evolution.

    1. Spot on Lucy – all of Dianne’s blogs are very relatable and about life and the practicalities involved. She has a love for science and so our body and life in general is like one big and many small experiments that we can all learn from…what a blessing to see it this way!

  107. ‘These things made me feel drained and cranky about not being able to do all the things or work at the racehorse pace that I used to and felt I wanted to.’ I have a hypothyroid condition and found there was a correlation between my ‘racehorse pace’ and my illness. Working in a super-stressful way was just one of the contributing factors, something this condition has taught me I can no longer do. I still do a lot, but the energy I do it in is very, very different – far more considered, balanced and sustainable.

  108. DIanne, it really sounds like you decided to look at all aspects here regarding your thyroid, from a physical perspective, emotional, mental and energetically. This is what was key, looking at all aspects and taking responsibility for changes in your life.

  109. Thank you Dianne for your amazing blog- revealing the importance of not only dealing with the physical ailments, which the body clearly reveals if we are open to feeling the signs of dis-ease in our body, but also a very important component not looked at in modern medicine- the energetic factor to illness.
Addressing both areas leads to true medicine.

  110. Thyroid issues as a development of lack of commitment to life is a proposition well worth exploring – I can certainly feel this applies to me, and an over-stimulated nervous system has definitely been part of my life story. What a difference it makes to contemplate all of this, rather than write off my condition as some sort of random, bad luck event. It’s a far more responsible approach. And the good news is in my experience Esoteric Medicine not only supports with the answers, but with modalities that can work with the body and the underlying issues.

  111. This is amazing Dianne, what a dissection. Modern medicine suffers from an issue that abounds in modern life, we treat the symptoms and we want solutions fast and are not always willing to trace back and find out what choices led to the condition in the first place. We need both as without the full understanding that you note here in your case we just recreate those situations elsewhere.

  112. ‘Propping up the thyroid pharmacologically would of course help the person get through each day, but not solve the underlying problem which could then rear up in another way.’ So, so true Dianne. Most of us rely on a ‘magic pill’ (where there is one available) to alleviate our ills without going remotely near the root cause of the issue… which will ultimately show up another way. Esoteric Medicine encourages us to really understand why we’re at where we’re at – and what a blessing that is.

  113. There is much to appreciate about what you have shared here, that you really took the measures to change how you were living, not just medically, but energetically also. Really amazing.

  114. Thank you again Dianne… Yes it is obvious that medicine and science too have a great deal to learn from the ageless wisdom… The thing is that so many of us either are or will be experiencing thyroid problems even when we have taken on the journey of knowing one’s true self… So I trust that this article will be well read.

  115. Dianne I really appreciate you writing this, only a few hours ago I was feeling to tune into my thyroid and how something did not feel right and then remembered this blog and how you found it was linked with expression (or lack of!) and certain foods like broccoli (which I eat a lot of!) which is also interesting as when I looked up supplements to support the thyroid one of the had broccoli in it! It just goes to show how important it is in expressing what we find as it can help another.

  116. What is so beautifully exposed here is that we can misuse the nervous system to drive ourselves which is in disharmony to the rest of the body. All the while not addressing a quality of living that means our body systems are not working together in harmony.

  117. So awesome what you have shared here. An incredible insight into the functioning and purpose of our bodies.

  118. Indeed medicine and science do have a great deal to learn from the Ageless Wisdom Dianne. I enjoyed reading and learning from your blog, Dianne. Commitment to life is certainly the key to our healing.

  119. Diane, thank you for sharing. I can totally relate to your first statement. We never think of our thyroid gland until something goes wrong. I never thought of my thyroid until I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 2 months ago. I have started my own blog here as part of my healing process and speaking up my truth.

  120. This personal experiment is a wonderful demonstration of how we can work with our body, rather than against it. This is true wisdom.

  121. Dianne, I love how you so wonderfully observe, assess, question, postulate and experiment with various aspects of your personal life just as rigorously as you would if you were conducting a scientific experiment. I also love the amazing insights you gather and share from such an approach. This provides an inspiring example for how we could each be deepening our awareness and wisdom simply by living and observing our lives.

  122. Diane your realization about stress, and what stress on the body can be caused by is key here. To say that the stress is caused from within, through the source of energy you were choosing, is unlike most views on stress, which is based on what is happening outside of us. When looked at from this perspective it very much makes it about our responsibility to learn about and understand what source of energy we are choosing.

  123. The more I learn about the purpose of the different parts of my body on not just a physical level, but their pupose in our evolution, the more I can appreciate just how precious and powerful our body actually is.

  124. What I get from this is that we may find something that looks like the answer or the solution to something, be it a health issue or anything else, but it’s important to discern if this is indeed the ‘end of the line’ of the root cause. We might feel better, but if we leave the true root cause unaddressed, we will have other issues crop up which might seem unrelated on the surface but will have the same root cause as the original issue.

  125. We don’t realise just how much we hold back, for example, there are many instances in our lives where we feel something but, rather than rock the boat, we convince ourselves that it doesn’t matter, so we stay silent. But resentment or frustration builds, and eventually the dam bursts and either our body gets very sick or we voice out with a tirade of abuse that is truly harming. So holding back hurts all round.

  126. This really shows how The Ageless Wisdom as delivered by Serge Benhayon adds the missing pieces to conventional medicine, allowing us to make different choices and redress the imbalances in our life. Together, esoteric and conventional medicine are a veritable power house and deliver the whole picture of what is going on for a patient and what is needed for them to heal and not just cure, fix something or get better.

  127. Awesome blog Dianne. The true way forwards for science in the future –
“The study of energetic root causes for illness and disease is a relatively new field requiring open mindedness, not dismissal. In this situation, it’s imperative to seek deeper for the truth and not skip to conclusions”.

  128. Your sharing is so great because your sharing shows the love for detail you have and your delivering supports to understand the whole. Thank you.

  129. Absolutely incredible Dianne, it amazes me every time I read such story of health being turned around so absolutely that there is so much more for us to understand and respect for the intelligence of the body being just one step in the right direction.

  130. We so take our bodies for granted and how amazingly tolerant they are, until something goes wrong and then suddenly we pay more attention and realise just what a great, marvellous and magical job they constantly do. So could one of the purposes of illness and disease actually be to remind us to be more connected to our bodies?

    1. Yes could be and also to fully appreciate our bodies for the awesome homeostasis they keep up, the great functions they perform and the wisdom they hold. When we see our bodies as our vehicles of expression it pays well to keep them clear and open.

  131. I love the example you provide here of being deeply interested in what our body offers, to reflect on the possible factors, seek advice and also use our own observations to deepen our understanding. And with all of that to work closely and lovingly with our body honoring our deepening awareness. If everyone does half of this our health system would not be struggling so much.

  132. Thank you for putting pen to paper (or finger to keyboard), for this is a subject I am particularly interested in due to the holding back an aspect of my life, such as expression and the nervous energy that is running as an under current through the body – this blog offers another piece to the puzzle.

  133. The power of healing when it comes from a combination of the physical and the energetic!

  134. It is very inspiring to read that when we engage in our own health care with the support of traditional and complementary medicine, and take responsibility for our own part in our healing that the unknown can happen. More and more when we seek to treat the whole person with their engagement true healing can occur.

  135. There is more simple science presented here in this article than in many peer reviewed science articles. What Dianne has shared rings very true for me. Commitment to life has also changed my thyroid results, for the better, however I can feel deep in my body a settlement in agreeance to my now commitment to expressing in full. Thank you for sharing Dianne, your words are my inspiration.

  136. The nervous system has been a dear friend of mine for a large portion of my life. Constantly on tap and the go to system in my body to pretty much deal with every aspect. The long-term harm is very much what has been shared so simply here Dianne. What has been so supportive in the turn around is the way I have come to a deeper understanding of when we bring Esoteric and Western Medicine together, we build a bridging support with the changes that come from how we are living and what we choose to let go and let in.

  137. Thank you for sharing this insight – it is a white paper in itself – a very informative sharing of your own experiment and how much energy is at play. Yes there is the physical – but there is so much more. The Esoteric brings a deep awareness and understanding to everything that happens.

  138. One of the most interesting investigations I have found is to learn how my body and my mind are connected, how many messages there are from the body and how valuable they are and a big part of it was learning how to interpret what was coming from my body.

  139. I love this. This is music to my ears. Science in full bloom! What a wonderful thing to consider that we are a being first and foremost that lives inside a body and affect it by the way we live. It makes full sense and if we were to look at it this way then we would benefit so so much to getting to understand why things happen in our bodies. Thank you tons Dianne.

    1. It makes so much sense, why is it that this seems to be ignored so blatantly?

      1. I would say because we are affected in our etheric make up with us unknowing of it, and then we get the physical effect and we cannot understand why it happens. Serge explains this very clear that there is so much more going on “behind the scenes” energetically than we think.

  140. We often only address things when we are forced to by a physical ailment – hence the blessing that those “issues” are.

    1. And when we listen earlier we often avoid the physical ailment – very useful :).

  141. The more I read this bog and the comments the simpler it seems to support my body. It is a matter of choosing this simplicity in every moment, which is confirmed in my body- not in my thoughts.

  142. It never cease to amaze me how much of an impact there is on our bodies from not expressing what we are feeling. So when we have lived a life of holding this back, the consequences are going to be such that they will not always be straight forward to deal with. Ultimatley we all have a responsibility to share what we know and feel with the world and to not do so is irresponsible.

  143. Awesome blog to reread, understanding that energetically low thyroid function is about not committing to life (low life-force). I too have held back from expressing all my life and with this greater awareness I can now look at ways I keep myself small and hold my light back.

  144. The energetic explanation of low thyroid shows how it doesn’t develop overnight, but builds from kidney life force. This is very important to understand when addressing it.

  145. Looking at expression in relation to having a commitment to life is quite astounding. It puts so much in to a greater perspective. I certainly am often looking at the immediate symptom and then try to find a cure so my life can better – or symptom free. But what is being presented here is how we can actually trace that symptom back through the body, through an array of symptoms and back to a direct choice that has been made about how life was being approached. And what is also so great, is the way that this can all be turned around, not by just solving the symptom, but also by addressing that initial choice of irresponsibility and from there the manifesting symptoms will be resolved.

  146. This is amazing as your story shows me how energy precedes the manifestation of dis-ease in our human body – The way we go about our day, our choices, behaviour patterns etc, thoughts, attitudes, beliefs are movements of energy through our vascular, nervous, endocrine and connective tissue which, our cells would then respond to.

  147. We have so many signs that show us what source of energy we are drawing from, not only from our body, but from every aspect of our lives. I can’t help but appreciate how much support we have to keep understanding energy and the responsibility we hold.

  148. I so appreciate my body and the fact that it tells me when something is not right about the way that I am living. If we really listened to the body we would not need to get as sick as we do because we would be able to arrest the ill energy that we live in a long time before it becomes an illness in the body.

  149. This is very supportive to read again as someone close to me has been diagnosed with low thyroid and I was looking at what could be digested to help but really looking for the energetic reasons behind it. There is a lot here to take in.

  150. I love your approach to your heath Dianne, as it’s so refreshingly simple and practical and makes complete sense. If we really listened to the messages our bodies are giving us before we went to eat something, we would undoubtedly avoid all sorts of health issues, and potentially reach conclusions about the health problems we already have much more easily and quickly. This is an inspiring read, thank you.

  151. I currently have an under-active thyroid as well, Dianne, and the words that jumped out at me re-reading this blog were about “choosing an unsupportive source of energy”. I too am learning that if we are not fuelling our bodies with love, we will eventually pay the price for living in a way that is not true to our nature.

  152. It is not often that we consider where we get our energy from, what is that energy source and is it sustainable? Relying on nervous energy to get through life is a dead end street going nowhere, for operating in survival mode is not a sustainable way of being.

    1. “What is that energy source and is it sustainable?” is a truly valuable question. The question that follows for me is: ‘and at what cost to my health and well being does it take in potentially hidden ways until no longer sustainable’?

  153. The wisdom and knowledge here is beautiful to feel with the combination of Esoteric and conventional medicine working together to offer true healing understanding and love. How powerful is this and what we are all truly looking for .

  154. A brilliant understanding of our thyroid gland making it simple to understanding our responsibility for our own health and the harmony of our body from inside us . Our natural intelligence and knowing is amazing and something to really connect to and be guided by if we choose to live in a way that allows this beautifully.

  155. It will be incredible when science finally catches up to the fact that energetic responsibility is at the root of all our ills, that our choices affect our outcomes and that it is an energetic response that creates what will occur. When this acceptance arises we can actually start to fully appreciate the deeper outplays of why ill health arises.

  156. This is great. Most often we find ways to manage our illness or disease rather than looking for the root causes. By approaching our situation from different angles as you have done here we can get a much more thorough view of what is really going on. Thanks for sharing so fully Dianne.

  157. Thank you Dianne, your article is an awesome example of the greater dimensions of illness and what is on offer for healing if we are willing to allow our awareness and understanding to expand.

  158. You are describing a familiar path – learning to understand the effects of lack of commitment to life, and withdrawal, can have on our bodies – Where we do not bring ourselves in full in every day, not only can we suffer physical and mental exhaustion and overwhelm but we can get stuck in a vicious cycle of more overwhelm, more withdrawal and reluctance to engage with life, which then begets further exhaustion etc until our endocrine system flags the deep imbalance we have created. The turnaround begins with gentle steps of commitment to self and to life and learning self-love – and from there we can start to truly live.

  159. Yes there is much indeed to learn from the marriage between so-called conventional Western medicine and Esoteric Medicine, and there is a steadily growing body of evidence that illustrates the benefits and effectiveness of utilising them both in mutual support.

  160. Wow this is super inspiring Dianne and having the openness to self reflect and ask the questions that you did has brought about some significant changes for you. Thanks for sharing something very important like this. Expression for me has always been one to hide behind the curtains but I am inspired to show me for all of who I am and express it in full. Makes sense the particles in our body would respond to such a vibration of true expression.

  161. This blog is jam packed with inspiration for anyone who has low thyroid or low energy levels. It is amazing once you start to observe yourself, the areas of life where you don’t stay and commit and instead withdraw and hold back expressing fully with your body and voice. These areas of not committing may not be obvious yet it is a huge strain on the body.

  162. Dianne I really like the way you are open to all avenues when it comes to getting to the root problem of an issue. We can settle all too quickly for the first answer that comes along if it seems to fit.

  163. “From my personal experience, I can’t deny a link between the healing of my thyroid and my commitment to heal and express in full. ” what I love about this is that you know this to be true, no matter what anyone says or does not say our lived experience is what truly counts. The more we give power to this the greater our life unfolds.

  164. Dianne I love how you have researched the cause for under active thyroid function not just from the symptoms in your body and seeking medical advice and testing, but by looking at the root energetic cause- lack of commitment to life and low kidney force, including lack of expression.
Thank you for showing us your wholistic approach to your own healing.

  165. I really appreciate your comment that everyone will have their own expression that affects their kidneys which results in the manifestation in their bodies. The lack of expression for you expressed that lack of commitment to life, for someone else it might be not getting a job but what is clear is that our bodies are affected when we don’t commit and the build up of that can have enormous effects on our physical body. I am learning that we cannot look at physical symptoms without also looking at energetic causes if we want to bring about true and lasting change.

  166. “The program this set up in my body was anxiety – as soon as I would see or feel truth and intend to express it, either in words or with my whole being, up would come fear and dread of rejection and aggressive reactions and repercussions, and I’d allow this anxiety to stifle my expression.” I know this so well, and what you share here is something that I should listen to its at the moment a game of being caught in the anxiety or actually expressing what is there to be said. The more I express the less anxious yet the program still plays out and I often feel tired when I let this game continue. So now to see the link with my Thyroid and expression, even considering to just express what I feel I get anxious.

  167. What you show here Dianne is that medicine does not have all the answers and that by pursuing the technological root we are missing out on the healing that has always been offered to us through the Ageless Wisdom. Without this understanding of the body we will never get to the root cause of all our aliments and diseases,

    1. The word “technological root” is a great way of sharing how we can go to our head to make decisions and not stop to ponder that the body is sending a completely different message. The gold you have shared here Dianne is showing us that everyone has they’re way of hiding what is true yet in the long run the body puts it out for all to see. There is more here that goes beyond the disease stage that gives us an opportunity to heal what has caused the illness in the first place if we are willing to listen rather than ignore the persistent signals from your body.

  168. It is great that when I clicked on your blog and read the title I gave myself permission to feel what was going on in my throat and feel into the relationship I have with my thyroid, as currently it feels like my expression is blocked and this on some level is affecting my health. Thank you for sharing the correlation between thyroid problems – to lack of expression – lack of commitment to life – kidney ‘life force’ energy. It is deeply appreciated and something I feel I need to ponder on and address in my life ‘The esoteric explains it this way: “Hypothyroid issues are a fourth stage kidney issue [from lack of commitment to life] and not a direct result from a lack of expression issue. The process is low kidney life force -> low adrenals -> stimulated nervous system then thyroid problems.”– Serge Benhayon.

  169. I hadn’t really taken on board that broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower or beans suppress the thyroid, and looking into it a bit more seaweed is a great green to replace these more commonly used veggies.

  170. “…‘causes’ can just be the effects of something even earlier” – that is something worth considering that what we may call the cause of a disease or ailment on a physical level is not really the original cause but only the one manifested in the body or psyche for us to detect with the means of medicine and or psychology. The moment we add energy as the underlying cause of everything physical to be in the first place as taught by physics the same would be true for illness and disease as presented by Universal Medicine.

  171. Love the clarity that you offer here on getting to the root energetic cause of an illness, disease or imbalance – your willingness to look deeper at how you were living with honesty. And how this isn’t something that is done instead of seeking medical advice but done alongside and in conjunction with it.

  172. It’s beautiful to read about your dedication towards your body to truly come to the root cause of your conditions, to not be satisfied with the quick fix of the physical-based treatment of symptoms. You inspire us to trust what we feel and experiment from there to come to the answer our body is providing too, instead of the solution most people go for nowadays.

  173. The function of the glands is not an area I have studied much but oh boy, we know too well in the body when they don’t function correctly. Most women have experienced pre-menstrual tension or menopausal symptoms. We can be quite affected by imbalances and your story Dianne shows how it is good to look deeper into this.

  174. I love reading about how you have approached your healing Dianne. You have investigated all angles to uncover the source of your extreme tiredness rather than just settled for a band-aid approach.

  175. This is such an important topic to bring up for discussion as thyroid problems are escalating big time, with many being unaware that it is responsible for their condition. So important to look at all aspects as you do Dianne.

  176. The expression of love is so minimalised in our society, to the point where it seems the only way we can express it is with those 3 little words “I love you”, but that is not what is on offer. In the expression of love, though actions, through full and wonderful sentences, through genuine and open heartedness, the world of each person can change in a minute.

    1. It is true Heather, I hadn’t considered how once again this comes back to being and expressing who we are without apology – love – who we are, what we are made of and where we come from.

  177. Along with medicine and science we all have a great deal to learn from the Ageless Wisdom; for me Dianne I love learning through reading your blogs. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experiences and wisdom.

  178. Dianne I love how you share about aspects of science we normally leave to “the scientists”, yet they directly affect us each day and the truth is we are all scientists. The more we claim and make this a reality, the sooner our world will change, one person at a time.

    1. Yes the more we claim the natural scientist with-in, the more we will be willing to approach our health and well-being with a sense of wonder and realise we are key players in the cause and effect of what our bodies respond to, either in a supportive way or perhaps in an adverse way. Either way let the observations begin.

  179. Re reading your blog today Dianne what stood out to me was how it was your commitment to life through expressing that was causing your thyroid imbalance, this has inspired me to listen to my body’s messages more to see where I need to look at my commitment to life. Thank you

    1. I agree Ruth, I often find myself saying, I wish I knew why my body is reacting to this, but I realise that the more I keep practicing caring for my body the easier it becomes to understand when something is not quite right.

  180. Looking at our body and being open to the signs it offers is a very powerful choice and well worth pondering, there is meaning in it and what it shares, many of us have lost this connection, but it is ready to go whenever we are willing to reconnect.

  181. ‘The energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions, and the way we are in our bodies, can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression.’ This is huge!! At the root of all that is happening in our lives is the energy we are choosing.

  182. Dianne another great blog full of information for us to sit with and digest, I love the way you present things and the possibilities they open up for us to feel into. General Practitioners see a multitude of illnesses on a daily basis, and don’t really specialise in depth in any particular area, their main aim is to get a patient well again and that often means prescribing drugs, which brings up a question for me which is, are doctors prescribing too many drugs rather than looking deeper into the root causes, and is this a reflection of the time pressures they are under with so many in society needing to be seen, due to more people presenting with multiple symptoms.

  183. The benefits of the combination of Esoteric Medicine and traditional medicine are profound as shown by your insightful and informative descriptions.

  184. Such gold here with so many women struggling with thyroid issues. Thankyou for the depth of the information that you have shared.

  185. I have a lot of fun ‘chatting’ with my body – it is wise, insightful and light hearted – this article is a great celebration of the playfulness and inspiration of this relationship.

  186. Great to read this again, and appreciate your words about commitment to life “I was facing up to the life situation, bringing all of me to it”. I can relate to this with recent situations in my life showing me how I bury my head in the sand and block my full expression because of “nice” energy. An awesome blog Dianne that for me expands beyond diet and exercise in how lifestyle/daily choices affect our health.

  187. I love the title. That and the first few lines alone got me pondering on body parts and how largely they get ignored until something goes wrong. Are we in appreciation of our body? Or do we just rely on the body to do what we presume it can and will always do?

