Healing Fibromyalgia with Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and Conventional Medicine

 By SD, medical administrator, UK

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a condition that has both chronic pain and chronic fatigue as its markers.

I had been experiencing pain in my legs for which I was seeking the perfect pair of shoes to remedy, and deep exhaustion for which I was supplementing myself with plenty of sugary foods to keep me going.

But these coping mechanisms eventually could not stand against the tide of fibromyalgia which came crashing down around me. There came a moment when I looked down at the page on my work station and saw the words spinning; by the time I got home I could hardly move or breathe.

The next few months were spent trying to figure out what was ‘wrong with me’ until eventually the doctor gave the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. He said it was a chronic condition, that I would spend the rest of my life in pain, and then he prescribed me some anti-depressants and referred me to a physiotherapist and a consultant who specialises in chronic pain.

Personally, during this time I was a mess. My whole body hurt. I was depressed. Alone. And scared. It felt like my life was over, which in a way it was. I had to quit my job because I could not stand or walk. Whenever I moved it felt like broken glass was scraping along the insides of my muscles. There was literally nothing I could do but lay down and rest, which was hugely difficult as I was also a single parent of two small boys.

And yet, here I am today and I no longer have those symptoms, which so tore my life apart. In fact I am more vital and strong than ever before and although I have myself to thank for that, the combination of Conventional Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy were definitely the deciding factors in my recovery.

Conventional Medical Practice and how it helped me to recover

I was given an appointment to see a pain specialist at our local hospital for rheumatic diseases, and although our meeting was brief, the words she said were enough to change my life forever.

The consultant, who was a lovely young woman, described fibromyalgia as a condition of the nervous system, which was registering pain where there was no cause for pain. She said that it can come as a result of extreme stress in life. But the thing that she most wanted me to understand, is that there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction. She said that I could move through the pain and it would not cause further harm, and in fact she encouraged me to move as much as possible – to reintroduce true movement back in to by body again.

With these words I left the hospital deeply knowing that:

  • I had a lot of work to be getting on with.
  • It was totally and completely understandable that I was in the state I was in, considering what I had experienced in the previous few years – no judgment.
  • That I had in fact been living with fibromyalgia for some time, as I could recognise traits of it from when I was a child, and although not as extreme then, it was not surprising that I was feeling this way now, given how I had been living.
  • I had been given the keys to my freedom, because I could move again without fear of causing myself more harm, that the pain was not real in the sense that it was not actual nerve damage, more like nerve exhaustion, which I knew I could work with and heal.
  • It was my responsibility to heal.

My next appointment at the hospital was with a physiotherapist who also specialises in chronic pain. He was a very sweet young man who drew out onto a large piece of paper several circles and labelled each one as an element of life such as sleep, work, play etc. He explained to me how each of these elements need to be in harmony with each other in order for there to be harmony within the human body, that we need all of these elements in equal measure to feel whole. In looking at the diagram, I could instantly see how out of balance my life had become, especially with sleep. Life for me at the time was all about everyone else, running around after what they needed, never really taking the time to care for myself or my body and thus collapsing in to bed each night, only to wake up in the morning still exhausted but needing to get through the day. I could see how this is how I had always lived, it was not new or recent. This is the way I had chosen to live my life ever since I was a child.

The physiotherapist explained to me that when we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion and eventually fibromyalgia – my life in a nut-shell.

Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy the beginnings of choosing to be responsible

I left the hospital with a very real and clear understanding of myself and of the choices I had made which led me to that point. The prescription for anti-depressants was still sitting at home and I knew I could use them at any point should I need to, which was very supportive.

The next place I went to for help, was my local Esoteric Connective Tissue Practitioners. These were hands-on sessions where I lay on the treatment couch, fully clothed and with warm blankets over me. The practitioner would very lightly place their hands on the back of my ankles whilst I was laying on my back and do a very delicate rhythmical movement to which eventually my whole body would surrender and I would drift off in to a deep sleep.

The main feature of these sessions for me, was the fact that on the couch during the treatment, there was no pain. No anxiety, stress, or tension. I would feel whole and complete. I would feel warmth from the inside out that spread throughout my whole body.