  188. You make it so clear Dianne that Doctors, Nutritionists and Naturopaths are not wrong but it’s the way we currently operate that leaves our medical process half done. When we bring our feelings, senses and body awareness to the party as an equal source of wisdom and truth, then our care and medical understanding gets a super turbo boost. True medicine is designed for us to engage in, get behind and bring all of our knowing to. On our own we stumble about, but working together as a team our health and understanding is guaranteed.

  189. I love the title of this blog “hello thyroid” as this has been an area that I have noticed over the years has been a source of the body I have depleted due to the way I was living. Combine a few “hello exhaustion” and “hello stress” and the answers all come back to the quality of life we are all choosing that makes the marker of how we live each day. The livingness in our body is the marker of the truth and the priority of work, others and the race to keep busy all catches up over time. I am now just starting to say a “goodbye” to the old ways thanks to the work of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine in helping the world understand the marriage that is the Western and Esoteric Medicine which is the true vitality and livingness that everyone is looking for.

  190. There are so many gems in this blog I absolutely love coming back and re-reading your words Dianne. I loved what you shared about your commitment to getting to the root of what your body was presenting to you in such a practical, broken down way for others to follow. Thank you.

  191. Your blogs are so fascinating and insightful Dianne. I love how you bring the practicalities into the science and then wrap it up in such divine wisdom. Beautiful, and makes it so accessible for everyone to understand. If you had taught me science at school I would have lapped it up!

  192. How unfortunate that modern science rejects the truth of the ageless wisdom. It is the missing piece that they don’t have. Studying someone like you would help to open their eyes.

  193. I am working on learning to connect more and more to my body and receive the quieter and gentler messages before it needs to give me the louder signs to show me in the form of illness or pain, just how our choices and energy impact on the physical well-being. A recent episode of low back pain is letting me know it is still work in progress in this area. Your way of dealing with your thyroid issue is inspiring…Hello Low Back Pain..

  194. If we are very good at reading the signals of our body when we are ill then I always wonder whether we have been equally able at reading the signals of our body beforehand?

  195. Diane, the energetic understanding you have brought to this condition and how it relates on a practical level to your committment to expressing yourself in situations that may be considered challenging is one I can relate to and totally appreciate you sharing about.

  196. “The study of energetic root causes for illness and disease is a relatively new field requiring open mindedness, not dismissal. In this situation, it’s imperative to seek deeper for the truth and not skip to conclusions.” that is so true, the energetic truth is very challenging to face, to look at yet it is the only truth that makes complete sense to me. Life just makes sense when you make it about energy first and when you don’t everything does not make sense. The key however is being open and allowing oneself to feel what is true not resort to what we taught is the normal, for we are in truth living very un-normal.

  197. I love the understanding of scientific research here Dianne and how the inquiry you have made has brought through a much deeper understanding of your body and wellness. Your openness to the ‘Ancient Wisdom’ Teachings has added another dimension to our relationship to life and the impact on our body. Our body is ‘Living Wisdom’ and it is right there available to us everyday yet we discount all that it reflects to us and continually choose what is available from outside of us. Everything shared here can be taken and applied to numerous symptoms we experience and with support from Western Medicine a healing outcome is available. Thanks Dianne.

  198. “This ‘inner experiment’ would be called unscientific by the mainstream. But the mainstream is missing a lot of truth and only has a part of the picture.” This is such a revealing sentence on how we can give our power and own authority to another body when it is clear that they do not hold the understanding of the reasons for illness and disease. Currently Medicine offers many solutions but very little connection back to the true cause, this is where your ‘true inner scientific experiments’ claim their true authority Dianne and are absolutely inspiring in taking responsibility for our well-being.

  199. Interesting that modern science and chemistry have ultimately confirmed what you felt all along. Sometimes it’s easy to give our innate knowing away because there have been scientific studies done which contradict what we felt all along. I, like many others, have done this and am now working on trusting that feeling deep down. I know the more I trust myself the louder and clearer that knowing voice will be heard.

  200. Dianne- Thank you so much for clarifying what hypothyroidism actually is all about on an energetic level as well as physical level. Great to hear how you were able to reverse it by dealing with the energetic cause and altering diet, as well as taking nutritional supplements. It has been invaluable as I have recently been diagnosed with thyroiditis, and show physical symptoms of underactive thyroid gland.

  201. I learn so much from reading, and rereading, your blogs Dianne; they are so full of common sense, knowledge and wisdom and are so interesting to read. To deeply listen and respond to my bodies ‘call’ seems to be the message I take away and deepen every time, thank you for the inspiration.

  202. Dealing with a thyroid issue myself, this has been super helpful and what you have shared has made a lot of sense. I have been processing a lot of what this thyroid condition means for me personally. A lot of it reflects having held back expressing the truth that I know and feel and have done most of my life. So as well as treating the physical, I am also changing how I express and am in the world also.

    1. When we express truth with love we are much more powerful – and beautiful – than when we are not, in my experience.

      1. It is the truth expressed in love that opens up another layer called UNDERSTANDING. No matter the situation we can be in. When we bring understanding there is nothing but an opportunity for another to feel that we are all on the same page and express in different ways.

  203. Thank you for the clarity and depth of understanding that you share here Dianne re the pre-physical origins of hypothyroid issues. At it’s core everything is energy and so it makes complete sense to me to be willing to look at this level of life to get greater understanding of what is going on in the physical.

  204. I whole heartedly agree that modern medicine has a lot to learn from the ageless wisdom of the body and soul. Time to bring Union!

  205. It is fascinating to read how quickly Dianna’s body corrected itself when there was a commitment to one part of her life she was holding back from – this just goes to show that we are not at the mercy of our illnesses.

  206. What a beautiful an inspirational understanding of the thyroid glad and our life and health and responsibility for this. Our bodies as you share here Dianne are remarkable and show us so much and this for us to listen to. “I can’t deny a link between the healing of my thyroid and my commitment to heal and express in full. When I made the commitment, I was facing up to the life situation, bringing all of me to it and thus renewing my commitment to life and evolution. Up would come my kidney life force energy, followed by the re-balancing of the whole system, and quickly too! Now that is true medicine, and true science!”

  207. Thank you, Dianne. This blog has been really useful to me, and prompted a deeper exploration of my own underlying lack of commitment to life – what that actually means and what it looks like in every day life. Now that I have really clocked it, it feels like there are different choices to be made.

  208. Thats pretty awesome to make the link between having the symptoms of low thyroid (sluggish, tired, needing more sleep etc) yet also having energy for physical and mental activity… which you recognised was coming from nervous system… So many of us probably do the same… that is use nervous stimulation as our source of energy but then this too has an end point of deeper exhaustion for the body.

  209. Its so true Dianne, how often do we think about our Thyroid glands, or heart, or kidneys for example? The life we lead makes it convenient to focus on the images and ideals we have in our minds, forever moving our body to these constructs, and experiencing emotions, but only think about the harmonious function of the body when there is a serious pain or symptom!

    1. Great Point Harry, perhaps if we focused on feeling the harmony of our working healthy body we would spend less time in our minds in thoughts and the potential reactions to these thoughts, which in my experience never leaves me with feeling harmonious.

  210. I have realised how easy it is to put up with feeling a bit sluggish and that becomes the normal. It is partly because the onset is quite insidious and not like a severe pain so when we aren’t paying enough attention to our health, we aren’t noticing the signs. And it is also easy to dismiss a bit of lethargy, it could simply be a sign of ageing that we think we don’t want to bother anyone about. But recently, I decided to have some tests and found there are some recordings from my blood tests that could be better so have started a programme of supplements specifically for me with the support of a naturopath. Although it is early days, I am feeling how this choice is making me feel much more vital because I am caring for myself more deeply. Also it is not surprising that my expression is changing too, everything is connected.

  211. I can read this over and over again and learn something vital every time. Today my learning is that committing to life are not just words, nor is it about staying in the comfort of thinking we are committed to life. Tonight it has shone a very bright light on the fact that committing to life is committing, in full, to life and all it holds right now. We are so very quick to discount the grandness of ourselves, yet it is this grandness that is to be committed to and all that it honestly brings.

  212. For me it’s become an undeniable fact that what I eat changes the way I feel. I also recognise that that way I feel impacts on how I am… and that ‘how I am’ has come about through every other choice I’ve made up to that ‘how I am’. So how important then is that very first choice of energy that impulses each one of those choices, that will either lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression.

  213. Thank you for this information about hypothyroidism, Dianne. It makes so much sense that a lack of commitment to life would seriously reduce our vitality, requiring us to call on other parts of the body for fuel.

    1. I agree Janet and what comes up for me here also is looking at what commitment in life means to me – to be more aware of how I’m choosing to be in all situations and be willing to keep letting that evolve.

  214. Marrying up the energetic side of why illness and disease presents with the medical side is the only way forward. Dianne what you have illustrated here is that when you look at both sides, true healing can occur.

  215. That what is presented by the Ageless Wisdom is already known by all, we only have chosen to neglect it and instead have chosen for a way of living in disconnection with this wisdom. Ultimately this way of living is causing all kinds of illness and disease in our bodies because they do belong and naturally correspond to that wisdom too. That said, reintroducing the Ageless Wisdom into our lives will naturally restore the healthy functions in our human bodies as this is responding to the energy that we chose to live with.

  216. Thank you Dianne for explaining so simply the process of getting to the root cause – superb!

  217. Dianne I was amazed that one in twenty people have a thyroid condition and how common this is yet how few of us actually know what a Thyroid gland is.

  218. “The energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions, and the way we are in our bodies, can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression. I learned this from Serge Benhayon, and found from my own experience that it is true.” I too have learnt this from Serge, and it is something that I now also know from my own lived experience. The more I open up to this way of living, the more I am learning about what is possible, which includes changes in how my body is.

    1. Me too Sandra, I am so glad that I have met Serge Benhayon as what he is presenting is coming from a source we all know so well but have not learned to live with in our current societies. The fact that everything is energy and that everything is because of energy (SB) has never been told to me before but make so much sense. The quality of our lives has a direct relationship with the quality of energy we chose to live from as I too have experienced myself in not only huge changes in my body but in my whole being, including energy levels, vitality and joy in life.

  219. It is quite remarkable just how much the body responds back when it is given the right conditions, care and nurturing it needs. From ill health to improved and vital health… just by making some healthy choices.

  220. ‘..trying to push myself to keep going only made it worse’ – I can’t think of a scenario where ‘pushing through’ (save giving birth perhaps!) actually benefits our bodies or makes us feel any better in the long term, but when we’re ill or exhausted it seems to be the go-to thing to do! What would be the drawbacks of taking some time to understand what’s going on in our body and then looking at how we can change it? As opposed to fighting and battling any signs of physical weakness without a second of space for the body to communicate what’s really going on.

  221. Our bodies are so finely tuned and intuitive to any digressions away from our natural rhythms and this really takes self responsibility to a whole new level. There is a bit of work to do so mankind views mainstream medicine in a different way and not just a panacea for all our ills!

    1. Nothing short of our natural rhythms speaks volumes to us everyday. The wake up calls or slight niggles are all there to bring us back to the quality we know we can all live.

  222. Another thing about the thyroid that I read recently is the fact that sugar consumption lowers the production of T3; is it possible that there are many more truths to discover that would directly affect our lifestyle choices? If we take responsibility that is rather than leave it to pharmacology to rescue us from ourselves.

  223. Great question, low thyroid or not! “In what ways have I been allowing my expression to be suppressed?” I would rather ask this as at the moment I still like broccoli, cabbage and sprouts! There is so much we can learn from you and I agree mainstream science currently does not see just how important things like the energy of our choices is: ‘This ‘inner experiment’ would be called unscientific by the mainstream. But the mainstream is missing a lot of truth and only has a part of the picture.’ It is amazing that when we truly start to commit to life so much is healed, this is still a learning for me.

  224. Thank you Dianne, I love the way you present us with so much wisdom and knowledge. Listening to what the body needs and expresses followed by our choice to take responsibility and respond is the key. I really appreciate how you do this.

    1. That word responsibility keeps being the focal point in all that we do. How often is our expression held back when the body is itching for it to come through? What is powerful in this blog is understanding that expressing who we are and what is there to support another is paramount. What I have learnt over the years is if I go into an ounce of reaction the harm is felt for both and the way to move forward in building a body that expresses with understanding takes a longer. Here is where the detail and intention of all our actions and expression are vital in bringing us closer to one another and always allowing the space for another to be.

  225. Anxiety is a killer. It can literally freeze us into silence. The effect of this on the body is one that you have beautifully explained here. It’s great to read of how you turned your condition around.

  226. Medicine and science do indeed have so much to learn from the Ancient Wisdom… This becomes more and more apparent as one listens to science programs and the extraordinary deep cavernous holes that are in their knowledge where the more advanced scientists simply say we don’t know… And who better to to present than you Dianne, with your wonderful writing.

  227. I so related to the old pattern you shared of blocking your expression Dianne and found your commitment when you exposed what the pattern was, inspirational. “It starts now” is what I am taking into my day. Thank you.

  228. I love how Serge Benhayon draws a link between a lack of commitment to life and thyroid disease – naming it as a fourth stage kidney issue. What is so particular about this is that by tracing the illness back to something as simple as commitment to life we are empowered to make the necessary changes to how we live and move our bodies so that this illness is not debilitating but in fact an opportunity to address deeper issues which have yet to be resolved.

  229. I too had a real aversion to anything ‘cabbagey’ as a child, and very often was told I was a fussy eater. But I really didn’t like these vegetables and they made me feel quite unwell. Perhaps we should pay more attention to what foods we like and dislike as children – it could give us a real insight into the body’s needs and imbalances and given the right treatment then, could potentially prevent bigger and more complex health problems later on in life.

  230. Universal Medicine Therapies are a great complement to medicine because they encourage people to trace back ‘to the energetic origins of illness’ which means that the root cause is addressed and if we do this hand in hand with treating the symptoms we can address our health issues so they do not recur. Dianne, by seeing the link between your thyroid issues and your ‘commitment to heal and express in full’ and by being willing to make the changes, you have demonstrated how quickly we can turn our life around and it’s never too late to do so.

  231. There is so much that is valuable and supportive in what you have written Dianne. And also in the writings of the people who have added their comments. I found it particularly relevant having been given a medical diagnosis of sub-clinical hypothyroidism. I feel as if I now have a path to follow in dealing with this…in learning to listen more to my body. Thank- you. In addition to that, when you wrote about new age correlation of thyroid and expression and then went on to ‘test’ this for yourself, I felt this as a great gift. I love how you went there, in full awareness, completely focussed on knowing what is true for you….and kept on moving deeper. At this moment I am struggling with my expression about the significance of that for me. It has to do with me having been deeply immersed in new age modalities and in struggle with well what do I do with all that learning and experience. Since joining Uni Med, I am seeing now that I have been afraid of all that and quite held back as a result. I am not drawn to the new age books or the modalities now and haven’t been for years even before joining Uni-Med. Your expression in its simplicity and openness is powerful as it is, the fact …and also the way, that you wrote you also have some of this new age information as part of what you are aware of, is for me so supportive in helping to let go of previously unacknowledged fear and self-judgement.

  232. The title of this article alone totally does it for me. Starting a conversation with my body has been revealing, inspiring, incredibly educational and has presented me with great insight into my life and where we are as a race.

  233. Just another example of going to the root energetic cause of a physical symptom and reversing it by changing our behaviours. The body just reflects what we are not allowing to be our natural way, giving us the side affects as an alert for us to consider and choose to change.

  234. It is truly incredible when we combine Western Medicine with Esoteric Medicine. To develop an understanding that the way we are living is having a direct effect in how the body communicates our ills is pure science. There is so much to be studied here for our future generations.

  235. Dianne, your sharing here is inspiring and reminding us that addressing the ills in our body can be fun as well as hugely evolving. It is not a burden to get annoyed with, and neither is our body which is constantly nudging us to be more, explore more of ourselves and express more and more of who we are to the wider world.

  236. Recently I have had opportunities to express truth in a new relationship and I have found that it made me nervous doing so feeling the reactions of a new partner, and yet if expression is being held back in such a close relationship, it would be irresponsible to not reflect all that I am, which is the truth of all relationships. But deepening in the relationship with myself, expression is deepening with observation and understanding to each other. When I held back expression, not only did my energy levels dropped, when I expressed without full understanding to another, my throat would hurt. My body is guiding my every choice.

  237. A healthy thyroid is a requirement for an all over health body, and I wonder how many of us don’t have that and don’t know it? Great article about the power of living on our body.

  238. A great example of true medicine and true science in partnership, yes. Enabled through that most essential of ingredients in managing our wellbeing – self-responsibility.

  239. 360 turn around… There’s so much more to expressing truth then what we realise, having the willingness and dedication to look at all possibilities really does open the door to true healing.

  240. ‘choices and energy impact the physical wellbeing and medical conditions of the body’ when we become aware of the energy we have aligned to, which is the consciousness that feeds every thought, then we can understand that how we think about ourselves is based on that alignment, and if we wish to appreciate ourselves with true love, then love is what we must choose to align with.

  241. Such a powerful testament to the truth we hold within, and how we can let it guide us back to healing, if we but nurture our ability to tune in and listen.

  242. I love the way you approach your organs, Dianne. It is obvious what a loving relationship you have with them, in this example your thyroid.

  243. The playfulness in the title of this article ‘smiled’ me again today. If I can be this playful with my dialogue with my body then I open up to a much deeper and tenderer relationship with myself, others and life.

  244. It is often the case when we receive a pain or ache, an illness or problem that we pay more attention to our body – and after some time we will realise our body is made to always be deeply connected to.

  245. I love how you became master of your health, how you looked at all aspects and made new choices that supported you and your health.

  246. This is great sharing of your own lived experience Dianne so thank you.
The bit that sticks out is when you say “as soon as I would see or feel truth and intend to express it, either in words or with my whole being, up would come fear and dread of rejection and aggressive reactions and repercussions, and this fear would stifle my expression.” So many of us could relate to this fear and I for one was in this once upon a time. Thanks to the teachings of Serge Benhayon I made a commitment to express and keep expressing no matter what came at me.
I have come to realise that I am here on this earth to learn and live to the best of my ability saying it as it is with no holding back. You don’t become popular but you do get to feel more settled inside your body.
I feel it is so important to express what we feel consistently, as you say we are harming not only ourself but another too, “by denying them the opportunity for greater awareness.”

  247. What an incredible example of true medicine and science. I love how you took your own life in to your own hands and made it very simple. This simplicity is in fact what I reckon you brought back to the doctor – the simple choice of expression and self-care. How fundamentally important for everyone to know that this is possible…

  248. Learning to tune into our inner guidance system works wonders! and so we can benefit greatly from, but no longer are we at the mercy of a medical system that holds great expertise, but is also full of contradictions and bias. And in this we can all step up to the next level of responsibility and understanding that is on offer.

  249. I love the fact that we are are own scientific experiment and if something is not working for us we can tune in and listen to our bodies and work out what needs to be let go of and where we need to step up to the mark and address issues we have shied away from.

  250. Wow, that has given me a pause to really consider the power of expression and how the lack of it impacts our bodies physically!! Everything we choose has a consequence whether seen or unseen and your point about choosing the energy that we do things in is a small but fundamental point. “how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression.”

  251. Challenging yes, impossible no – I love your attitude Diane and the joy, curiosity and wonder I can feel in this exploration of how your body works. It’s inspiring to see that sometimes the pieces of the puzzle take a while to drop into place, but we should never lose heart or fascination with our body experiment.

  252. It is absolutely amazing how changing our behaviour patterns has such an impact on our blood chemistry and general health and well-being.

  253. This is so interesting Dianne that the energy of choices, and how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression. It is understandable how we go into emotions sometimes when the hormones are out of balance. They play such a crucial part in our wellbeing, and how well we are in the first place affects the levels of the hormones, which comes first? It’s a chicken and egg scenario.

  254. A great expose on true medicine Dianne, thank you. I love that in your presentations truth, love and wisdom shine.

  255. It is music to my ears to read your understanding of the effects of holding back your expression on your thyroid function. We have much to consider and learn about how we hold and conduct ourselves in life can contribute to either harmony or disharmony in our bodies.

  256. It’s awesome that you reversed your low thyroid from committing more to looking after yourself and making a few simple, responsible choices in your diet based on the advice from the doctor and from what you felt – perhaps there are other conditions that could be turned around through this deeper level of care too.

  257. I love how you naturally felt how certain foods did not support you with your sluggish thyroid. Imagine if we listened to our bodies around all of other choices that may impact it.

  258. ‘Then I’d react by either getting away from the person as quickly as possible, or silencing and shrinking myself, calibrating my expression down to let them stay in their comfort zone.’ ‘We are very good at avoiding conflict, but holding back does not help evolution for, if we don’t express, how will they learn anything?

    1. And in the process of holding back, we suffer too. We get sick as Dianne’s example shows, we also end up feeling less confident, less capable of expressing and avoid healing the issue that triggered us in the first place. It is a downward spiral.

  259. When we listen to our body it knows exactly what it can and cannot eat. We just don’t like what it tells us so on the whole we ignore it, thus we pay the consequences with illness and disease…when will we learn???

  260. We can live in a way that says we don’t know anything but that’s a lie, everything we need to know is in our bodies – all we have to do is listen.

  261. This is indeed true medicine and true science – working together, as it needs to be.

  262. How awesome and how inspiring are the changes we can make when we take responsibility for our own health.

  263. I love your blogs Diane, it’s a full circle round the sun leaving no stops unchecked. You ae a master of true medicine.

  264. ‘…as the Ageless Wisdom Teachings explain, ‘expression’ is much more than physical actions like speaking and singing. Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result. ‘ Expression is in every movement and breath we take, every thought and sound we make.

  265. It is interesting how old patterns of activity resurface from time to time – we may think we are resting, keeping our body tender, then get into a distracting conversation and afterwards realise that our body has gone into old patterns of hardness, buzziness, which is what led to the illness. Our everyday conversation also needs to be with full body awareness.

  266. What I love about this blog, is when I read the title “Hello Thyroid” to me it is also saying “Hello World!”, as from understanding the holding back patterns of expression as the activity you decided to change, you really were speaking up and in effect saying “Hello World!”… It’s pretty awesome how our change of behaviour patterns can have such an impact on our blood chemistry and body’s health.

  267. We may think we are confident in our expression but when it comes to staying steady with our choices while others are living differently, it is more challenging. I sometimes find myself saying yes to something to go along, rather than saying no. No would be truth, yes is irresponsible.

  268. The cuteness of this dialogue and what it offers in developing a respectful, listening relationship with our bodies is huge… I am humbled and inspired by and learn so much from my body these days.

  269. On pondering the ways that our glands work in the body, I have been wondering how much we can affect them, and thus the whole stasis of our entire bodies, by overriding the messages that our glands give. For example, when I do not honour the fact that I may be genuinely hungry (and not just eating for comfort) then wouldn’t that act be contributory to an imbalance thought my whole body, as it then tries to find other ways of supporting itself – perhaps by making the nervous system go in to overdrive? If this is true, then it highlights the fact that we really do have an impact on our own health and wellbeing just by the choices that we make.

  270. “Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result. So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?” now this brings the real healing and real depth to conditions, as you say there is the obvious that is a great step but them there is the much bigger picture – the fact of energy and its wider outplay which is more important than anything.

  271. As women we know how our hormone system can affect us through our lives from premenstrual tension to menopausal symptoms. These small glands have a huge impact to our equilibrium and you have supported yourself by your understanding and knowing in your body what has been happening to your thyroid. Tuning in to that meaning and your expression plus a few minor changes has given you the ability to heal yourself.

  272. Dianne your comment in this blog about expression being way more than just what we speak and say has really stuck with me the last few weeks since reading it – it has deepened my understanding to know that expression is any movement that I make including thoughts and the energetic quality of these movements seems critical in terms of our overall health.

  273. I like the way how you appreciate this little organ in your body. If we would appreciate every organ in our body with equal care and listen to the voice of them we would grow out of our victimazed attitude concerning illness.

  274. Diane, this is amazing to read, ‘rapid reversal of low thyroid function by simply looking at my expression and putting the awareness into practice’, it makes sense that how we express affects this area of our body, I know that if I am not expressing what I am feeling or I’m holding back or speaking in an angry way then I get a sore throat, everything is linked and there is a reason for all our illness and disease, its great to get the root cause and then we have the power to make changes as you did Dianne.

  275. The fear of our expression leads to the calibration of how much we are going to show ourselves to others. It is like we let out tiny pieces of ourselves and wait to see whether it causes a reaction or disturbance before we let out another tiny piece. But we know how harming it is for ourselves and of course others are denied the reflection we can bring being ourselves in full. We can so easily work in dumping the fear and everything changes.

  276. This is a great and much needed sharing. Often we can think that these things are out of our hands and expect the medical profession to come up with all the solutions without us doing our part to ensure our health. Thank you for sharing your story.

  277. Being nice and suppressing the truth is not inconsequential, the energy stagnates in your body and is the root of illness. Our ill behaviors manifest physically as illness in our bodies. our bodies heal and recover remarkably well when we take responsibility and address the behavior.

  278. Oh Dianne this is a great example of esoteric medicine; where responsibility relationships, truth, science, and medicine all come together. The result is lasting healing, not just managing symptoms.

  279. ‘My doctor had the inspiration to test my thyroid function.’ – It is great to know that some doctors are more open to listen to what they feel is true in that moment, and not just going through their ‘check list’.

  280. Love how practical and body centric your blogs are Dianne. It’s great to hear how the body educates us, written through your gorgeous and very scientific microscope!

  281. This really is true medicine and true science Dianne, thank you for your amazing sharing it really does make one stop and evaluate one’s life and our choices and our attitude to our bodies, our health and our way of living and what medicine really is.

  282. I always love reading your blogs Dianne as you are as real as they get, practical, intelligent and true, what a package! When science is looked at by more scientists the way that you do and we all learn to feel what is good and true for each of us and as a collective, things will really start to heat up.

  283. Wow! Dianne, what you have shared is a miracle of listening to your body with some simple research and it was for only one part of the body. What would happen if every aspect of our body was put through the same level of detail?

  284. It’s amazing to read your willingness to not only be open to the awareness that can be gained through connection with the body but then acting upon that awareness in a way that is not focused on being perfect but open to learning along the way. Thank you.

  285. Yes, Dianne, in the end it all comes down to “the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions” and this is a constant choice that keeps us in the flow or precipitates illness and disease.

  286. How wonderful to be observing your body in the way you do Dianne – feeling everything. It really does bring the awareness that we need to get to the root of our problems – physical and emotional.

  287. Dianne I completely enjoy (re)reading your post and feeling your expression as you write…. you make science the joy that it is, and the science of the body, the love that it is.

  288. The more I give myself permission to truly express what I am feeling the more I get to realise that the beliefs I may be holding about why not to express are completely false. Ironically, it is through expression that these false beliefs are released and cleared.

  289. Wow Dianne that is extremely profound. Could it be the reason ‘that doesn’t happen’ is because we rarely address the energetic root cause, in this case lack of true expression. I am glad you went there and shared it with us.

  290. Great point Dianne that expression and communication includes way more than just what we say with our voice and that we are communicating far more with our bodies in every moment. I have noticed that just how I move and hold my posture can either say ‘here I am and I feel great just being me’ or ‘please excuse my existence’. When I choose the latter I don’t feel so great in my body – there is a tightness and an exhaustion that comes with this which shows that clearly it is not good for us.

  291. So we get to see a much bigger picture. One that incorporates not just how we treat ourselves physically, but also how we communicate with ourselves, the quality of our internal dialogue, which is then the foundation for our expression and connection with others out in the world… this is beautiful in terms of responsibility and the opportunity to be in our own driving seats, as it were.

  292. ‘What we’re talking about here is energy: not the calories, kilojoules, metabolism type of energy, but the energy of choices, and how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions.’ – everything in life comes down to a choice, often we don’t want to acknowledge this as we don’t want to feel the responsibility.

  293. I can really relate here personally to holding back my expression due to the projected fear of the repercussions Dianne and it is awesome how you have exposed this as a story or a picture that is not in fact true and that you were able to break through this old program or pattern and overcome the fear of expression. This is very inspiring thank you for sharing it so clearly.

  294. This is such a great blog and it shows just how much power we have to change our own health by making changes to the way we live. Sure sometimes things go too far and we do need medications and other medical interventions, but is it possible we are generally reaching too fast for the quick medical fix before considering the all the other factors at play?

    1. Great question. What if in the pause before reaching for the quick fix medication we can get a glimpse of the cascade of choices that have led to any particular symptom and that we then realise that different choices will have different outcomes.

      1. I agree, it is soo easy to want to quick fix or an answer to something but what if by doing that we are missing out on the lesson and the steps to fully see everything that is at play. I am not advocating not seeking medical help, as I know you are not either, but simply taking a moment to refelct and go ok why is this happening to me? what choices have I been making? etc.. goes a long way to meaning that I will not repeat whatever it was that led me to this place, otherwise, I know from experience, it is easy to seek the fix and then find myself repeating the same thing!

  295. There definitely is a science in that different parts of our bodies represent different ways of being and living, but it is not yet recognised by traditional science or western medicine. That doesn’t matter because we can be scientists in our own right every day because the answers are always with us in our own bodies.

  296. Dianne this shows an amazing truth about feeling into our own bodies and what they are telling us all the time and combining this with conventional medicine and our daily choices.True medicine and true science beautiful!

  297. Lately I’ve seen how I’ve been holding back my expression…not so much in calling out things, but actually in expressing the love I feel for people either in words or in my movements. It is like having the handbrake on in the car and really hurts my body. And so, by expressing more, I’ve felt a change in how my body feels.

    1. This is a great analogy Sandra and one that I can really relate to. Our expression is so much more than what we say and do, and is reflected in our every movement. Feeling it’s time to release the tension on the handbrake before something snaps!

  298. With the level of awareness you offer here Dianne – it would be so very supportive to start to recognize the signs early. What if there was someone in our lives when we are showing the very start of the disposition to certain potential future health situations? With the early evidence you already were aware of and perhaps coupled with the understanding that expression could be a possible area for expansion, possibly a potential thyroid imbalance could be pre-treated by simply honouring the child/teenager with the support and openness to say what is there to be said.

  299. What I’m struck with here are the contradictions our bodies can cope with, on the one hand your body knew unconsciously what you needed to eat/not eat to support its thyroid function, yet on the other hand the thyroid was out of balance but you could override/or substitute this fundamental vitality – looking forwards to that whole other story Dianne!

  300. Calibrating our expression harms our body but it also affects the other person. We might hold back saying something for fear of not hurting someone but by doing this we are “denying them the opportunity for greater awareness” which harms them as well as ourselves.

  301. Dianne, now this is really getting to the root cause of things and how great to observe this in yourself and reverse your thyroid condition without having to resort to medication. It demonstrates how important it is to get to the root cause of things and not just treat the symptoms. Most people would go on taking the medication for the rest of their life without really addressing the issue. It does take some self-discipline and a willingness to change old patterns but you have shown how it is possible to do so.

  302. Re reading your blog Dianne reaffirms the need for us to truly listen to our bodies, and not shy away from expressing the truth in our everyday lives.

  303. Wow, this is a vivid testimonial that our bodies do know if we do not override them with our so called intelligence.

  304. This is a true example of the marriage of understanding energetically what goes on in our bodies with what can present physically, so thank you Dianne, such a great expose on how one can take responsibility for our own healing and development.

  305. Truly inspiring when our health and healing comes from following our bodies wisdom.

  306. I love the way you chose to reflect on what aspects of life, what patterns and what reactions might have contributed to that part of your body being compromised. Amusing that this was introduced as “Now for some scientific testing, in a way that science would call ‘unscientific’!” because I find such reflections offer the foundation for true science: deepening and expanding our understanding of life and the universe. The understanding has to start from somewhere, what a better place for them to originate than our own lived experience.

  307. The body is a complex machine that is very sensitive, so needs constant fine tuning to keep it in balance. It communicates to us in many ways, and does many corrections automatically for us. By suppressing something, we get the message how we are suppressing ourselves in some way, as you describe with the thyroid Dianne. The body communicates through movements, through signals from the nervous system giving us pain, and through making us feel unwell when we need to look in depth at something. It constantly makes readjustments for us, thank you amazing body.

  308. It is amusing how the most scientific testing, could be considered ‘unscientific’!
On another note this description is spot on Dianne. . . “speak truth – get slammed; see truth and expose that which is uncomfortable for someone else – get attacked; stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy – get rejected, belittled, punished” . . . sounds like good reasons to not express, reasons that I can certainly relate to. And by the way you have covered all my reactions as well. I love rereading this blog as it reminds me that I am not my fears or my reactions if I stay connect to me and bring in the understanding expression comes easily.

  309. A great question to explore fully, ‘So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?’ I know for me I am re-learning to express fully, thank you for sharing your findings on this Dianne.

  310. ‘So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?’ Learning the correlation between the body part and how it relates to our choices is truly supportive. If I know that my throat relates to expression, that my kidneys relate to life force, my breasts to self nurture, knees to moving forward and there is an issue with any of them, then honestly asking myself where and how I am holding back or lacking in these areas has got to ultimately be the most responsible way to begin the self healing process.

    1. Michelle if we were all to incorporate the knowledge that you have about the body, naturally into our lives then we would be able to support ourselves and others to move towards honesty and understanding and from there to true healing.

  311. Taking the time to tune into how you feel, and be honest with yourself stands as such a caring decision from my perspective. Such care for self is honouring, and confirms you are worth much.

  312. I recently had a situation where I had 4 weeks in which to heal a part of my body before surgery may have been required. I also looked at the energetic reason that this was happening and set up making changes to that, and I also looked at what I was eating. I returned on Friday to find out it had healed and no surgery required!

The combination of esoteric medicine and western medicine is a pretty potent one and one that I highly recommend.

    1. Another great example of western medicine combined with esoteric medicine, this truly holistic approach is the only way I have found that works.

  313. It’s really very telling when we wait till we are in a bit of a low point – pending significant issue looming or there is nothing left to lose so to speak, before we take the responsibility to speak out, to back and support ourselves when faced with situations that are uncomfortable. Why is communication between people set up this way? If we can shift the awareness as you have Dianne to addressing whatever is there, then everyone benefits. Let’s not wait for illness, disease or issues to develop before we share what is true for us.

  314. There is so much Gold in this blog Dianne, but the most I really love is how you have been inspired and put into practice looking at the situation with both sets of eyes…. Being able to see on an energetic level your expression was being suppressed and causing the dis-harmony in the body and that also there were some practical changes that meant you could support yourself even more. Super cool and as you say the outcome was very positive. Thanks for sharing.

  315. This is so intersting Dianne, and it makes me ponder about children and their likes and dislikes when it comes to food and if there is more to it than simply children being ‘fussy eaters’. Both my children had very strong aversions to certain foods when they were little, but the pressure on them and me to get them to eat a ‘normal diet’ was huge, and I bought into that as at the time I didn’t know (or at least thought I didn’t) any better. If we really paid attention to these strong feelings of dislikes from an early age, I have no doubt we would avert all kinds of problems later on in our lives, and not just medcial ones.

  316. Until recently I was working part time and it was noticeable how exhausted I felt after a busy day at work. Knowing that I was physically fit enough for the level of physical activity at work, there had to be something else that was exhausting me. Usually I’d go home and eat my way back into feeling comfortable, but stopping first and tuning into what I’d been like during my day made a huge difference. I realised that I had got so sucked into the busyness that I lost my connection with me, which meant I was physiologically fighting myself all day, no wonder I was exhausted! Now I’m full time at home, pending a surgical procedure, and I have an opportunity to work on staying consciously present and connected to my body and what it is doing, how it is feeling, in every moment.

  317. Dianne, I love that you asked yourself this question, “In what ways have I been allowing my expression to be suppressed?”I feel inspired to ask myself this question too.

  318. It is very inspiring to read Dianne, how you observe yourself and your body and experiment in this case with expression and a closer look at your diet. Our body is such a fine tuned instrument and you really know to play with it.

  319. ‘In fact, the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction.’ This is a key learning for all of our communications, and requires us to take care to be fully present in all that we do, say and think.

  320. Thank you Dianne for a very inspiring blog- confirming that our body knows how to heal itself when we truly listen to it and understand energetically why we have attracted a certain illness.

  321. An amazing sharing Dianne a real inspiration from ” rapid reversal of low thyroid function by simply looking at my expression and putting the awareness into practice, plus a little bit of tweaking of diet!
Now that is true medicine, and true science! “I agree whole heartedly.

  322. Each and every body is an environment for the most amazing scientific research. How amazing that our body actually communicates with us what we need. As well as teaching us how to move and be with ourselves. And if we don’t listen it’s got illness and disease to offer us the necesarry correction. How inspiring to read that we’ve got the power to make exactly those choices that our body needs / is asking for. So are we to live recklessly without giving our bodies a say in how we live OR are we actually to follow and be completely in tune with our bodies?

  323. Very inspiring blog Dianne, I too was diagnosed with low thyroid but since deepening and developing my expression, it has improved heaps and the symptoms have gone. Each time I express I can feel how I have more energy and when I hold back I can feel how I get tired. It is that simple, if we truly allow our self to be aware of what is going on in our bodies.

  324. As Serge Benhayon has said many times “Expression is Everything”. If we all paid more attention to this, we could potentially change a whole lot of things about our lives and our health. The impact could be enormous in so many ways.

  325. ‘Thus my first action when I got home from the doctor was to ‘tune into myself’’ It is so great when we can combine the expertise of conventional western medicine with our own self awareness and pay attention to the way we are living and expressing, the two combined present a powerful support for our true health.

  326. Isn’t it amazing when you do start to pay closer attention to your body and the foods it wants or calls for and then discover they help and support whatever ailment you might have… I recall in the past having an unexpected ‘need’ for a certain fruit, i just had to eat it, and then few days later became down with flu and discovered that this fruit had a particular enzyme in it to support my body through its [subsequent] clearing…and interestingly post the bout of flu, found I was no longer able to consume that particular fruit for the sugar head rush I got from it(!).

  327. Dianne, I love how you think more broadly – how the thyroid represents the throat and expression and hence if we have a thyroid or throat condition, it is about working on expression and allowing our natural way to come out.

  328. Our hormones influence us hugely whether premenstrually or whether they are under or over active. They are an area we tend not to pay much attention to and have very little understanding of. You have shone a light into the deeper workings of the thyroid Dianne, I would love to know more about other glands with their energetic meanings too, my feeling is they are all equally important to maintaining a healthy body.

  329. ‘Our bodies really do know what’s right and not right for them’ – So true Dianne, and no matter how we dress up our disregarding choices the body always responds and shows us what is and isn’t supportive.

  330. Although I have studied anatomy and physiology fairly extensively, I must admit that the thyroid, like many parts of the body, are a little bit of a mystery to me. Yet I understand now that I don’t need to be able to detail the workings of the thyroid, or any system or part of the body to know my body intimately and that this knowing relates to how I respond to the signs that forever arise. It’s quite important we all see ourselves as experts and take responsibility for our health and wellness.

    1. This is a brilliant point Stephen. There is a place for the medical expert which is currently important for where we are in our evolution as a race, and yet, as you say, and as Dianne demonstrates, we do not have to been a learned expert to know what is going on in our own body and how we are feeling. This has an equally important part to play in our healing. In this way we can benefit from the expert’s knowledge and experience, without giving away our power, and have a true relationship with each other and the healing process. And, as Dianne has so well blogged about, it is our way of living that brings the most powerful healing . . .with the aid of food or medicine to support this.

    2. This is a great point Stephen, we are the ones that know our bodies best and can read the signs it shows us. It is our expertise in our own bodies that offers the foundational support to care for ourselves and incorporate the support of the science of medicine. Two sciences co-responding to what is called for.

  331. “Off I went back to my doctor for the follow-up thyroid function test results. She was gobsmacked because the result was normal! She said that ‘never happens!’” – Diane such a joy to read, i’m smiling, and i wonder how much of it was down to the energetic awareness and in this changing your choices [speaking up more/seeing truth without reprise], and the food stuff/diet changes. I guess we’ll never know for sure where the balance did lie or was, though in tandem, both did the trick to highlight the integral or spherical response nature of our body, or should that be plural and ‘bodies’ when talking about energy!

  332. Thanks Dianne for your inspirational story. It shows the changes that are possible in our body when a commitment is made to making energetic adjustments in our daily life in response to what our body is communicating to us.

  333. ‘In fact, the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction.’ – Dianne this is super important, we can all contribute to a true change. What we express, i.e. what we put out, is our choice – how others respond to it is their choice. It all comes down to responsibility.

  334. Thank you Dianne, I love reading your blogs! Always up for questioning and experimenting rather than taking things on face value – you offer true wisdom in such a relatable way.

  335. Something interesting with regard to Thyroid Testing: when doctors test my blood for signs of a hyperactive thyroid they look for three things: Hormone T4 (Thyroxine), T3 (triiodothyronine) and TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). My T3 and T4 are well within the normal range now, but because my TSH is less than 0.2, I am still called ‘Borderline Hyperactive’. I understand that mercury levels can affect the pituitary gland’s ability to sense levels of thyroid hormones, and until recently I had eleven mercury amalgam fillings in my teeth. It will be interesting to see what changes. The endocrinologist also mentioned a link between the pituitary gland and connective tissue. I do know that I love receiving the Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, so there is more for me to learn and observe through the coming years.

    1. What a great combination of support Carmel – the medical skills of doctors and scientists and the complementary therapy available that physically supports the endocrine system.

  336. We are so good at overriding what our bodies are telling us, even when we have an ‘instant knowing’ that something is or isn’t right for us. How would our lives look if we didn’t ignore these feelings, but actually allowed them to direct us, rather than trying to rationalise with our minds whether or not they are good or bad decisions. As Serge Benhayon said “Our bodies are the markers of all truth”. Perhaps its time we paid more attention to the wisdom we already have within us, and that has always been there.

  337. A great question Dianne – how often do we think of our body? Pretty much only when it reminds us with pain or discomfort of some sort. How back to front have we got it! Like closing the gates after the horse has bolted.

  338. “Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result” – in becoming aware of our [choice of] energy, we become aware of our [choice of] expression, and its resulting quality. What huge responsibility awareness is then Diane when it comes to ‘expression’ and ‘expressing’ and the related illnesses that may arise.

    1. Zofia I am completely with you on this, expression is so much more than simply what we say or may speak with another. from our very movements to the thoughts we have everything is indeed expression. And as Diane has shared that affects our health is more ways that we often care to see.

      1. Exactly MA. There is so much energy passing through us at any moment and we are choosing it all. I can’t help but feel what an incredible responsibility we hold, not in the the sense of it being a burden, but that we each, through our body, hold the key to expressing the truth of who we are through all of our movements.

  339. We have a long way to go in terms of truly understanding the human body, and science has played a large part in that understanding. We should be thankful for how much we already know. However, if one may suggest that humanity has been lacking in one area it is in terms of appreciating and accepting just how important it is for us to learn to understand our own bodies. No one knows our own body like we know it, and if we learn to be sensitive enough to its signals, we will find that it is giving us much more information than we might like to think. To be truly sensitive is to sense. That sounds obvious I know, but the word itself has been bastardised to mean weak, easily manipulated by emotion etc, which is a definition that suits the modern adage that we need to toughen up to deal with life, when in fact the opposite is what truly serves us. We have rested our focus on the brain as being the sole source of intelligence, meanwhile ignoring the body as a whole and the role it has to play in our overall sense of being. The body is not just a machine. It is part of what enhouses us, providing the vehicle for what we call consciousness. We are not a mere reactive conglomeration of nerve endings, or a brain to which all else is subservient. And yet it is the mind to which we pay the greatest homage. There is a being-ness, a life force for want of a better word, that is conveniently ignored in our zest to understand the functioning of the human body and life in general. And that is to our detriment.

    1. I agree Adam there is such great strength in being sensitive and honouring of our bodies indeed and much weakness in being tough and trying to fit to a mold.

  340. ‘…the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction.’ This is so spot on. I have totally experienced this also with experimenting not going into sympathy, and it’s amazing what unfolds.

  341. True medicine and true science indeed. Honestly, my body has been so supportive of me, with great metabolism and all systems firing, have suffered so few days of even slightly ill health. Yet there is still such great wisdom in Dianne’s expression, inspiring me to go deeper with my expression for the ever expanding benefits to myself and others on so many levels.

  342. I would love science and medicine to be open to exploring the all of medicine, in open enquiry, and to what is true health and healing – and your inspiration Dianne is leading the way.

    1. I agree Annie – this is indeed a field worth exploring, and one day science will catch up with what health and healing is truly about.

  343. Incredibly inspiring to read your dedication to yourself Dianne. Amazing to read how you firstly assessed what the thyroid is about, secondly how you contributed to low thyroid activity by addressing where you weren’t very honest and thirdly the responsibility you took to change your diet (slightly). Wow and such results only within a month. You’re to be studied Dianne. A role model first class.

  344. Hello thyroid, hello liver how are you feeling today? How often do we stop and connect to all the intricate parts of our body that all have an important role of working together. Why is anatomy and physiology not taught as a subject at primary school so that we all have a better understanding for how our bodies work and have more respect for them in regards to what we put in them. I know that learning Anatomy and Physiology and Nutrition ten years ago was a major changing point in my life and I wondered how I had gotten to 25 without ever considering how it all worked within me. Knowing the body and what does and does not work for it is a powerful thing to do and a very loving thing to learn for oneself.

  345. What you have shown us here, Dianne, is true self responsibility and the results are amazing. We have to stop just hanging onto every word our doctors say and also start feeling our bodies and what they are telling us.

  346. It is great that our body keeps giving us ‘signals’ (illness and disease) that the way we are living is not working for it. It helps us to heal our issues which may not always be just changing our dietsm but our whole way of living including our reactions, way of communicating and expressions.

  347. What a refreshing read, the openness and honesty to look at the root causes of a dysfunction instead of just managing the symptom and ignoring the actual problem is science and medicine as we need it – we need to practise it personally and it would also enrich classic medicine with the common sense knowledge it once started off with anyway.

    1. I agree Alex this blog is a most refreshing read… getting to the root of the problem rather than just dealing with the symptoms is a sea change in the way we deal with our illnesses.

  348. It is amazing how the body will tell us what it can and cannot eat and reading this confirms that even more so. For years I would eat salad peppers because it was considered the healthy thing to do but every time I cut them up they give off this vapour which makes me feel nauseous, now I will occasionally eat them if they are cooked but never raw – to think my body knew all along and was doing its best to communicate this.

  349. Expression covers a wide field, from our movements to our thoughts before we even open our mouths. Sometimes when there’s an awkward silence, it is tempting to fill the gap with inane conversation or small talk, but it makes a difference when we stop to feel first what is going on and to speak from there.

  350. “…….rapid reversal of low thyroid function by simply looking at my expression and putting the awareness into practice, plus a little bit of tweaking of diet!”
This reads so simple but they are huge steps you took to open up more and go more into your true expression. Wow.

  351. You have brought me to another level of truth by your expression. Living in ‘denial’ is very harmful for us as and because what we do matters then it is harmful for all. Truth does not go away, we will all return to it one day and I can advance that process by MY livingness.

  352. Thank you Dianne, your sharing highlights the importance of connection to our bodies and the expression of who we are in full, even if it means others reacting to what is delivered. It is not about getting it right but the expression from our bodies in order to get to a unified truth.

    1. The perceived and possible ‘reaction of others’ has kept and continues to keep the majority of people in set ways of being and behaving. The crazy thing is that we may have had one single reaction from another that stung at the time and so ever since we have set our entire expression up, so as to avoid a second sting. When you think about it, it’s absolutely nuts that so much of who we present ourselves to be, is, in actual fact, is who we are not, simply because we are permanently presenting doctored portions of us, in order to orchestrate some kind of measured response.

    2. I think that’s an important point you make Francisco – that we can stifle our expression because we think we’re not getting it ‘right’ if people don’t react in the way we had envisaged.. I’m learning more to bring my focus back to the quality of how I’m expressing and the sense of connection that I have as I know that when that’s there then whatever I say will be true…

  353. This is a great confirmation of how our health is not about a quick fix for our physical body… that there is very much an energetic aspect to our health and healing choices.

  354. I really appreciate this blog; it’s a bit like opening Pandora’s Box. There are so many ways this scenario resonates – where I can take the willingness to understand, explore and trust myself deeper to clear the niggley things – before they become a confirmed unhealthy situation in my body. The more I discover through Universal Medicine presentations and the lived experience such as this blog, the more I am willing to understand held back expression is a step away from an unhealthy physical symptom.

  355. “A recent experience really expanded my understanding of how choices and energy impact the physical wellbeing and medical conditions of the body.” When reading this I wondered how many opportunities our body communicates to us to say we are out of balance? It’s great you could listen and appreciate there is choice of how the impact can be felt and approached. This is very inspiring and supportive Dianne.

  356. It is so great when the doctors allow us to try our own way of changing lifestyle to see if it works before taking medicines – if we all did this, it could save the health service huge amounts of money. I had a similar experience when my doctor wanted to put me on Cholesterol medication, Statins. I’m already on warfarin to thin my blood as a stroke preventive measure because of an irregular heartbeat, and I’m reluctant to take anything else. My Cholesterol level was 5.7 at the time and he said he preferred to keep it around 4. So the next time I saw him it was 4.7 and the next time 4.2 which he’s quite happy with. All I did was adjust my diet slightly.

  357. Your story really highlights what Serge Benhayon espouses about “the way we live being the best medicine”. There are many ‘miraculous’ stories about how people have started loving and caring for themselves and changed their lifestyle habits and reversed their compromised health conditions, too many to deny this imperative complementary medicine. The ‘lifestyle modality’ must be included in both preventive and curative medical approaches and this approach must include raising awareness around and shifting our non-serving behavioural patterns.

  358. I loved re-reading this, truly inspiring Dianne. All the wondrous curiosity you have of life and the universe brought to this situation that the medical world would have labelled as a done deal with no chance of reversal. The wonder that comes from the connection with the universe and ourselves and the commitment to make the necessary energetic shifts throws that resignation mentality out of the water.

  359. I am ever inspired by the miraculous changes that take place when we investigate and understand how we have been setting up the conditions that create the illness in the first place, alongside the needed practical measures.

  360. I totally agree with what you’ve shared in your article Dianne; true Medicine and Science can never be compartmentalised or divided, and for every condition, illness or disease there is a pattern of dis-ease to address that is equally important as diagnosing and treating it.

  361. Interesting. I feel in a way on a similar journey. I’ve got a slipped disc weeks ago and can’t move at all. After while I started to move again and was able to sit for a while. Just I could not stand long – what meant less than a few minutes. Doctor said I may need half a year to work on it with physio-training and so on. But I started to work again after 2 weeks – slowly and just a few hours per day. But what I did was question the ‘how I work’ and bring a change here. I did realize how much I did hold back in awareness because if I would be aware I would have to act and move according to and I did not take the responsibility here. I had supported unloving/destructive choices on workplace and so I was be stopped. Now I did bring in more interest on how the staff was going, taking responsibility about their care and to not be pushed. At the same time I did my physio-training. The healing did go on very slowly but it did. Than I started to bring more attention to my female body and what it asked for. I started and still do sacred movement every morning as well as some gentle and very tender exercises in core-muscle training. I started to really bring a change into my movements – also into the unconscious ones – and I work on opening up more, feel, accept, appreciate and show my fragility, tenderness and sweetness. I feel very vulnerable but also very much supported, because I feel more connected. As my body does heal more and more I really see how important it is to change the movements which did lead me at first hand to the illness. I really reconstruct my body and movements and this has an huge impact on my life and work.

  362. Dianne before a few years ago I didn’t even know I had a thyroid gland! It’s like we have all these parts in our body, all working as one in harmony and its only when we put immense pressure on them and something goes wrong do we ask about a part of us that is now no longer working behind the scences. However it didn’t have to be this way, we could have listened and taken care of ourselves from day 1.

  363. It makes sense that the throat is connected to expression, and time and time again my body has shown me this over the years with throat infections – not as common these days, and to a lesser degree if I do get one. About nine years ago I noticed that if I did not speak my whole truth and held back I would get an infection on one side of my throat, but if I nominated it quite often the soreness would go quickly without medication.

  364. Interesting how the body can be a super accurate judge of what it does or does not need, and I imagine that this is how many of the great ancient scientists connected with profound realisations without the assistance of modern tools to ‘prove’ the claim. We have become a little too obsessed with this proof in modern times, and forgotten our innate sensitivity to feel what is really going on in the world.

  365. “……as the Ageless Wisdom Teachings explain, ‘expression’ is much more than physical actions like speaking and singing. Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result.” It is great to have an awareness of this Dianne, as it makes it very clear that everything we do (our expression) is affected by how we are in ourselves, as a result of the choices we have made up to the point of when we express. And it highlights the responsiblity we have in every moment to be all that we are.

  366. Food and lifestyle, we have a multitude of choices everyday. The question is do we listen to our body or not ?

  367. I used to get really cold feet, but now they are much warmer, and in this I know there is much more to read as to why, much more about the function of the body than just an accepting of how we are. We often think we are just one way or another as that it how it is. But how often is there more of an influence from our choices and behaviours than what we acknowledge.

  368. How often do I think of my body when it is working? – ie doing what I tell it to because i need it to function in a way that allows me to continue to do what I do and carry on being irresponsible. It has been painful to feel how delicate and precious it is because I can feel then the extent of the abuse I’ve subjected it to. But beyond that, there is a gorgeousness to be enjoyed and then the abuse becomes history.

  369. That is astounding Dianne, I see many people with thyroid dysfunction and am aware it is possible to reverse and restore proper function with the sort of changes you’ve shared, but l’ve not seen it happen quite so distinctly and quickly as that. Thanks, I will use your blog to refer some clients in future… very supportive and inspiring thank you.

  370. Everything’s working together. Every body part is a working part of the whole. If we don’t treat and nourish our body in regards to his requests, no wonder we end up not feeling well. There are no rules in how to be with our body, except one: be loving. In every way we can. There’s not enough I can do for my body. And I allready do so much more than ever. Yet, there’s also plenty of space to appreciate my body on a deeper level. Let’s start all together conversations about our well-being, just like is shared here in this blog. Together we’ve got so much wisdom, gained through our lived experiences that if we would share these, caring and supporting our body would become very natural (again).

  371. What an amazing exposure of the absolute truth we know through looking at the energy we live in. It is showing up in our body, and affects us deeply when we don’t truly listen.

  372. ‘I discovered that a ‘biggie’ blocking my expression is an old pattern: speak truth – get slammed; see truth and expose that which is uncomfortable for someone else – get attacked; stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy – get rejected, belittled, punished.’ This pattern certainly is a ‘biggie’ in every sense of the word – big because it can cripple a huge part of one’s life, and a ‘biggie’ because just about everyone has bought into either repressing others’ expression or being repressed by those others (a condition just as toxic). The world is largely run on the fuel of this dynamic. Thank heavens for the teachings of the Ancient Wisdom presented by so many great teachers, and most of all the current teacher for this age, Serge Benhayon. We are being given an opportunity to regain our confidence, reclaim our bodies, feel the truth, speak up from there, and understand without judgment anyone trying to suppress or reject us. We cannot be rejected, we are just who we are. World thyroid stats could change hugely.

  373. How beautiful is our body, that each part is telling us something unique. It’s never that we are wrong or bad but simply showing us the truth. As you show so elegantly Dianne this process is like returning to a foreign land and re-learning a language that used to be our native tongue. Suddenly you start to understand conversations and messages when before you dismissed it out of hand. Bravo body for consistently communicating and thanks to all, like me, who choose to finally listen to its wisdom.

  374. Great sharing Dianne, we truly have to be honest in what we eat and the impact it has on our body. My body has so much energy when I don’t eat gluten, I don’t feel tired. If by chance I eat something with gluten, within minutes I could feel the tiredness and heaviness in my body,

  375. I agree Jane, it shows there is so very much more for us to look at when it comes to health, including expression!

  376. “………that our bodies really do know what’s right and not right for them, there is more to this thyroid story than the scientifically known chemistry and physiology.”
The listening to your body is a great example that our bodies do know. Thank you Dianne.

  377. When I reflect on physical issues in the throat area being connected with expression, it makes sense because, as a young child, I was often suffering with Laryngitis, a throat infection that meant I lost my voice. I only get it occasionally now, and it is often linked to something I am not expressing. Certainly the overactive thyroid condition which I developed at age 52 gradually disappeared as I developed my true expression more.

    1. Reading your comment Carmel has made me recall as a child I had chronic tonsillitis. The result was they were removed – but this didn’t resolve the fact that expression wasn’t encouraged.

  378. I agree Jane – if we all took this level of responsibility for our health, the stress on our Health System would rapidly reduce and the re-connection to ourselves and connection in brotherhood to others would expand. So simple yet attracts so much resistance.

  379. Our bodies are powered by energy. It certainly serves for us to look at this aspect, along with the physical ailment, in healing. With this approach, it would revolutionise medicine as we currently know it.

  380. It’s amazing that our body is so intrinsically connected with every choice we make. And we are making choices faster than we realise sometimes, so it is good to have a body which shows markers for us to learn from. An example would be, if I start to race ahead and worry about time, or that something may be happening, I have noticed my heart starts beating faster, and my vision begins to fade.

  381. It is amazing when we get ourselves into trouble and we then are able to find a healing from that trouble. It can be even more amazing if we manage not to get into trouble in the first place but to live an expansion and increase in our livingness.

  382. I have read this several times Dianne and each time I see more in this article. I was diagnosed with an over-active thyroid, although several similar symptoms as you mentioned with an under-active one. My body showed me clearly that it did not like the prescribed medicines, so it came down to making choices to live differently, learning to express more being one thing to do more of in my life. A work in progress as my body and I learn to work together in harmony.

  383. I Love your blogs Dianne and their simplicity and inquiring nature to open up to more and take a responsibility for our health and well being. You bring alive our very livingness and observances from our bodies not to be dismissed and the power we all have in the simplicity of feeing and all this offers us.

  384. Considering expression and energy together is not something we normally do, but when we start to truly explore what is going on in our communications, much can be revealed. We have all experienced childhood hurts, and when we hold on to them, the subsequent emotions and lack of trust affect all our communications now. When people react to that we stop trusting ourselves to be saying the ‘right thing’ and subsequently hold back from further communication instead of dealing with the underlying issue and clearing out whatever has been festering for so long.

  385. It is interesting that once we can recognise that our bodies are being run by programmes and what those programmes are it becomes easier to look at things to a deeper level. I could recognise the fear of speaking up in case I am attacked, and it is the programme of fear that holds me back. Once this is related back to the body and as in your case Dianne the Thyroid it becomes easier to express the truth knowing that if you don’t then your thyroid issue is not going to heal and no doubt probably get worse.

  386. The wisdom of the body never stops to astound me yet so often I ignore it in preference to some self-indulgence for short-term pleasure, relief or comfort. How ludicrous is that?

  387. It is wonderful to see documented the powerful and empowering part we can play in our own healing, and how we can work together with the great skills of Western Medicine to achieve this.

  388. “Challenge, yes. Impossible, no’ – I love this. I can see how I have often settled for being a ‘case’ and not made much use of all the tools and knowledge I have been imparted, and how you have made a commitment to change your pattern is so very inspiring. Thank you, Dianne.

  389. Wow Dianne, this really is true medicine. I love how simply and practically you looked at every part inside and out of what could be affecting your thyroid and then tuned in to feel what was needed to heal. We so know what our bodies need and don’t need and yet we can get caught up at times in thinking we are wrong or not disciplined enough to eat something we perceive as ‘healthy’. I can’t eat the foods you mentioned, my body gets incredibly uncomfortable and painful, yet I only stopped eating them a few years ago. Even our expression with ourselves is important to check.

  390. With so many different chemical reactions going on in our bodies all the time, it is an absolute miracle that they continue to function as well as they do when we mistreat them. But what you are showing us here Dianne, is that we are in the driving seat when it comes to our own health, and by making some simple changes to our body’s needs, we have the potential to change the course of an illness or disease, or at least to slow down its progression.

  391. You ask: “How often do we think about our thyroid glands? Probably only when something goes wrong.” – it is like that with most parts of our body. I don’t go around thinking of my big toe but if I had an ingrowing toe nail or hurt it I would certainly notice just what a huge role it plays in my life. Same for my nose, ears, ankles and every other part of my body. We are not really parts but one beautifully interconnected responsive whole that is also interconnected with other seemingly separate bodies!

  392. I love your experiments and how you share your discoveries Dianne. Great to ask ourselves in what way have I not been fully expressing if I have an under active thyroid problem. ‘Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result. So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?’

  393. It is really helpful to read blogs like this one because many of us have similar symptoms and it wakes us up to taking more care of our own bodies or, when symptoms are more severe, to go and see our GP for a diagnosis.

  394. You clearly show that the intimate relationship we have with our body is the key to our wellbeing Dianne. It’s only by choosing to not numb out, dull or ignore what our bodies are telling us, will we have the awareness to address disharmony and the start of illness before it becomes illness or disease that could potentially affect us for the rest of our life.

  395. What is really significant to me is that you asked yourself and consulted your thyroid directly. You activated your expression the moment you became aware that it could be very supportive to do this – this is huge. The title of your blog sums it up so simply “Hello Thyroid”. It would seem by your scientific proof that there is an extensive amount of prevention to illness and well-being available, simply by knowing we have a relationship with every part of our bodies and tuning in. The only other part is to listen to the reply and respond responsibly.

  396. I love the title of this blog as it reminds me of actually saying “Hello Body”… because with our high usage of internet on our mobile phones and screens, it has become very easy to forget, override, or dismiss the body and all its messages. We tend to be a society that prefers to read messages off a digital screen than to check-in and read the messages of our body.

  397. I have to say, that your true scientific approach is so heart-warmingly inspiring Dianne. We are our own living experiments – constantly! What if we lived each day in the wonder of this, and the depth of learning possible?

    1. This would be an entirely different way to the tendency to self critique. If every moment is a new moment to learn, as with any other scientific experiment, then it highlights the pointlessness of being hard with ourselves. Did our choices support us or not? Simple.

  398. Amazing Dianne, and I would say, the approach of a true physician – one who considers the whole…
Whether someone experiences such a physical turnaround or not, to consider the whole, particularly in this case including how our expression relates to a condition of the thyroid, makes absolute sense. Your example demonstrates just how powerful a part we can play in our own healing, should we be willing to look at how we are living, our behaviours, habitual reactions/responses and all, and recognise that all is indeed ‘energy’ – that how we’ve been can impact so greatly upon our bodies and well-being.

  399. I find it intriguing that foods you didn’t like as a child turned out to the the very foods that are not good for your condition. We have an innate sense of what is or is not good for us, and we need to encourage our children to develop that. Then they will naturally choose nourishing foods for themselves and not be affected by peer pressure or clever marketing from major corporations.

    1. Carmel, yes our bodies do have an incredible ability to know exactly what they need to eat, in what quantities and when, it’s just that we have interfered with our body’s ability to communicate that information clearly by introducing so many foods and drinks and ways of being that scramble its messaging system.

  400. Love the intricacy and detail shared in this blog and how it also had beautiful simple messages coming through, one of which for me was that you do not have to be a physician or scientist to heal yourself. Or perhaps better said and what Dianne is such a leader with, is that we can all open up to the greater science of exploring in a very caring and purposeful way what works for our own bodies. Taking this to the depth of how we express, or hold back our expression, was very powerful for me when linked back to the actual physiological testing of our bodies function.

  401. “For those who don’t have a thyroid condition and whose bodies don’t react to them, don’t worry, as cooking partially destroys the chemical that affects the thyroid and so can be safely consumed. Also the amount of the chemical contained in the dose of vegetables we eat is unlikely to cause a problem, but as in my case, if the tendency is already there then it makes sense to reduce or avoid them.”.

To me this is telling how there are no rules in what to eat and what not to eat. Our bodies are very willing to teach, share with us what they need at any given moment. Are we willing to listen?

  402. Dianne, I love how your blogs show how we could have a relationship with life where we choose to be open, inquisitive, observe, reflect and be blessed with insights, deepening understanding and wisdom.

  403. This was brilliant to read again Dianne. You show by your example how simple it can be to change our health, even when the doctor has written off a diagnosis as permanent. There is so much more to health and wellbeing than we currently understand.

    1. That is true. When we find the cause of our illness we are then often in a position to do something about it. It is much harder when we have no idea why we are ill or sick.

  404. Dianne’s story is becoming more common, that is; so many of us have been inspired by Esoteric Medicine as brought forth by Serge Benhayon have been reversing our imbalances despite them being ‘known by modern medicine as irreversible’ simply by realizing how common sense it can be to care for and heal our bodies once we consider that everything we do comes with energy and carries with it an out play of that energy and make simple (& often challenging) changes accordingly.

When I have been in avoidance of seeing my part in my discomforts, issues, illnesses I created complication looking for an answer, relief or cure (from science or the spiritual new age) that dose not implicate ME in it.

… Science is amazing and we need it but what a shame to use it as a way to avoid our own responsibilities and then lean so heavily on it alone to bring us out of all the harm we have brought and continue to bring unto ourselves by not honoring our own wisdom and the very wise bodies we live in.

  405. When we become re acquainted with the delicacy and sensitivity of our body, we sometimes hit a moment of “OMG I am so silly, look what I have been avoiding” and so it goes. We run ahead of our body but it always catches up, sometimes with some presents we didn’t expect.

  406. This is astonishing Dianne. I have read many of your blogs, all delivering the fact that our bodies are wise beyond words and we do know how to listen and take care of ourselves.

  407. I keep re-reading this Dianne because it is very relevant to me. My mother had a very enlarged thyroid and it gave her huge health problems in her life. It shows me the importance of the full understanding of medicine that you bring here, the energetic understanding to complement the physical one, with the knowing of the importance of full expression for our true health. This is great for me to work on, thank you.

  408. “… the energy of choices” is a whole new Science waiting to be explored. One way or another, the quality of our thoughts, emotions and every day actions has an impact on our bodies. This is not just about thinking positive, it a way of living with self, with our bodies and with one another in complete harmony, respect and integrity that enables us to feel vital and healthy 24/7.

  409. A beautiful example of how we are has a direct impact on our body. When there is an illness, to look beyond the physical manifestation of what is presented to a depth of what caused the illness in the first place. Then we have the opportunity to truly heal.

  410. The lesson in this is there for us all, it doesn’t have to be a thyroid issue; every ailment, symptom, feeling we have shows us something occurring in the body. We can be our very own Detective Columbo (minus the cigar) and assess what we feel is occurring. How are we living, behaving, being that is influencing our health and wellbeing.

  411. This is a great starting point to setting up expressing oneself Dianne . . . choosing to connect, and holding yourself in the fullness of love and understanding, staying open without sympathising, and letting go of the fear, hurts, and programs . . . it makes complete sense that another is less likely to react if we are not in reaction and even if they do . . . no big deal for if you are not in reaction yourself you can easily choose to strengthen the support you have already put in place by deepening your connection, love and understanding and checking your hurts don’t get a look in. Understanding allows us to accept where another is coming from without the judgement, this in turn allows an opportunity for another to feel their own choices.

  412. What you have shared is pretty “gobsmacking” Dianne, and something so simple, an awareness and responsibility for our bodies and our choices are key here. We can be our own science experiment and it can be an interesting and very empowering exploration. Thanks for sharing.

  413. “What we’re talking about here is energy: not the calories, kilojoules, metabolism type of energy, but the energy of choices, and how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression. I learned this from Serge Benhayon, and found from my own experience that it is true.” Serge Benhayon has offered us an invitation to explore life from a energetic perspective, the energy of choices is an eye opening study.

  414. I know I have had the same pattern of ‘speak truth and get slammed’ Dianne. I have gone through different phases of not expressing at all at school years ago to express very vociferously wanting to change people’s ideas decades later. I can feel now how neither ways of expressing were true because the first way closing in on myself, and the second was forcing my opinions on everyone. Expressing from our feeling of truth inside us is the way forwards without needing to change an outcome, and also brings the bonus of a healthy thyroid gland.

  415. We choose what energy we allow to enter our bodies and that energy guides all our thoughts, our actions, and the tone of voice and words when we speak to another. Nothing is from us, we are empty vessels. This is a concept hard for many to accept, but when accepted as fact, makes a dramatic change in our relationships. It takes away all judgment because we simply observe other people’s choices and leave them alone. We need to be aware of what choices we have made ourselves, and when there’s an argument between two people, it helps to clock the energy that’s in control.

  416. Every organ in our body deserves this much attention and focus – feeling exactly what choices are affecting us and where. How amazing to feel the body so responsive to daily deeds and choices, constantly keeping us on track when we listen and respond to what’s called for. It’s a constant learning, but one that brings with it greater health, vitality and joy.

  417. Our bodies have been with us for every single breath that we have either taken or held. Our bodies are the ones that have had to wear every single decision that we have ever made. Our bodies reflect the life that we have led because how could they not?

  418. It’s amazing how some very simple changes to your diet and being aware of how much you were holding back your true feelings and changing this could make such a difference to your physical health Dianne. Thankyou for sharing your experience – there is much we can learn from this.

  419. I love the way that your body knew that it didn’t want to eat certain foods way before you discovered your diagnosis. Our bodies are way ahead of us a lot of the time. We need to give them more credit and listen way more than we do.

  420. Dianne, I’ve recently learned the power and freedom that comes from expressing truth instead of holding back. I’ve also found that in the main, people handle truth when expressed clearly and it flows from a deeply connected and loving body.

  421. This time reading this article I was impressed already by the first sentences. How often do we pay attention to our bodies when there is no problem, illness, pain? Of course there are those who do some exercises and see how that goes, but I mean: WHEN do we pay attention to our body reflections? When do we assume our body is alright? What is our standard? Where do we put the bar? If something is hurting that’s quite clear, but even then, there are levels of hurts we can integrate into our functional being before they become ‘a problem’, which means they are preventing us from functioning. But what if we would see our body as an amazing reflection for us where we are right now and see every reflection as a offer/call for learning? To take our body reflections seriously also before it hurts would be very supportive I assume. Health provision could also be to listen to our bodies and to all the reflections we get more carefully.

  422. To accept this miracle, which I do (having observed many other ‘turn arounds’) we have to accept that our well-being and health is in our hands – this responsibility is a blessing, but I have shied away from it for years.

  423. Dianne, I love how you write – it is always a refreshing take on things! Even the title is wonderful “Hello Thyroid” – this shows we can work very closely with our body, with all of its parts, and it is about really listening to what is being communicated constantly, day by day.

  424. ‘speak truth – get slammed’ sometimes we think we are expressing truth but it comes laced with something else, perhaps an old emotion that has been festering under the surface, so in some cases it’s no wonder we get a reaction, but in other cases, especially if we have expressed in our fullness, from a total connection deep within ourselves, what we are expressing is a simple truth. The trick for us is to not be attached to any outcome. What we feel may need to be expressed, but we cannot control what choices anyone else makes as a result of what they hear. Holding back serves no-one and makes us ill.

  425. “What we’re talking about here is energy: not the calories, kilojoules, metabolism type of energy, but the energy of choices ” Dianne you have expressed very clearly that it’s energy first that effects the body, continue the energy and the body will manifest in response to that belief. Clear the belief and the body will respond as you have clearly demonstrated, even defying the odds of not possible.

  426. The fact that our body exactly knows what to eat and what not to eat is Wisdom in itself and should be respected anytime. Not one body is the same as another, yet they all have the profound, unique capacity to tell the beholder what it needs and what it doesn’t need. I used to dismiss what my body communicated, where as in the last 15 years I’ve slowly turned this around and at the age of nearly 40, I’ve never felt so good as nowadays. Listening to what my body requires is an super important factor.

  427. True, science and medicine lived, an awesome account of a relatable experience. I myself can relate to many of the symptoms that you listed. Interesting to ponder the energetic choices within our body’s expression of illness.

  428. Your true medicine, science and practical wisdom are very appreciated. It’s being honest enough to accept that no matter what it is that makes me want to shrink away I actually can’t. My body faces the truth every moment, it is only my thoughts that can choose denial, which happens at the expense of everyone’s well-being, opportunity to heal and evolve.

  429. Dianne what you have shown here is that taking responsibility for your own ill health leads to true healing.

  430. If expression can be such a great medicine – and surely you are not the first person on earth, who experiences this, Dianne – why doctors and all of us aren’t trained like this by now? What ways of suppression of true wisdom is at play amongst humanity?

  431. To read one’s own body signs and to take action accordingly is such a great way of maintaining health. To read works the moment I allow myself to see the bigger picture. And the bigger picture is always inclusive – this includes western medicine.

  432. A true scientist through and through Dianne, showing us that we can all be our own scientific experiment, all we have to do is tune into our body and pay attention to what it is telling us, in no uncertain terms.

  433. This is so great Dianne. The amount of tests and attempted cures and solutions usually involved in response to such conditions are actually blown out of the water when you consider that what you did was to simply increase your expression. It’s so cool and great that you have taken the time to share your story.

  434. It’s beautiful to read how you chose to start expressing yourself Dianne, and how that choice actually changed the physical symptoms you were experiencing. This is such a great example of how we have the power within us to change the direction of our own health, if we are willing to take responsibility for our day to day choices.

    1. The will to take responsibility is huge, but not so scary as perhaps it can appear to be. Actually it is very simple. The key is to learn from our mistakes, and to take each day as it comes, never compromising on love.

  435. It seems there is forever deepening with our understanding to the subject of health, I used to think that a little bit of anything was healthy but that seems ridiculous to me now, why would we want to poison our bodies with drugs or alcohol? We get the body we have lived and as we do this for a while, the body gives us the corrections with illnesses. Listening to our bodies and understanding the message is crucial to our return to health and you are living proof it does work Dianne. That’s pretty cool.

  436. I love the simplicity of how you transformed your thyroid condition; we can easily make things complicated by looking at this issue or that issue, trying to ‘battle’ what’s happening to our bodies when we get sick or something doesn’t go quite right in our body, or we can look straight at how we live and make the adjustments we feel are needed.

  437. Yes, Dianne, the medical profession would resort much less to pharmacology if there was an openness like you describe here to taking responsibility and getting to the cause of our physical symptoms.

  438. This blog shows how easy it is for ourselves and doctor to work with our body in partnership. As long as we have a connection with our body we will then have this with our doctor, and feel what needs addressing more deeply. Amazing thank you Dianne.

  439. Dianne, I really like the point that you made here about how when we react to another, that not only are we harming ourselves but the other person as well, because our reaction offers no point of evolution for the other, that is, when we react we cannot offer another a chance to know that there is another way.

  440. An Inspiring article Dianne and so relatable to and supportive for everyone. Thyroid conditions are so prevalent and being seen as a normal part of our health almost these days, showing something is definitely wrong with the way we are living. Your sharing is an amazing reflection of how we can support our own health and conditions by our choices and how we live. Linking expression with the thyroid is true medicine and working on your expression and tweaking and honouring your diet shows how we have the power to change our health by listening to our body and this is the responsibility we all hold within us.

  441. Universal Medicine always supports us to look at our part first – the “why and how am I behaving” that is causing this issue, while Western Medicine enables us to check the gross and fine details of how our body is performing on the physiological level. Awesome that by tuning into your expression and choosing to make fundamental changes in this arena first, as well as checking your diet can improve your thyroid function, a job usually assigned to hormone replacement therapy. There is so much more for us to appreciate and understand about why we get sick and how we can fundamentally support our health by altering the quality of our behaviour and choices.

  442. Your thyroid story just goes to show that everything is energy first before it is matter and long before we can measure and gauge it with the instrumentation at our disposal today.

  443. I really know the feeling of suppressing my expression through fear of being attacked ridiculed or laughed at and I do know that expression is everything and it is harming to all when we don’t, so thanks Dianne for this reminder to just get on with life and not hold back.

  444. Dianne I was talking with someone yesterday about medical conditions and what the doctor prescribes, it’s very clear that for the majority of society we’ve gotten into the situation of needing/wanting a quick fix, pill, something that can do everything without us needing to change our lives. If we as patients start really asking for and making lifestyle changes, then the amount of medication as well as rates of illness and disease would plummet. Do we want to make that change though?

  445. Remarkable how your thyroid function rebounded after attending and supporting yourself…this is quite spectacular Dianne… and in my opinion quite a ground breaking scientific study.

  446. “Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result. So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?” This is a brilliant question Dianne, and one that reveals so much about how we can have a physical impact on our bodies by not expressing what we truly feel.

  447. How precious and responsive is our body! Why don’t we (learn to) cherish our body from the day that we are born. It is our body that actually holds the key and the treasures to life. The body simply knows that it belongs to the greater whole and the rhythms this includes. It is us that arrogantly make choices that are not in lign with the rhythms of the cosmos. It can’t be too much of a surprise that we end up with so many people being diagnosed with illness and disease. It is us – through returning to listen to our bodies – who can make the changes needed. With a lot of treasures awaiting. Guaranteed.

  448. I love that our body knows far more than we can comprehend, or even be consciously aware of. How great then is our intelligence when connected to the wisdom of our body.

  449. An amazing testament to the fact that we are energy from soul to skin, and our bodies do respond to the choices we make! It is just up to us to make the choices for the body we want to live in.

  450. Beautiful proof, Dianne, that if we listen to our bodies and adhere to the messages, we can re-establish harmony in the body.

  451. Our bodies are so sensitive to everything we do within them. The qualities of our thoughts have just as big an impact as the quality of our diets or the exercise we do. Esoteric Medicine respects this sensitivity immensely and empowers us to really feel and appreciate our delicate metabolism. Western Medicine provides us with incredible insights and the amazing potential to support our bodies when we have taken them over the edge. How amazing to first address the imbalance in the way you express your self, to pull the body back from the edge so to speak by altering your behaviour first, in the knowing that should you require it, the medical backup is there to support if required.

  452. I love to re-read your blogs Dianne, you bring the understanding of science in a very logical and true way. The knowledge you feel from the body makes complete sense to me, and your understanding to make the changes that then show the different results are very inspiring. We can all do this with whatever illness we find happening to us.

  453. Wow this is huge Dianne, what we can do when we commit to tackling our behaviours and ill-momentums that are leading us down the road to chronic illness and disease. .. and how powerful it can be on so many levels when instead we choose a way that is true to our natural being. Awesome inspiration.

  454. Dianne your sharing this experience is a very loving thing to do! There are so many who have Thyroid issues that could and will benefit from your personal research!

  455. It is so true that we don’t express for fear of anothers reaction, when in truth we can offer so much loving support to others when we do express what is there to be expressed… it can completely change a relationship and the way we communicate in a very positive way – we just need to get ourselves out of the way and trust whatever is there to be expressed.

  456. Your experience very much confirms how important expression is on all levels Dianne – it is not about the quick fix pill but a way of living that is true and honouring of ourselves and our bodies… and of everyone else too.

  457. Your blog so clearly highlights that true medicine considers all aspects of the human being, the physical, psychological and the energetic.

  458. I love how you’ve combined the support from your doctor with support from you; if we follow our prescriptions and instructions from the GP and don’t change our lifestyle we could end up with the same problem (or an escalated one) down the line, but by combining the two you can address the whole reason WHY it happened and then what needs to be done hereon.

  459. It’s quite amazing how much influence we have on our health if we commit to what it requires. How different would it be if we would genuinely take care of ourselves. All together. That we’re sharing with each other, how we care for ourselves. And allowing ourselves to be inspired from one another. Could it be that together we are able to change the current trend of giving up, individuality and non expressing (dishonesty and comfort)? We are incredibly powerful. What if we would use our love and light for the growth of all? Wouldn’t we be much better off? Illness and disease are communicating / reflecting on a very personal level how we are relating to ourselves. But it doesn’t leave us alone or tell us ‘this is the end’. It communicates also the internal medicine that we need. Just as is expressed in this beautiful blog. How gracious is this?

  460. Reading this gives me a great appreciation that I subject my body to energy to fight it and my natural expression – I put it under great forces and distress. How I am in every way affects it. Because I’ve done this for so long, I can feel very real deterioration in my health and am inspired to get properly checked out by a doctor to know how I can support myself further physically and know in definite terms the damage of fighting who I truly am. Getting support to support me physically and with my choices of staying with my body and letting go of the anxiety of simply being are equally important.

  461. This is a great example of the power we have when we connect to our bodies, feel what needs to change and then make the necessary loving choices to support ourselves to a place of harmony.

  462. Thanks Dianne for the simplicity of what science and medicine is. We like to make it so complicated and something only scientists are able to deal with, but what you present to us in this and previous blogs is that we are all scientists of life. If we were to accept that we would have a much healthier society.

    1. I like that, Judith – “we are all scientists of life”. We intrinsically know what is going on within us when we live in connection to our bodies.

  463. I love the way you describe your genuine enquiring, observing, allowing and honouring relationship with your body. Most of some seem to only listen to our body when it is yelling loudly or because we have the inconvenience of it not working in some way. Yet what a gorgeous relationship with the body is shown here and how wonderful that it is available to all of us if we choose it.

  464. ‘Off I went back to my doctor for the follow-up thyroid function test results. She was gobsmacked because the result was normal! She said that ‘never happens!’’ Total proof that how we live and the choices we make are the best medicine!

  465. True health is an equal expression of the physical, physiological and psychological in harmony with one another. If any one aspect is out of kilter, then we experience dis-ease. Restoring health then is a case of addressing each component and as you have shown Dianne, when you observe and nurture all three, they can be supported to return to their true vitality and integral harmony.

  466. Working with our bodies and looking at how we are living if diagnosed with an ill health condition, and actually even if we are not, is very empowering. Giving ourselves some space to ask the questions you did, Dianne gives our body a chance to respond and feel cared for. I know if I have this relationship with my body it becomes even more responsive, so as you say “that is true medicine, and true science!” Thank you.

  467. ’How often do we think about our thyroid glands? Probably only when something goes wrong.’ – Yes indeed, how often do we think about most of our body parts apart from when we are faced with a medical diagnosis etc. The ground breaking teachings by Serge Benhayon offers a whole new understanding of the body and how symptoms in the different body parts are related to how we live our lives and how we treat ouselves on a daily basis.

  468. After reading your blog I realised that I was not putting time aside for looking after myself, I was putting off booking a doctor’s appointment, as I was prioritising everything else over me. Last week I organised 3 different medical appointments for myself, one of which is for a full medical in which my thyroid can be checked. It feels great to be taking the steps to look after myself and a very basic element of self care which I had been avoiding because of the lack of worth I still hold for myself. As I start with this it is opening my eyes to the many other areas that I don’t value myself to start chipping away at those too.

  469. Dianne, this is a great question, “In what ways have I been allowing my expression to be suppressed?” Saying what I am truly feeling has been challenging for me, I often hold back expressing my truth and so it’s great to ask this question as I can feel that holding back is harmful for my body and does not allow others the truth and wisdom that I can offer. I love how you worked on your expression and how quickly you changed your old patterns – this is super inspiring.

  470. Some people with thyroid (or any other) conditions have accepted that this is the way it is, wear it as a badge of honour, and become identified with it. This article shows powerfully that every illness offers potential for healing. Once we commit to go beyond simply taking medication but also exploring the roots of the illness with honesty, we’re on our way.. It’s one thing to expose a way of being that no longer supports us, another to do something about it.

    1. It is interesting you should say that Kehinde2012, as from time to time we come across people who almost act like they enjoy their ill health condition, and if you suggest that there are some people out there who have cured or vastly improved their illness there comes up a brick wall, and a refusal to go there. Like you say ‘a badge of honour’ and one of the many ways of being identified.

  471. Dianne, your results of a normal thyroid reading after you made some changes are definitive evidence for a quantitative research case study which when more people with low thyroid readings follow your example and do their similar experiments on themselves, can grow more evidence for the scientific community. It is really great to have the GP on board saying this never happens, confirming the changes, which may appear small, really have huge consequences.

  472. You have done it Dianne, by allowing yourself to express in full you have improved the thyroid condition and with that you show that we are more than flesh and blood and that it is not only the nutrients in our food that is affecting the wellbeing of our bodies, but as well there is another aspect that is affecting us and that is our energetic state of being.

  473. Amazing story Dianne, it’s incredible that your new choices resulted in the ‘normal’ test result.. but then again, your already understanding of ‘choices’ playing a central part towards your thyroid condition in the first place made that quite easy to switch around and of no surprise, even though it is at the same time, quite frankly a confirming miracle!! Inspiring.

  474. “Hello thyroid my old friend, i’ve come to talk to you again………..”, if only we entered into an active dialogue with our bodies then we wouldn’t be in the mess we are in. We would know exactly what was going on in all areas of our life, as our bodies are constantly letting us know how we’re going. Our bodies are offering us silent and at times not so silent commentary on every-thing that we are involved in.

  475. Diane, this is awesome to hear of your experience, but more so to hear about your willingness to take responsibility and to give things a go! You were willing to take a pro-active stance, research things for yourself and then try a few things out. Wonderful! As a health care practitioner, I can sadly say that this is not the norm for most people these days – generally what happens is the person seeks a quick fix or a pill so that nothing more in their life needs to change. What you have brought is a breath of fresh air to the health professionals as well as an inspiration for others to follow suit and work with their body and how it is calling out for change!

  476. We’ve so accepted to be active in one moment and ‘crush’ another moment. Could it be that this actually contributing to a dysfunctioning body in the long run? Could it be that these ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ are actually both coming from emotions? And that we are to identify the difference between living from emotions or living from the connection with ourselves? I love how Dianne chose to be so honest and shares her experiences and choices with us. Thank you – again.

  477. Our choices are governed by the Universal Laws of Cause and effect – the old adage of ‘as we sow, so we reap’ describes this well. There are two energies we can choose between, Fire and Prana – that which is Love and that which is not. Our loveless choices keep us stuck in emotions and reactions.
“the energy of choices, and how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression”.

  478. I had the same experience but with period pain – I presented the doctors with the excruciating pain I was experiencing with my periods, and they suggested heavy medication. I decided to go away and work on myself, the way I live and see what happened, and since them my periods have become almost completely painless.

  479. ” True Medicine and True Science” working together for a result that has broken the normal perception and outcomes. This is the way forward and will go a long way in supporting our struggling hospital system, our bodies and our well being. As you have described Dianne this all had to begin with an honest reflection as to the way of living that resulted in a Thyiod condition. As a scientist yourself Dianne I would love your article to be published the have people consider the cause and effect of our choices.

  480. It’s interesting how we can register a hurt reaction, and then use that as a marker for the future. for example we have a car crash and then for the rest of our lives we end up driving as if we don’t want to crash rather than driving in full. This is very much the same – we can live from our hurts or not wanting to be hurt, but this does not get to the honesty of what is possible in our bodies, and how we can live a much higher level of love and truth.

  481. How inspiring for a GP to have a patient who takes responsibility for their health and who is willing to look how they can make changes to their lifestyle before considering medication as the only option.

  482. How often do we assume that medication will solve our health issues whereas with this understanding medication is more likely to support us to make different lifestyle choices until it is not needed anymore. Could this be the solution to our bankrupt health systems?

  483. I’m realising the truth of choosing to not express is far more harmful than we realise… not only are we harming ourselves but we do indeed harm others by not expressing what is there to be fully expressed. We miss out on the honesty which can be so liberating; the other person misses out on truth, and we all miss out on the healing of coming to a deeper level of truth and understanding… and a deeper, more loving and trusting connection in relationship.

  484. How amazing can the results be when we take full responsibility for our health and for our choices, and are willing to be honest about how we are living: truth and responsibility are life changers!

  485. You are the kind of Scientist you want to be when you are a kid, fun, wide eyed and open to anything. Your article is nothing short of a miracle but I also get this feeling that this is an everyday experience for you. Not curing thyroid conditions in a month but playing and looking at life with a knowing that all our choices make up the end result that we see and any given time. Playing with the wonders of nature and the magic of energy is genuinely fun to you, very touching.

  486. Dianne I love reading your articles – you are a divine investigator of all workings of the body and soul. What a revelation about expressions and how we are consciously in command of how we use our body, expression, in fact every single part of us all of the time. The choices are ours.

  487. I know so many people with thyroid conditions that I will share this far and wide as it is such a great testament to the fact we are actually for a lot of the time in the driving seat of health conditions – even severe ones like thyroid conditions but we prefer to live a life of dismissing how powerful our choices can be. Of course this will not work with everyone and it is your willingness to explore and change truly that gives rise to such amazing shifts. I understand how some feel this is like blaming them for their illness but rather than going into blame and without expectation that the disease will be healed, to live expressing everything is pretty amazing and a more empowered way to live so its a win.

  488. There is so much in this Dianne, responsibility, awareness, action, choices, connection, making changes. All of these things have made a really positive change in how you are living and your physical being, the proof as they say is in the pudding, ie. you are seeing the results of your loving choices.

  489. I have been really sitting with this story Dianne…it deserves it…it’s the perfect and most acute living example of what Serge Benhayon has been telling the world for sixteen years “everything matters”. I am still not grasping the depth of what this is actually telling me.

  490. This kind of knowledge and awareness ramps up our responsibility. Big time. Perhaps one day we will stop blaming the politicians for health budget deficits?

  491. Many of us experience a fear of expressing, whether it is due to past life torture or current life verbal reactions, but it is inspiring that you discovered through your ‘unscientific’ scientific experiment that ‘the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction.’ By always speaking up and staying steady we can learn how to express lovingly, and it helps to be aware that we are depriving others of our wisdom when we hold back.

  492. All our glands work hard keeping the body in harmony and unison, especially when we have stress or push ourselves, but we only tend to notice when something is under active or overactive. They work on a physical level to keep the body in a state of equilibrium and health but you have shown a deeper understanding about the thyroid Dianne, being related to expression to bring about a much deeper healing when we make the choice to stop holding back our true expression. Brilliant, go for it, we all benefit.

  493. When life becomes an constant experiment and conversation we have with ourselves, it is transformed into a fascinating journey of insights and understanding and even when we meet illness and disease we can welcome them and seek to know more.

  494. The future could be bright for us humans if we all start to firstly take responsibility for our own health and look at illness and disease no matter what it is, from both a scientific and energetic perspective.

  495. “The energy of choices”. If this understanding was incorporated into mainstream medical practice what a revolution there would be in healthcare.

  496. One of the smartest decisions I have made in my life is to listen to my body – much more than I would have ever imagined. It has led to 12 years of continuous positive changes.

  497. It is indeed true medicine, true science Dianne. Thank you for your piece of science. Before reading your experiences I would have never thought that a thyroid condition could have anything to do with expressing, expressing truth that is. I’ve got the same experience as you that to be able to speak truth I’m to be connected with me and my voice has to come from my body. And what I found is that a single truth can be said in a million different ways. Even though the essence stays the same. How wonderful. We are all truly wonders and we’re worth to be investigated and connected to by firstly ourselves.

  498. Thank you Dianne – it’s great to have that all in a nutshell – holding back expression, broccoli, brush sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage and beans – all of which have some benefits but which hinder a weak thyroid. Good to have this information.

  499. Dianne this is so so apt for me. I’ve been exhausted and constantly suppress my expression. I need to look at my diet also and really be responsible for what I put in and out.

  500. “In fact, the more I choose to connect with myself and hold myself in the fullness of love and understanding, stay open without sympathising, and let go of the fear, hurts, and programs, the more the other person is able to choose true expression instead of reaction.” We do a great disservice to others when we hold back our expression. We might be able to express exactly what they need in order to heal and move on. I have found it excruciating to express myself when it might be challenging for another to hear, or be around me if I’m simply expressing all of me in the way I move, but the more I do it the simpler it becomes – a positive feedback loop as Dianne has explained.

  501. It’s fascinating to consider how something like not speaking up can affect the body and its health. To know that every choice we make impacts the body is a real consciousness breaker.

  502. Thank you Dianne. I have learnt for myself over the last few years how finely tuned the thyroid is and especially how certain foods can have an effect on it.. By experimenting with foods I’ve discovered what a difference they make particularly to my energy levels, so this article is super interesting and inspiring.

  503. It seems that many doctors don’t have the time or the interest to look at the diet and how this can have an effect on the whole body just as much as the way you are living, as you have so clearly shown. I also find it a shame that often one part is looked at in isolation of all other parts yet they all work and have an effect on each other.
I know someone who has Grave’s disease which is an over active thyroid and when I did some research it shows that this has an effect on the heart, causing it to beat a lot faster and on the metabolism and many other processes in the body. So in this case, eating the foods you mentioned would be supportive to slow things down. Avoiding coffee would be another great one as why would you want to race an already racy heart.

    1. I don’t mean to have a go at doctors in my last comment, in fact I really appreciate their knowledge and what they do, but I do feel that it would be great if they were to work with diet and lifestyle to address many conditions rather than just a medication to fix a symptom. I do like the idea of working with the body and what the cause is, rather than just a bandaid to address the symptom.

  504. Feels spot on to bring more to this thyroid story than the scientifically known chemistry and physiology. My body’s nodding a big ‘yes’ in agreement.

  505. What you share Dianne is so hugely supportive and very appreciated. Essentially what I understand is that lovingly backing myself rather than protecting supports me to be all of me and not a already withdrawing protected me. With this inner knowing and confirmation of myself I can then listen and allow the other person to be as they are. When they are not meet with resistance it’s an opportunity for more openness between both. This is a moment of deeper truth and not reaction, which supports more of the same.

  506. It’s so cool how you didn’t accept what you were told – and an inspiration that you explored the root cause from an energetic perspective. It’s amazing what the body tells us when we get real with ourselves.

  507. Wow what you show clearly Dianne is the diet many of us are eating is a generous helping of fear, with a side of anxiety and a dessert of self-loathing. No wonder our body and our food is out of order when we choose to consume these emotions that are not true.

  508. Pondering further on what you share Dianne, the enormity of what medicine truly is, is massive. In a situation such as yours, you could have easily taken the solution of thyroid drugs proposed by your doctor and potentially forever continued to experience the same underlying symptoms again and again as the underlying energetic choices have not changed. Or you can heal the energetic choices underneath, treat the physical symptoms and truly move on from the condition.

  509. “How often do we think about our thyroids?”. Exposing question. I thought when reading this: how often do we think about any part of our body? And if we do, it isn’t often in a very caring let alone loving way. It usually is when our body aches, is diagnosed with an illness or disease and usually blame it, rather than assess what choices we possibly made that weren’t that loving. What if experiencing an illness or disease is a gift from the body to support in getting rid of excessive non-loving energy.

  510. It’s ground breaking that by addressing the way you lived as well as making some dietary changes you were able to let go of the thyroid disfunction completely. I am so impressed by the fact it ‘never happens’ yet you simply and responsibly showed how it could happen easily, and this is GOLD!.
I wonder how many of our so called chronic conditions are actually likely to respond to addressing how you live, like your thyroid condition did?

  511. A nifty bit of science experimentation – taking the responsibility for our ability to affect our own health and not hand ourselves over the another’s knowledge

  512. Amazing Dianne, a true testimony to the fact that it is us that do the healing, through choices we decide to make if true healing is what we really want.

  513. It feels to me at times that the drawings that we use to demonstrate the evolutionary progression from ape to man are actually going the wrong way! There was a time when we understood more about the energetic causes of illness and disease. How can it be that we have become less knowledgable in some ways than we were before?

  514. Dianne I love how you make your body a science experiment. Your joy is tangible in delivering the truth of science.

  515. I love your testing that the scientific world may describe as unscientific Dianne. It is an experiment of one person doing a very detailed analysis on self, (you), your body and your feelings and reactions that are in depth and very focused. It is called subjective and therefore biased, however could it be that when many people do the same experiment and find the same results, it makes a body of evidence that can be counted as research? This is qualitative data that one day cannot be ignored, and it starts with the sort of in depth analysis as you do.

  516. Awesome Dianne, thank you for sharing. You’ve described how medicine should truly be delivered, with each person taking responsibility for their choices and lifestyle which always has an effect on our bodies, with the assistance of healthcare professionals and guidance to then adjust diet and whatever’s needed to not only get our body back to a ‘manageable’ state but a really vital one.

  517. “Thus my first action when I got home from the doctor was to ‘tune into myself’, and ask myself this question: “In what ways have I been allowing my expression to be suppressed?” I wonder how many people do as you have done Dianne and come away from the doctors asking this question, and be willing to take more responsibility for their diagnosed illness. I know before Universal Medicine, my reaction would be to see what I could do to get myself better, without asking the question what was I doing to my body that caused me to become ill, expecting the doctor to have all the answers. This is where the The Way of The Livingness meets medicine and brings a deeper awareness and understanding as to why we get sick and arms us with the tools so that we can start to take more responsibility for our health.

  518. Thanks, Dianne. I am also learning how stifling expression is extremely damaging to the body, due to the tension of holding back or burying what we feel. Re-learning how to speak from the truth within is an ongoing process, and my body is loving it.

  519. There is so much we can do to support our own health by addressing the way we behave and express our selves, as well as how we care for our bodies. True health is an all encompassing awareness that when lived, allows every piece of our body to work harmoniously because nothing we say, think or do creates conflicting messages. Learning to speak what we need to say tenderly, respectfully without the need to justify or defend is medicine to our bodies, as is the food we eat and if necessary the medication we may need to take to support our return to health.

  520. As always Dianne your willingness to explore and take responsibility for your wellbeing is super inspirational.
Many would react in this situation and change diet /lifestyle without giving themselves the space to gently inform a program of self support.

  521. It is truly amazing the innate wisdom of our body and what a difference the quality of one’s life is when this wisdom is honoured and adhered to.

  522. It is so beautiful to feel one’s own body and what it expresses. It is a communication of pure love. If you can understand what it tells, it is like medicine you give to yourself.

  523. Love your blog Dianne. Loads of people that I know have thyroid problems and eat loads of broccoli as well as holding back their expression, so it is great that you have outlined a clear way forward to support us all.

    1. I agree – to have a harmonious diet and to look at our expression. It would be great to know if this works for other people as well.

  524. I love the way you never seem to take up option 1, which leads you down some amazingly revealing paths until you eventually are presented with the answer that you probably suspected would be there. Your Thyroid path was no different and what you have presented from your lived experience I know will help many others to begin to understand what is unfolding in their bodies and where to begin the exploration, offering them a “turning point” in their lives.

  525. It is completely obvious to me that the thyroid area of the throat is the speaking and expression area. This is where the voice box is, so it is illogical for anyone to dispute this. As women, we know how we can be affected by hormones with monthly periods, therefore, again, it is not possible to dispute the understanding you bring Dianne. Feeling the refections our bodies bring to us about our health is a natural progression and absolutely accurate too.

  526. Dianne thank you for these physiological fact, having a vulnerable thyroid it’s great to know I can experiment with my greens as well as with my expression!

  527. Yes, you are talking and experiencing in terms of the science of energy, and no matter how ‘unscientific’ that may be considered, it is, as you have demonstrated, a hugely important factor to consider, and possibly stress ahead of the conventional paradigm of scientific thought – a thought paradigm that itself has shown has vast limitations.

  528. It is wonderful that you can combine medicine with true science Diane. It is great that you take your health and wellbeing as your responsibility and work together with your doctor. Inspirational for sure.

  529. Thank you Dianne for another inspiring blog, I can relate to the fear of the backlash when speaking truth, but amazing were the results when you stayed open and expressed from truth. How wonderful is the wisdom held in our bodies and your awareness and resolve to go there.

  530. It is wonderful that you can combine medicine with true science Dianne. It is great that you take your health and wellbeing as your responsibility and work together with your doctor. Inspirational for sure.

  531. Dianne I loved reading your blog, and the responsibility you chose in responding to your diagnosis, incorporating a ‘wholistic’ way, and firstly going to the energetic root, which takes a lot of honesty to understanding what our body is actually communicating to us, and we can bring true medicine and healing to our bodies. Often we are dependent on the medical system to do it all for us, where we can work together.

  532. Our body is a miraculous organism that reflects to me a hologram of the universe. It constantly works to maintain harmony in the most amazing ways. Anatomy and physiology are my favourite topics and remind me of my divinity. I love how you describe your relationship with your body Dianne Trussell.

  533. Wow Dianne, I can totally relate to holding back expression for the same reasons that you state here. Thankfully, having chosen to attend presentations by Serge Benhayon, I have had the opportunity to become aware of this and work on bringing my expression to the world, without hiding as I used to.

  534. In your blog I can see how dedicated you are to understand your body not only on a physical level but beyond. The result you got through taking those choices is inspiring.

  535. What you share here is revolutionary yet was known by many years ago, that is the way we listen and take care of our body is so important. Your example of the change and with your thyroid levels is something that I am sure can be mimicked across many other conditions. Instead of living in the pursuit of a fix to the damage we cause ourselves it really does show to live in a way that does not damage us in the first place.

  536. Its amazing how easily we can be ‘hood winked’ into believing that certain foods are either ‘good’ or ‘bad’ for us. As children we are always told to ‘eat your greens’ regardless of whether you have a strong aversion to them or not. I remember my daughter really disliking milk as a child, but the pressure on me to give it to her, and on her to drink it from other family members was so strong that eventually she did have it for a while, although in very small amounts. As children (and adults) we do know exactly what our body wants with regard to our likes and dislikes and we would do well to pay more attention to this.

  537. Awesome Dianne, science as a living art. Your experiment shows us that everything we decide to do, the quality of our intentions, thoughts, word and actions affects the quality of our physiology, organ function and over all health. By choosing to address that aspect of the equation first you altered the core relationship that exists in our bodies between the quality of our choices that have no option but to ripple through our bodies, programming all the delicate body systems, organs, nerves and muscles in preparation for what is to come. When we can address our health at this subtle level, by observing the quality of intention and adjusting the way we choose to interact in life, this subtle programming alters our physiology, supporting delicate hormonal changes that alter the function of our sensitive organs and finely tuned systems and allow our bodies to restore proper function and harmony. The simplicity is enormous, the choice to address your health issue at this level immensely inspiring and the results most definitely gob smacking!

  538. And even when another chooses to resist and reacts, the fact that I have expressed with truth and in connection to myself I know is what is needed for all concerned and my body appreciates every movement I have made and are making.

  539. I love this living testimony to your personal experience of combining medical blood tests with energetic choices to explore where your expression has been held back and influenced the functioning of your thyroid gland.
How amazing our body is when we work in harmony with it both energetically and physically. No wonder there was incredulity on your doctors face when she saw how a supposedly almost-non-reversible symptom changed completely in such a short time. This is greater proof than any clinical lab trials.
“So there you have it: rapid reversal of low thyroid function by simply looking at my expression and putting the awareness into practice, plus a little bit of tweaking of diet!”

  540. Dianne you have blown the belief that scientists are somehow special, remote from us, work in laboratories and wear white coats. We are our own medical scientists, can carry out our own research experiments to better understand our bodies, and discover what it needs for nourishment and true health. Our bodies are living, breathing organisms, live laboratories and we are best placed to feel, take a look inside and work in unison with it, not against it.

  541. “What we’re talking about here is energy: not the calories, kilojoules, metabolism type of energy, but the energy of choices, and how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression.” Serge Benhayon has presented that “expression is everything”. I used to think expression was just what I said out loud. I now know that it is far deeper and all my words, thoughts and actions are all forms of expression, which affect not only myself but everyone else too. Like ripples in a pond the reach is never-ending.

  542. Absolutely love what you have shared here Dianne, I learned a lot as I always do from your blogs, the marriage of always looking at the physical alongside the energetic reasons for things presenting in our bodies. I know for me, my thyroid has presented me with the opportunity to look at how I have been living and expressing, not too dissimilar conclusions to what you have presented here. Having said that, what you have expressed has confirmed what i have felt and the enormity of changing how we live to support our healing.

  543. ‘Seemingly unconnected to these low thyroid signs, I did not want to eat broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower or beans.’ I love the confirmation that always comes with your blogs Dianne about how important it is to always listen to what our bodies are telling us. This feels like something you are excellent at, and to be honest I find this inspiring..

  544. Oh my goodness I love this experiment. It is as you say true science and true medicine. Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine have told us that “true medicine is how we live” and this shows us the truth of that statement. We would have a very different national health bill if everyone took the responsibility that you have taken here for his or her health.

  545. Dianne, you have an amazing ability to get yourself out of a pickle. Now for your amazing ability to shine, as you are.

  546. There is so much to life that we have ignored for so long that it is time for massive change. We need true scientists, philosophers and teachers in the mainstream to help us out of these dark ages we are still in. Thank you Dianne for your beautiful true expression it is so very inspiring and a kick up the backside.

  547. The idea of expression being much more than just speech is an interesting one. To consider the way we move expresses a lot about how we are feeling, how we are living is quite mesmerising really. I have heard it said that we can read in each other how we are by the way we move, and to practice this I have found it is true. Makes it worthwhile making our movements all about quality really and being aware of anytime my movement feels restricted.

  548. ‘…the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression.’ This is such an important factor in our lives and yet so few people know about it. Emotions can be debilitating and exhausting, and when we spend all our time reacting to life events we are avoiding taking responsibility for our part in setting up those same events.

  549. The energy that I choose to run my thoughts with makes a huge difference to my health too. It makes a difference to the way my body feels and how I feel about myself, which affects how I then relate with others and the kind of choices that I make…

  550. Brilliant Dianne! The power of true expression – and I would bet it’s not only the thyroid that it brings harmony to.

  551. Dianne, you’re honest and open sharing is inspiring to read and understand that there’s nothing wrong about us when a part isn’t functioning ‘normal’. At the same time it’s a clear communication and sign that something is needing attention. I love how you describe how you combined both practical methods / medicine as well as more deeply listening to what your body was (and forever is) communicating.

  552. It totally makes sense to me that by changing the way we live we can change our health. It is so powerful to unravel the patterns we live in and realise where we hold back and why. Feeling that emotional blackmail, that attack that comes when we speak truth is horrible but the effects of not expressing are worse. Thank you Diane for sharing this journey.

  553. Thanks Dianne, for sharing your story and the affect that the way we live, our choices can have in relation to health. In this case the holding back expression can have an effect on our bodily functions. It is no accident or just bad luck with our health but many contributing factors, and we have to take responsibility or come to terms for our part in it.

  554. It is simple and true medicine, as you say Dianne, to look at the energy behind the symptom we are experiencing and then take practical measures to support the area of the body as is needed. If we connect deeply we can feel the excess or stagnation of whatever emotion is at play. It is important to really ‘go there’ and not throw our hands up in the air, acting like we don’t know what is going on in our bodies.

  555. There is no doubt in my mind that how we express – or not as the case may be – has a powerful effect on how we feel and on our bodies. I am equally certain that our bodies have innate intelligence and know what they need to function harmoniously – if we are willing to listen. Thank you for sharing your experience here Dianne – ‘food for thought’!

  556. One day I trust that Dianne will be putting these extraordinary stories about her life and the way she tuned into her body into a book… By her extraordinary perception, and her staying open to and rekindling her Clairsentience she is opening us all up to the possibility that there is so much that we can do for ourselves if we simply start to tune in to our own bodies.

  557. Yes that is true medicine and science Dianne! Amazing sharing and it keeps so so interesting to see how much expressing ourselves in life does affect our body. I feel at the moment often quite tired and am inspired to take you as an example and have some blood tests, because I often just write it off but it is very important to test and see if there is not something more going on than just having a lot of change in my life.

  558. This illustrates how truth in expression can bring about so much evolutionary change for everyone – not just us as individuals but for all those we come into contact with.

  559. What is so inspiring about your experience Dianne is that you didn’t just go for the stock standard quick fix but explored what was truly going on for you and your body on many different levels… and it is with this very personal understanding that true healing comes about.

  560. This confirms the power of the energy we choose in everything we do and say! A very inspiring read Dianne – thank you.

  561. True healing can only occur when we choose to take responsibility for our ill health. This is exactly what you have done Dianne, working with Western Medicine but not limiting yourself there. By exploring the underlying energy that was at play for your suppressed thyroid and making a movement in a different direction towards a more expressive way of being and clearing the underlying root cause, you have the results of a healthy thyroid. Science indeed!

  562. For a start it is so good to know that not all foods that are considered good for us such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower or beans are actually good for all of us and that we need to really feel what is individually right for ourselves and not go by what is the latest fad or what someone has said. This blog is living proof that is expression is everything and nothing good comes from holding back our truth which I have been learning the hard way recently.

    1. Great point Kevmchardy, that is something I thought as well even foods that are considered as ‘healthy’ might actually not be so great for us which is why each and everyone of us needs to feel how our body responds to different foods ….. erm this is still very much work in progress for me!

  563. What have the zillions of dollars spent on cancer research delivered? Is it possible that we are looking in entirely the wrong direction? This blog exposes the big problem though. If we were to all take this route toward looking after ourselves, the gigantic profits of big pharma would totally collapse, the whole industry would be decimated, share holders and fat cats would be up in arms…It’s a gigantic business…so for sure there are many people and companies ensuring that we are kept blinded from the truth. BUT – the important thing to say, as this blog illustrates, is that this does not absolve us of our own responsibility. Whatever the system might be trying to make us do, see, or not see, we all have the truth right in front of our eyes if we choose to listen to what our bodies are screaming at us and the only person who can truly stop us from listening is ourself. Our responsibility.

  564. Imagine living in a world of full expression.. to ‘fully express’ we would have to be aware of what this actually meant – What is full expression? Is it possible if we have not fully expressed to now just fully express? Can we know what this is? Yes. Who assesses this? God. And, because you have not expressed for a long time maybe, what is going to come out? The only way to discover is to express ..

  565. What did you tell the doctor?! How did your expression go on that one?! This is a stunning blog written by an amazing, living, breathing, expressing scientist of the all.

  566. There is always a deeper way to explore life. Thanks for making this exploration very practical.

  567. “…the energy of choices…” This piece of gold has the capacity to evolve medicine and global health.
Thank you Dianne for sharing your experience and your experiment… it is a most inspiring blog to read.

  568. Recently I spoke my truth to someone whom I haven’t done that with for a very long time, what I said was heard and not reacted to, but instead it led to a conversation which brought an understanding. I was pleasantly surprised at this outcome, I could feel a shift and a deepening between us.

    1. Beautiful Ruth. I too had a similar experience recently and it exposed a pattern and belief that it is not safe to express my truth. Instead it was welcomed and allowed a much deeper intimacy to be experienced. While this is not always the case or ‘outcome’ as such, regardless of the outcome we have a responsibility to not hold this back as it holds others back.

  569. Love it – that is some scientific research I can get behind – is it statistically correct, blind tested, random repeat trials and measured against a control group? No. Can the real life results be brushed to one side and ignored as a happy accident – maybe, but not if we don’t want to miss out on learning something amazing and potentially revolutionary for the state of health in the world today.

    1. This is a classic case study. At this stage nobody worries about it being repeatable but the value is in simply recording that it is possible. Once ten people have recorded such an effect, a pattern may emerge and then research can be designed around that pattern.

      1. Good call Christoph – recording this is very supportive to expanding science and medicine.

  570. ‘I discovered that a ‘biggie’ blocking my expression is an old pattern: speak truth – get slammed; see truth and expose that which is uncomfortable for someone else – get attacked; stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy – get rejected, belittled, punished.’ – Dianne, I can very much relate to your ‘biggie’ and my experience is that it is quite common for many to struggle with this. Personally I have step by step learnt to understand that for me this pattern has been by large chosen out of comfort and a need to be liked and seen as a ‘nice person’ (whatever that is… certainly not a true person). The difference I now feel in my body when I express the full truth, is enormous – I can easily understand this made a huge impact on your thyroid.

  571. I love how simple it is to heal our symptoms and how fast our body heals when we do true steps.

  572. Thank you again Dianne for such a truly inspiring blog. I know I am grateful for such information that you share with us always.

  573. Wow this is so cool! I was recently pregnant and throughout the pregnancy my body felt a bit more tired and heavy so I deeply rested more, but I could not go near broccoli or Brussel sprouts – and this now makes so much sense. Our bodies sure do know what is needed. All we have to do is listen.

  574. This is an incredible understanding of your body Dianne, I too have felt that fear of speaking out in truth and you have nailed it with great clarity.

  575. Our bodies never lie to us, we may get confused with what it is saying but it will keep giving us messages until we attune ourselves to its form of communication. Great blog Dianne.

    1. So true Rebecca. We look on-line, we read the news, we believe the latest fad, we worry about the most recent scare-mongering…or we ignore it all and don’t give two hoots what we do to our bodies… Whatever our path, the point is that most of us are ignoring the fact that we are living with the most accurate, responsive, perfect and immediate scientific proof-deliverer that we could ever ask for – our bodies.

  576. Very very cool Dianne. Hats off to you to seeing beyond what was being presented medically and seeing what was also going on underneath. It is a good combination and the results speak for themselves!

  577. Dianne how amazing that your body was telling you what to eat and it always has done, that’s quite inspiring in that we don’t need the cookbook when we listen to our body first. But what is quite revolutionary for humankind today is that we each have the power to transform the way our bodies function if we do listen and respond to them.

  578. What I love in what is shared is how you have shown we can work with a conventional doctor. It feels empowering to work in this way with the doctor as it shows how we are equal. The doctor can offer all their brilliant procedures and tests and then we can use the results to look deeper using Esoteric medicine which offers another part to the answer and then we can experiment with our bodies by putting all of that together. As long as all the relationships stay open we have a true healing model, thank you Dianne.

  579. AMAZING, truly AMAZING You may have had a low thyroid but the vitality in your expression here is certainly felt. This is super inspiring and tangibly shows how our choices affect our health. Whilst reading this I was really aware of my throat and how it feels… it feels sluggish and a bit gloopy! .. as if I am holding back all the time and wondering how this also immediately affects my health. Time to express the truth more. What you share about energy here is beautifull ‘However, as the Ageless Wisdom Teachings explain, ‘expression’ is much more than physical actions like speaking and singing. Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result. So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?’. And I too would not have had such an awareness and understanding with regards to the truth of energy and absolute sphericalness of it, if it were not for Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. Definitely true science and medicine 💕 and thank you for the practical information you shared on food and phytosterols. What’s your next experiment? 👏 👏✨

  580. “How often do we think about our Thyroid glands?” Mmmm, never if I am honest, it is a gland I know very little about, so it is great to have an insight to its energetic quality, If I extend this question to other parts of my body, I can see that I can still only choose to be aware of my body when something goes wrong. I know if my body has to send me a message then I am not living my full potential in all areas of my life and while I may not fully understand and appreciate the message at the time, I can no longer ignore it, knowing it has a deeper meaning than the physical one it is showing me.

  581. Dianne, I love the lighthearted nature of your writing and from the symptoms you describe it would indicate that I have a sluggish thyroid which would not be surprising as I know I have been holding back the way I express as well as on a practical level been eating far too many almonds which I don’t soak. Soaking the almonds before eating and observing the way I express and interact with others is super simple.

  582. Dianne, what you are sharing is amazing, there is so much research and money and time put into treating thyroid conditions and yet what you discovered is very simple and empowering, this article is gold and will be hugely supportive for people who have thyroid conditions to help them understand what is going on and how they can support themselves.

  583. ‘Off I went back to my doctor for the follow-up thyroid function test results. She was gobsmacked because the result was normal! She said that ‘never happens!’ Wow, with your own scientific experiment you were able in just one month to reverse what was happening in your body. Truly amazing.

  584. If only “scientific testing, in a way that science would call ‘unscientific’!” was accepted, appreciated and practised by mainstream society, then there would be far less illness and disease and true healing would be common place, as is so clearly demonstrated here.

  585. Dianne I love how you decided to put things to the test within hours of uncovering what the energetic issue was. What is also great is you didn’t get rejected, but confirmation that actually by you expressing in full, you give others inspiration to do the same.

  586. This is an inspiring account of how you turned around your under-active thyroid. Not expressing fully is something I think many can relate to. It’s something I am going to look at, because I know I can hold back from saying what I feel for fear of rejection or upsetting others.

  587. I love the title and energy of this blog ‘Hello Thyroid’. It contrasts to the big dip in energy and exhaustion you felt before you understood what was holding you back. A brilliant testimony of what happens when we actively participate in our own healing by asking deeper questions and being prepared to hear truth when offered. It also confirms the value of working hand in hand with conventional medicine practitioners.

  588. What you have shared here Dianne about expression I think has really nailed it for me. I have been working a lot on mine recently but you have encouraged me to go much deeper with it. I have also been recoiling from the reaction of it in a number of similar ways too. What you have shared I feel will support me no end to follow suit. Thank you.

  589. ‘Expression begins first in the choice of energy’. Thank you Dianne, I am beginning to understand and relate this to all my daily choices.

  590. Amazing what you have shared Dianne, and especially when we actually tune in and become honest about how we are in life, we do actually know a lot more about the patterns we run than we would normally care to admit. But only through being honest and nominating those patterns can we be clear of their incarcerating grip, and thus arrest the ill-momentum that is leading us towards greater illness and disease.

  591. Dianne – this is a corker of a blog.. I can say that I almost love that you have so many physical conditions so that you can share your learning of how they all relate to your choices so clearly.. Your lived example of how you tune in and then make different choices is awesomely remarkable. What a lot you have taught humanity! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.

  592. This truly is amazing. How powerful it is to seek the energetic root cause of the physical problem and dealing with it, as well as committing to practical changes. That is true medicine. This is such an inspiring story.

  593. Wow Dianne, true healing with true medicine – addressing the root cause of the condition, taking responsibility and making the necessary changes. And voila – miracles can happen!

  594. I love how you use your body as an experiment to prove to yourself the power that choices have on transforming it back to a state of health. As humans we tend to spend too much time giving our power away to pills and potions or advice from others rather than taking the reins ourselves like you did, with extraordinary results as to what is possible.

  595. Absolutely Dianne, you show us all uncontrovertibly how following ‘health diets’ and ‘good food’ out of a book, will never work, at least on its own. Each of us is at a different point inside, with slightly different needs and dislikes. The only way we can discover this is to build a rock solid partnership with our body. Just from the title of this blog I loved that idea that we would chat with all our parts – ‘hi toe how are you today?’ ‘How’s it going – slow?’ ‘What about you elbow? hanging out for some sun?’. Why do we continue to treat our body with abstract rules instead of a personal and light humoured touch that delights? Surely this is a sound it couldn’t help but respond to.

  596. Experimenting with our bodies reactions, being aware of how we feel in any given situation, discerning how we feel after eating foods, all these things make up our health, and so while Dianne’s Doctor may be surprised by the turnaround, this is only in light of the normal parameters of not questioning. To not want to go on drugs if at all possible was my own reaction to a visit to the doctor and a diagnosis of ill health. If there are other avenues of lifestyle choices to explore first, then for my own long term wellbeing I know that I want to explore them in much the same way that Dianne did here.

  597. What an amazing turning point in your life Dianne. I love how you have been so open and honest with yourself; what you have expressed here I could totally relate to;
“I discovered that a ‘biggie’ blocking my expression is an old pattern: speak truth – get slammed; see truth and expose that which is uncomfortable for someone else – get attacked; stand in the fullness of who I am, without hiding, lessening, or sympathising with other people’s feelings of inadequacy – get rejected, belittled, punished”.
The way you have turned this around is very inspiring, thank you for sharing your experiences, knowledge and wisdom.

  598. Goes to show how our expression or suppression of it has such a huge effect on our health. I love how you were willing to take full responsibility for the reason for your thyroid condition and not just give up and turn it over for the GP to take care of. And Wow, with your honesty, willingness and dedication, look at the result. This is truly inspiring to read and what a delight for your Doctor to have a patient who is willing to not play the victim of circumstances but take responsibility for their health. “Now that is true medicine and true science”.

  599. Wow great story Dianne and it just goes to show that we are way more than simply physical machines.I know that fear you speak of very well and it is very inspirational to read your revelations on it and how you beat that fear. Thank you.

  600. It’s just so amazing how much everything is connected. We take so much for granted when it comes to our body! I have low thyroid function, and come to think of it, as well as holding back in expression (more often than I care to admit), i also eat A LOT of broccoli…might be worth doing an experiment myself.

  601. Oh my god Dianne! I could listen to you speak for days. Can you come over for dinner one night and talk about all the experiments you’ve ever done, because they are all fascinating!!

  602. Beautiful Dianne, and science confirms the reversal of your thyroid condition! I have noticed myself that when I block my expression I feel absolutely exhausted, I need to keep being me and that includes saying exactly how I feel from me – not changing my expression based on fear or anxiety of what I think others need to hear to prevent any reactions.

  603. “In what ways have I been allowing my expression to be suppressed?” Just reading this question Dianne, I got a sharp pain in my left breast – My body’s clearly telling me to up my expression of my delicate nurturing ways as a woman.

  604. Brilliant blog Dianne, I like the breakdown you give of the contributing factors that caused your thyroid imbalance, ultimately expression. To turn this round in a month goes to show how powerful our choices are and expressing fully, not holding back for any reason. Very inspiring, thank you.

  605. How much influence do our choices have on our health? And how powerful when the choices are made purposeful towards supporting the body in what it needs. How incredible and valuable the communication from our body is!

  606. This is a great living example of true medicine, science, and responsibility what a powerful combination. Thanks Dianne so very supportive and encouraging to feel your outcomes have been miraculous and not the gallows.

  607. You are a living miracle Dianne! What you have shared is simply incredible and super inspiring and, at the same time, so very, very real. One cannot help but feel the true power held within Serge’s words “expression is everything” and acknowledge that we all have access to this Ancient Wisdom.

  608. Your articles Dianne, confirms how we choose to live has an intricate relationship with our level of health and wellbeing. We make the choices about how we choose to live which involves expression of all forms, thoughts, movements and diet – and this can be observed clearly by looking back at ourselves and our bodies. This is true medicine and clearly invites us all to become an active participant in our own healing. No more heading our to the ‘professional’ with a label that says ‘Fix Me’. Thanks Dianne.

    1. Oh yeah, Christine, do you want to know the second reason I did not want to become a doctor despite pressure to do so? It was the ‘Fix Me’! I could not bear the thought of spending my life being expected to ‘fix’ people who would not take responsibility for their unhealthy choices! BTW the first reason was that I knew I wanted to be a scientist. Could have done medicine too, but not with ‘fix me’ permeating society!

  609. What I love here is that you took advice from your doctor and you decided to take responsibility and do your part and you did not give your power away to the doctor. You worked together, and that is why you got the result that you did. If however, you just did what your doctor told you, without doing your science project on yourself, you would now be on medication with all its side effects.

  610. Dianne you have highlighted many things for me but one in particular is how you shifted the responsibility for sorting out your health from the medical profession back to yourself. For most of us when we get sick we automatically hand everything over to which ever health professional we are seeing, be that a Dr, a surgeon, a chiropractor, a dentist etc but ill health of any kind is a call for us to re-connect to our bodies and explore the potential reasons why we became unwell in the first place.

  611. Dianne the ease with which you seemingly have reversed a medical condition and then shared the fact could potentially lessen the impact of what you have done but really there should be bugles playing whilst the reader reads your miraculous account! It is quite an extraordinary thing that you have done and seemingly with relative ease. Amazing!

  612. I agree Dianne – that really is true medicine! I think it’s great how you worked with your doctor – making sure to re-check your thyroid levels to check they were back on track.

  613. Wow, Dianne! Simply amazing! I am really inspired by what you have written regarding expression as well. You have given much to ponder.

  614. That’s incredible Dianne! Super inspiring and this is the perfect example of the marriage between Universal Medicine and Western Medicine. This is an empowering story and is the embodiment of how illness and disease is a sum of all our choices.

  615. Dianne you make science an absolute delight to read about. These personal experiences make it real and inspire me to conduct my own many and varied science experiments. Our body is a true teacher indeed.

  616. Serge Benhayon – Writer, Philosopher and Presenter of the Ancient Wisdom Teachings says ‘Expression is everything’. It is certainly a major key to our wellbeing and true health as your blog attests to Dianne.
“Expression begins first in the choice of energy, and the physical outplay is just the end result. So here’s the question: if my thyroid function is suppressed, what does that tell me about my expression?”

  617. Dianne, this is great to read, what an amazing turnaround by tweaking your diet and looking at your expression, thank you for sharing this.

  618. What a gorgeous fine tuned instrument our body is and I just love how you’ve approached your sluggish thyroid. You are taking medicine and research to a whole new and simple level and your sharing is a joy to read, thank you Dianne

  619. The way you were able to turn this around without having to take medication, is significant – simply by applying a few adjustments in the way you look after yourself on a daily basis, true change can happen. I am experiencing this in my own life too, nevertheless your sharing is deeply inspiring.

  620. Amazing science, thank you Dianne – you’re one of a kind and your insights and willingness to truly and honestly do the research and go deeper, a whole lot deeper, are very valued.

  621. Hi Dianne, I love how you came to express by connecting with yourself and holding yourself in the fullness of love and understanding. Understanding plays such a big part in expression as it allows us to stay open without sympathising and without coming from our hurts so the other person is more likely to be able to hear us and not be just reacting to a reaction. Great blog . . .great experiment!.

  622. I know that letting myself be seen in full is the true healing my body is begging for. Expression to me is this living, feeling full, vital and joyful, you have inspired me to choose my fullness, to notice where and why I may be choosing the dull, and to stay very present, observing this behavior. My ability to express from my steadiness is not in question, what is, is that which clouds it.

  623. Your article is very inspiring, whilst also a window into the way our bodies work. And an invitation to consider and adjust our lives to mirror what is truly being ask for from our bodies.

  624. I loved reading how simple your relationship with your body has become, because who talks to their thyroid or any part of them for that matter? The amount of wisdom and understanding of life that can come from such conversations is huge and it is inspiring to read how with the medical support and by your own inner conversations you where able to reverse something that normally would mean a lifetime of medication. Thank you Dianne.

  625. Awareness is wonderful. Awareness coupled with scientific observation is amazing. Well done, Dianne.

  626. What a beautiful sharing Dianne and so supportive of listening to our bodies and how we feel. True medicine is lived medicine as you share here with the ageless wisdom guiding us from our knowing inside. I love your intimate expression of writing from your own experiences.

  627. What magnificent organisms – our bodies; communicating with us constantly if we choose to learn the language and to understand what a truly supportive partnership we can forge. The being and the body working together – a magnificent team as you have illustrated Dianne!

  628. This blog is a big boot of responsibility up my bum. If it is that ‘easy’ and that ‘immediate’ to make such radical changes to our bodies well-being and thus our expression and reflection to all of humanity….then what else can we do?

  629. It is such a joy to read another of your insightful and fun blogs Dianne. The part that I needed to hear this morning was how you would ‘react by either getting away from the person as quickly as possible, or silencing and shrinking myself, calibrating my expression down to let them stay in their comfort zone. Oh yuk! I now know that, apart from harming myself, that harms the other person by denying them the opportunity for greater awareness. How irresponsible!’. This precisely describes how I feel and is a very old pattern that each time I am offered the opportunity to change becomes more and more uncomfortable. History certainly does repeat itself until we sit up and at long last take notice and claim ourselves in full without any blame. If I simply express how I feel that is enough.

  630. So much truth and lived experience in this examination of a sluggish thyriod Dianne, this is a great example of true science where we responsibly work with the wisdom of traditional medicine and the wisdom and observation of the body.

  631. It’s fascinating that your body had always rejected the green vegetables that would have lowered your thyroid function even further – it is so important that children are supported to make their own choices if they feel strongly that something is not right for them. I asked to be tested for gluten intolerance nearly 30 years ago but my homeopath felt it was unnecessary but when I finally took the initiative and cut it out myself I felt the improvement straight away and recognise I could have followed my original impulse and saved my body a lot of discomfort.

  632. There are so many amazing examples in these pages and comments of the healing that is on offer to us if we choose to surrender to that which our body calls for, for true self-care, true nurturing and deep regard. And the rewards are far greater than simply a reversal of a degenerative state, or a recovery from a chronic condition – that is only the beginning of what is on offer if we are to truly listen and be aware.

  633. Eh hello, this needs to be in a medical journal please, and part of all doctors training. Imagine how much money and time we could save the heath care system world wide, not to mention our own self empowerment if we took responsibility for our health.

  634. Thank you for sharing this amazing example of science and medicine in action and how the energy we choose has such a crucial impact on our health and wellbeing and can essentially drain us if we choose to suppress what is there to be expressed. I have always known that my levels of exhaustion are rarely related to physical activity but am blown away by how you managed to reverse something that you were facing being on medication for the rest of your life for. How often is this repeated throughout the world and how many people are coping not just with e.g. lack of expression but also with the side effects of medication etc?

  635. Love your approach to scientific observation and experimentation. One that keeps open enquiry observes evaluates and observes some more, with no blind beliefs into dogma of any kind, especially that of our current scientific paradigm that rules today with an iron fist to maintain its supremacy position. Great that people everywhere are waking up to the power of their own observations and understanding.

  636. Brilliant Dianne, I love what you share here about your science experiments straight from the wisdom of your body. Expressing myself more clearly and honestly has had a huge impact on my own long term under active thyroid, but there is still more for me to get to. I never knew this about Broccoli, I’m going to do a little research and take it out of my diet to see how my body feels about it. Thank you.

  637. Dianne I am super inspired this is simply incredible. The choice to express and make a few dietary changes or a lifetime of drugs. It is quite incredible to see another example of how illness and disease really is lifestyle related and we are all responsible for our own lives. I know there are areas I avoid looking at in my life but you’ve inspired me to do some science experiments as well.

  638. Wow what an inspiration, Dianne turing your Thyroid function around in the way that you did. This is a strong testimony in showing how our choices and ways of expression affect our health. Thank you for sharing!

  639. I love how this experiment brings science into the practical everyday with no mystery or need for further research in what to do – just simple common sense, the Ageless Wisdom put into practice, a supportive doctor and an honouring of the body. Thank you Dianne.

  640. What a great experiment, and so simple. This really brings it home how important our expression is on our energy levels, and how looking at our food in more detail can benefit the body.

  641. I love how you lay out the scientific truth for us, Dianne, simply and with great humour. The state of our health and wellbeing is truly in our hands, and by being willing to look at how our patterns of behaviour impact on the body, we can baffle the medical profession no end due to the dramatic shifts and changes at a physical level.

  642. This is fascinating to me. The way we love and what we choose has such a huge impact on our bodies. Nothing can be discounted and everything is felt. I’m inspired to read about your journey and how, by choosing to simply be you, you’ve worked through the thyroid problem.

  643. That’s awesome Dianne and goes to show when we take care of ourselves and responsibility for our lives we can change pretty much anything. It is great to do these experiments rather then simply taking things as black and white. So too often we would take the pills and that would be the end of it without actually addressing the cause. It is amazing how much energy comes 1st and then the physical comes after. So change the energy and the physical out play will subsequently change.

  644. A great point Susan. I also remember being told to eat everything on my plate – but I didn’t decide how much I wanted to put there on it in the first place.

  645. “What we’re talking about here is energy: not the calories, kilojoules, metabolism type of energy, but the energy of choices, and how the energy we choose to let run our thoughts and actions and the way we are in our bodies can lower us into emotions or elevate us to a greater, truer form of expression.” As Serge Benhayon has presented since 1999 – “energy is everything/”

  646. I love this blog. Listen to our bodies – each expressing their individuality – true science at work. Thankyou for sharing your thyroid experience Dianne. Taking responsibility for our health could save the Health Services millions.

  647. Wow Dianne that is really something that is rocking science for me – thank you for not holding back such an amazing experience. I found it very inspirational how you look at your issues and how you go for it – I could feel that if more people would got for it like you our health-system would be not in the same state as it is now (nearly bankrupt). You offer us a possibility to change the way to address illness differently – how powerful and life changing is that!

  648. Wow Dianne this is extraordinary yet the power came from you and your choices. What a massive confirmation that expression is super important and not just on the levels we consider it to be. How we express all of who we are and what we feel and say it anyway, not in fear of what is going to come back to us, but because it is the truth and it needs to be shared. This is super inspiring – thank you.

  649. This has been fascinating to read, Dianne, because I came from the opposite end, thyroid-wise. Mine was hyperactive and I didn’t fancy the radioactive iodine to zap it or the surgery to remove / reduce it so I opted for the medication Carbimazole to suppress it. Overactive thyroid people are usually very skinny but I was obese, so more was at play for me too. I hadn’t realised that certain foods were good/bad for it but I changed my diet anyway to gluten and dairy free and the weight dropped off. Before taking the medication, I was always buzzy, and my hands got so shaky I couldn’t thread a needle, and I was on the medication for six years (originally they said 2 years max but as I had no side effects they allowed me to stay on it longer. For me the stressful way I was living was a partial cause, and now, with no medication and a much more calm lifestyle I am ‘borderline’ hyperactive with T3 T4 in the normal range but TSH below normal (Medical terms for the hormone tests they do). There is much more I can explore with my expression and your blog has inspired me to work on that and see what happens. It is amazing how much we hold back for fear of getting a reaction and then the habit becomes ingrained and we don’t even realise we are doing it. I love that the more you expressed the easier it was – for me I can feel my body relax when I allow myself be open and honest about what’s going on.

  650. I love to read this blog today and be reminded that when we get honest with ourselves, our body can communicate so much in the way of the patterns that no longer serve us, and in your case, holding back from expressing your truth in fear of reaction and attack…. but with the new awareness gained from being very honest with ourselves, we can then make different choices, and as you have highlighted Dianne, you now have a rapid reversal of low thyroid function.

  651. I always love the way you get right inside an issue Dianne, not accepting what it looks like from the outside but knowing that there will be an answer if you choose to look deeper. For someone who has been experiencing a thyroid issue this blog comes at the perfect time. Lots to ponder on here and obviously much needing to be expressed!

  652. “Either getting away from the person as quickly as possible, or silencing and shrinking myself, calibrating my expression down to let them stay in their comfort zone… apart from harming myself, that harms the other person by denying them the opportunity for greater awareness” – wow, this is a great point I hadn’t thought about. Denying others a possibility for more awareness – that is a big ouch.

  653. Where does this go? If this big a turnaround can happen in just one month… what happens over three months, six months…Since I am absolutely sure that you are going to commit to and expand upon what you have already put in place I’d be fascinated to hear what then the test results are like and also how your body feels. This is true, living, science. Please keep us posted.

  654. This is so fabulous to read. Not just the stunning story but that absolute ease and joy with which you express it Dianne. You have totally embraced the opportunity that your body gave you. If everyone were to look at illness and disease as this opportunity for deeper evolution, the whole world would be a radically different place. You are totally awesome.

  655. Wow! I love your writing and expression of integrating science and everyday living so understandable and practical.

  656. So simple Dianne, what you offer here is medicine and science of the future. To have such a quick turnaround in your health, by choosing to combine what you know about yourself and your body and the teachings of Universal Medicine and The Way of The Livingness is truly powerful. We can not underestimate the power we have in our own hands when we are willing to look past the illness and look at areas of our life that we are not living in full.

  657. When I was growing up we had to eat all of our vegetables on our plate. That was where the family dog came to my rescue many times. The dog was also my marker of what was good for me and even the dog would not eat lima beans, that proved my point but did not help in making them disappear from my plate. What we eat, when we feel what the body needs is true science in the field.

  658. It is time conventional medical journals began to publish blogs like this, and alongside articles based on evidenced based research.

  659. A great example Dianne of how easy it is to miss signs our body gives us that something is wrong and continue in the same way until a medical diagnosis shocks us into action. Your healing came from your willingness to reflect deeply, question and be honest with yourself. Only when you started to express from truth, and make dietary adjustments, did your thyroid respond. More evidence that life style or dietary changes alone do not lead to self healing. What does is the energy behind our choices, self care and a deeply loving relationship with self.

  660. Thank you Dianne for sharing your experiment in living science to show that true expression is essential to the harmony of the workings of our body.

  661. I do appreciate the way you approach life as one big experiment Dianne, and in that finding your way to the energetic truth of what your body is telling you. By your sharing you are inspiring me to become the scientist of my own life and with that of all of life, and to bring science back to the people, there where it belongs.

  662. Dianne it is inspiring how you apply science to your everyday living. I’m astounded at how quickly you turned the situation with your thyroid around, a lesson to us all about how we can actively be involved in our own health, rather than handing all the responsibility over to the professionals and being passive onlookers.

  663. “A positive feedback loop. In the endless ‘mirrors reflecting mirrors’ human situation, this new response to new expression reduces the fear of being attacked, which then makes it easier to express fully, which reduces reactions and attacks, which makes it easier to express fully… and so on” The way you turned your health around is incredible Dianne and only the tip of the iceberg. This sentence reveals a path to true and lasting wellness which is untouchable no matter what state our body is in.

  664. I love your simple and down to earth approach to your life and taking care of your health Dianne. So practical and it makes so much sense. I had an aversion to the same vegetables as a child and have often wondered at different stages in my life if my thyroid was not quite functioning as it should be. It is quite remarkable that by taking a few simple and responsible steps towards looking after yourself more carefully, it is infact possible to turn certain conditions around without any medical intervention.

  665. I got goose-bumps after reading your blog Dianne…” So there you have it: rapid reversal of low thyroid function by simply looking at my expression and putting the awareness into practice, plus a little bit of tweaking of diet!
Now that is true medicine, and true science!…” Absolute gold and the future of medicine. This is an example of taking responsibility for our ‘dis-ease’ that has the capacity to reduce the burden and financial strain of our public health system.

  666. Dianne, the proof is in the pudding so to speak and you have proved what medicine cannot fully accept, that the way we live and listening to our bodies supports us back to a more “healthy ” body. Sometimes it is not about the pills!!

  667. I think it’s awesome Dianne, getting to the energetic cause of medical conditions. Your blog I’m sure will help people who are having issues with thyroid function.

  668. The role of foods in working with thyroid conditions (or any condition really) remains uncertain for me. I’d never been a huge fan of broccoli (though enjoyed it from time to time) until I discovered baked broccoli. I’ve been eating a lot of this over the last year in particular (as in every other night) – during which time my thyroid condition has improved dramatically. My sense is food and diet plays far less of a role than we think in the treatment of disease (how many diet-based ‘cures for cancer’ exist for example, that have not managed to reverse our cancer statistics?) and that it’s always about the energy we are living in and with first and foremost. Knowing what works best for our bodies is essential but I suspect only part of the total package that is being presented to us when an illness or condition emerges.

    1. A very important point, Victoria, we must never slide into ‘just because it works for one person means it works the same for all’. Everyone must do their homework with their own body foremost!

  669. Dianne I truly love the way you approach learning about your body. A mix of research, self observation, self awareness and trust. Your doctor must just love working with you. I for one am grateful for the methodical way you approach the science that is your body. A great learning for everyone, including myself. I recently listened to a whole bunch of presentations by Functional Medicine Doctors on the thyroid and it was great and I did learn a lot. But what you offered in your article was a perspective that was not on offer with these presentations. One that is beyond diet and lifestyle and one that looks at every way in which we are living, that results in us being less that who we are.

  670. I’ve had an underactive thyroid that has manifested as an auto-immune response for about 4 years, and initially tried to treat it naturopathically and by looking at the energetic underpinnings – the latter all along the lines you describe Dianne (I relate to your expression-contraction dilemma well!). After six months with little improvement I accepted that I needed more direct intervention and began taking the recommended synthetic medication and then, after further resistance to the idea of a bio-identical compound produced from pig hormones, switched to that, which was by far the better option for me. This acceptance of the medical support has helped enormously at the physical level and just the other week after my regular 6-monthly review received the happy news that my inflammatory markers (related to the auto-immune aspect) had reduced by half. This was particularly astounding given I’d been told my condition would only get worse, or stabilise if I was lucky (as it had been doing until this point). There have been a number of things I would say have helped make the change but I would have to say one of the biggest has been not only working on expression and presenting truth as it is described here, but looking at how far away I was from expressing and living – moving – as a woman first and foremost… which is, after all, one of the most fundamental aspects of my current form of expression: after all, I’m here this time around as a woman. I’ve changed how I live and move enormously and therefore express a lot more of the fundamental me than I ever have, This feels pivotal to my expression journey. Next step? To look at how far away I am from living and moving 100% in my expression as a divine, soul-full Son of God, an aspect of me even more fundamental than that of being a woman.

  671. Inspiring Dianne. Amidst all that you shared I felt your unwavering commitment to empower yourself and not see yourself as a victim of the condition. With that level of commitment and willlingness to be deeply honest, no wonder there was such a turnaround. Miracles happen as per normal course when there is solid basis within us of truth.

  672. Wow Dianne!!! Amazing, amazing blog. What you’ve shared is certainly ‘true medicine and true science’ this really highlights how much our choices affect our health, our body and wellbeing. The changes you made were subtle but the results were huge. Wow again, this makes me become so much more aware of my energetic responsibility and choices, it affects us a lot more than we think.

  673. Thank you Dianne for another inspiring sharing. To be active in looking at what we need to change in our lives in relation to illness and disease and doing so can make an amazing turn around as you have shared with us here! And as you mention being aware of the energy we are letting in and the quality we are living makes a huge difference too.

  674. How very interesting Dianne and Great that you took responsibility for your own health and well-being by adjusting your diet and lifestyle. Not speaking up and expressing our truth is a lifestyle choice just as it is to live a life where we expresses our Truth consistently, no different, except one leads us down the path of Ill-health and the other leads us to healing.

  675. Dianne, this is incredible and totally accessible too. You have brought life in to science and science in to life. Brilliant!

  676. Dianne, this is amazing, and what I feel is key here is your willingness to accept what your body was telling you and to explore doing things in new ways, both expression and diet. When you spoke of expression that really struck a chord, as I can see and feel where I can hold back in expressing for fear of reaction but your examples are very instructive, stay open, and be living and stay connected to the body – I may just have to experiment with this.

  677. We can never underestimate the power of expression in true medicine, this needs to be documented and documented, because opening up our expression and communication aligned to our bodies is a healing that deeply supports conventional medicine, and we have yet to discover and accept this as fact.

  678. Rejection can feel scary and we want to protect ourselves to not be rejected, I know this well too as most of my life I have become someone I am not so as to protect myself and be accepted. But what I do not accept is myself, and that is horrible to feel as it is hurting my body—we reject ourselves and our bodies always reveal that. But when I started to accept myself more, my body rejoices and it becomes stronger and this positive feedback loop that you have shared Dianne allowed me to feel deeper into rejection, and rejection from the outside does not bother me as much as before. When I do feel a deep pang of rejection, it is always a self-rejection that has occurred, which I can also choose to recorrect with self-appreciation.

  679. How inspiring Dianne. A clear testimony that there’s a lot more going on that meets the eye. I love how you’ve tuned into yourself and asked yourself the question what could have led to the thyroid conditions. This shows me once again that we allready have the answers to our questions. We’re only to feel inside what’s going on!

  680. Dianne, what a brilliant and undeniable testimony of the fact that life is medicine, that what we choose is directly reflected through our bodies and how our bodies are always guiding us to live in connection to and expression of our truth. Living and as such expressing truth is our natural way of being and living anything less that this truth is a resistance that leads us to experience the exhaustion we as a whole are clearly struggling with today. You have offered a way forth that highlights the power we all have to choose to be aware of what energy we are choosing to live in, if it is in accordance to the truth of who we naturally are or not.

  681. Having a fear of rejection if we express truth sets up a negative feedback loop. We get back what we expect to get back and the other person, although they may get to hear words of truth, doesn’t get to feel the power and absoluteness of truth.

  682. Wow! I have learnt so much about the thyroid in such a short space of time. I love learning facts about the body but more so I love reading about how the body can teach us everything we need to know. I had to laugh at the list of green vegetables that inhibit thyroid function, as most kids seem to have an aversion to a lot of these vegetables. Are they onto something?

  683. True medicine indeed Dianne. Awareness of the part we play in the illness and disease we experience is the pathway to truly healing. At times the medication is necessary, however I love that your willingness to experiment and look more to the root causes allowed you to prove otherwise.

  684. Awesome blog Dianne. This just goes to show what is possible when we take a wholistic look at our health with deepening awareness and address the energetics at play and how vital expressing and not holding back can be.

  685. It is amazing how we can turn our health around by becoming responsible about energy and our behavioural patterns. And even if the actual physical symptoms do not leave it is worth turning the patterns around anyway! I had a very similar experience with gum disease Dianne. I was afraid of pain at the dentist and so didn’t go for 30 years. When I finally went my gums were not in a good state, in fact some parts were so dangerously low that I was expected to lose 4 teeth by the time I am 70 (only a couple of years). So I undertook the program offered to me by the periodontist and practised it religiously (in the true sense of the word, very present and connected to my body). I was to return in 6 months. My life had changed quite a bit in the meantime and I was living with a lot less disregard and much more self-care. When I returned in 6 months the periodontist could not believe the turn-around, which she or her partner had never seen before – it is generally accepted that you cannot turn around gum disease from the level that I had. It is now expected that I will not lose those teeth.

    1. Another incredible story demonstrating what is possible if we are willing to get honest about what is at the core of our symptoms and take responsibility for turning things around. I couldn’t agree more that it is worth addressing our patterns whether we see positive health impacts or not as our ingrained patterns make for a miserable life. I also get the sense that our body silently works to keep us going while we ignore a lot of early symptoms that something is not right. We often wait for things to get mighty uncomfortable before we take action. It makes much more sense to deal with our stuff before our body is forced to get our attention.

    2. Wow , this is incredible Lyndy what you share over your experience with gum disease. Perhaps a blog? Because how many people live with gum disease believing that there is nothing they can do.

  686. Awesome scientific experiment Dianne, and thank you for sharing the results that show so clearly how diet and expression can so dramatically affect our physical wellness – this is something Doctors need to take note of.

    1. Hear, hear Stephanie. I totally agree, our body is absolutely worth listening to. Our body always works consistently to restore balance and harmony, it supports us when we have made choices to disturb this, by sending us messages constantly, and we if ignore them, then it sends louder and louder messages. Sometimes these messages can be so loud that they make us literally stop, i.e chronic illness or disease.

  687. Wonderful truly scientific blog Dianne. As you have testified here, it is well worth expressing what we feel is the truth. I have been finding that if I speak the truth about what I am feeling, and simply leave it at that without having to be ‘right’ (or ‘wrong’) then this works well – not always comfortable for everyone, but has the potential to bring a healing. The one you are communicating to doesn’t get hit because you are just saying ‘what you feel’ about the situation, and you have expressed it without having to swallow it down and get indigestion!

  688. Another great living experiment Dianne, one that brings into action a truth that in turn changes the physical, providing true healing.

  689. A very timely blog for me to read Dianne. The expression of truth is certainly about choosing the energy first and what flows from there. Accepting that I hold truth within my body and choosing to make my life about expressing from this truth is at the core of all our health and wellbeing. ‘…letting go of the fears, hurts and programs..’ opens up the space for truth.

  690. This is definitely true medicine. I remember the days when something went wrong with my body and the first thing I would do is ring and make an appointment with a ‘professional’ and attend with the expectation that they would fix the problem. This usually created a never ending cycle of handing over my power to someone else and never taking responsibility for my life – my health. Life is medicine and our health is a direct result of the choices we make. It is all about taking responsibility for our livingness and as you have shown Dianne, this involves the willingness to go more deeply into the beliefs, ideals and pictures we allow to dictate our interactions with others. No more holding back.

  691. What a brilliant blog Dianne! It makes me wonder if humanity is so tired, run down and energetically drained, our thyroid conditions are sure to be a common place problem! What does this say about our expression globally then? Are we all holding Love back?

    1. Yes we are Joshua. Imagine if we started to join the dots between events like Brexit and our thyroids. This may seem far fetched or a tenuous connection, but if we were to start looking at things with such a universal view we would start to evolve towards universality. Brexit is absolutely relatable to our expression and to us holding our love back. How else can it be that so many of our brothers feel so separate from each other when we are in fact all equal?

  692. I have rarely before read such an insightful blog on how to deal with illness and disease. If we not just see the physical but also look at what this part of the body reflects to us we can learn and heal so much. Thank you for sharing Dianne.

  693. Your experience beautifully highlights why the Ageless Wisdom is ageless – because it stands true to the test of time.

  694. True science and true medicine indeed Dianne and a sturdy example for other low thyroid sufferers. I would love to take this research to an empirical level as it seems it would benefit many.

  695. Brilliant Dianne – your sharing this is very appreciated. I know only too well the ‘Oh Yuk’ you refer of being afraid to speak up. It is showing up in a discomfort pain in my liver. Nothing visible on tests, yet palpable in my body. Food choice is very supportive, yet with out the essential ingredient of speaking, the food choice becomes over ridden by the pull to suppress what it is I’m not facing, so I go around again. One moment of realization I had is – if this was the last moment ever available to understand and clarify the situation, is this the quality I really want to leave the situation in. The response was no, so therefore I support myself in the knowing that it is far more loving and caring to come forward and not hide.

  696. ’Now that is true medicine, and true science!’ – Brilliant Dianne, I can feel the enormity of this simple statement.

  697. I love this blog thank you so much Dianne, this is pure and true science, using the before and after responses of your body. Listening to what our body is telling us gives us so much information as our body always tells the truth of the effects on it from what we are choosing. There are so many people – including me – with a struggling thyroid which is a key gland for our overall hormonal balance and true vitality, so what you have shared here is gold for so many, on so many levels.

  698. A brilliant and oh so simple turnaround Dianne that leaves little room for doubt as to the power that lays in our hands, or more specifically, in our bodies. By going to the energetic root cause and addressing that, seeking medical support and adjusting our lifestyle to accommodate this, we can literally perform miracles.

A little known fact is that it takes more energy to suppress the truth than to speak it. But because we have spent lifetimes being configured to not express what is true due to the uproar it will seemingly cause, we seem all too willing to reduce ourselves in this way. Humanity would not be so exhausted if this were not so. Having the courage to speak truth helps not only ourselves, but all others in the process. Even if there is reaction, the quality of what we are reflecting is far greater and well worth the temporary wobble we may experience as we all learn how to take these steps back to the truth we are born from but have departed from in the sense that we are not expressing what is so natural for us to express – God’s love, truth, harmony, stillness and joy.

    1. I agree Liane, “Having the courage to speak truth helps not only ourselves, but all others in the process.” And I see more and more the love that is in these choices. When we choose to not avoid any longer an expression because of a personal hurt we hold onto, but go for the service for all and express what is needed and called to be expressed – this is a choice out of claimed love again.

  699. Awesome Dianne, that is true medicine and true science! It’s our personal responsibility to stop, take a deeper look, do the work, research your behavior, research what science has discovered, and through your body bring it back to truth!

  700. Hello Dianne and I am enjoying your writing and the way you give us all a window into your life. I have heard a few people, women talking about under active and over active thyroids which usually lead to medication. It’s great to see another option for them as opposed to just being medicated for the rest of their lives. It’s great to have the medication there as a support but not a long term treatment for conditions like you are talking about. You are leading the active treatment of yourself in a different way to what many would consider normal. We normally either simply take the medication and sign off for how ever long is needed or we look at alternatives and give ourselves over to them in hope. What you have done is still seek the treatments but equally put your hand up to be a part of that treatment and look at what is going on in more ways then one with your body. A great blog with equally great information about how we all can become part of anything, a living part. Thank you Dianne.

  701. It is exhausting to call in an energy to be less than who we truly are. I am also observing areas where I do that and the consequences.