This warmth, I came to understand, was the real me the truth of who I am. Not because the practitioner told me so, but because I could feel it. It was familiar, ancient in fact. It was like coming back to the security of my mothers arms after the ordeal of being born and feeling her unconditional love for no other reason than the fact that it was me she was holding.

These sessions happened each week and slowly, slowly with time, I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself that I experienced during the sessions. And eventually, the pain stopped.

During this time I also worked on exercise, inspired by the sweet person that I was discovering I am; I would move with gentle movements that honoured how I was feeling, never pushing myself but equally always challenging myself to take just one more step, building up the number of steps I could take each day.

In addition, I worked on my self-talk, as I came to realise that this precious child I was developing a relationship with inside did not deserve to be spoken to with harsh words. And I decided that if words spoken in my mind made me feel bad about myself, then they were simply not from me or the love that I am, they were a learnt behaviour that did not belong to me or my body and therefore I gave them no time – sometimes I would actually tell them to go away which helped enormously.

So, to say that my life has been transformed by the support of Conventional Western Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is an understatement. And yet, transformed is exactly what it has been. I stand here today, discharged from the care of the hospital and seeing the Esoteric Practitioners occasionally through the year as a way to continue deepening and building on what has been lived and learnt so far. I can walk, I can sleep, I can enjoy time with my children, family and friends. I can work again, which is a blessing in itself.

There is a commitment to life now that I am experiencing which is unlike anything I have known in myself before – because, somehow, this delicate and precious being that I am naturally has the power, the vitality, and the strength to diligently work and toil each and every day without getting exhausted, emotional, or drained. In fact I have the ability to bring all the love that I feel for myself to all the places and the people that I meet. Which is in itself a transformative event.

  1. I find it fascinating that you went to see the physiotherapist who also specialises in chronic pain and he drew circles to represent the different elements of life such as sleep, work and play and how each of these elements need to be in harmony with each other; this makes so much sense and I wondered if we were supported to know this from young as part of our education to look after our bodies by taking more care of ourselves, would we have such high rates of illness and disease that we are currently experiencing.

  2. SD, I loved this statement, ‘I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself’. This statement to me feels you were not identified with the condition, the label we give ourselves and live from this point, when you knew you were more than this.

It is common for us to have a diagnosis so we attach and can be identified by this, when our first identification is the truth of who we are. We have strayed so far from this, yet this essence hasn’t left us, it is just hidden with all the garbage we have picked up along the way. If we are willing to go there and with the right support, everything can be healed.

  3. SD what a transformation you have experienced, thanks so much for sharing with everyone. How interesting that was both Western Medicine and Esoteric Medicine that have supported you to make different choices in your life so that now you are pain free and much more loving towards yourself and all others.

  4. You were constellated to meet practitioners, both medical, and esoteric, who guided you to better understand fibromyalgia and your part in creating it. With this understanding we are empowered to do something about it and support our body back to harmonious health. It’s beautiful to know that when we’re ready, directed to the teachers we need.

    1. Kehinde, I loved your statement, ‘it’s beautiful to know that when we’re ready, directed to the teachers we need’ – that is so true. We are offered the right amount of support by the right practitioners, we just need to turn up and play our part.

  5. When I had chronic pain the only thing that worked was a similar combination of medical support in the form of medications and physical therapy and esoteric connective tissue therapy and exercises. Both were necessary for the recovery to take place.

  6. When you are in chronic pain, not identifying with the pain is so important (I know as I have had chronic pain) and so any modality that supports people to reconnect with and feel their natural state underneath the pain is invaluable in my view.

  7. “I left the hospital with a very real and clear understanding of myself and of the choices I had made which led me to that point. ” Becoming aware of how we contribute to our ills is such an awakening. From then on we can make different choices – and thus obtain different results, as so many students of Universal Medicine have shown to be the case,.

  8. This is the 2nd time in a day I am being reminded of how much impact the way we talk to ourselves has on us, and how it can play a big part in restoring true vitality. Obviously something for me to look into.

    1. Fumiyo like you I am being constantly reminded that the way we talk to ourselves actually isn’t us. I am reeducating myself to understand that the way we move has a huge impact on our bodies we either move in a way that precipitates negative energy hence the negative thoughts or we move in a way that is positive and supports our bodies to take greater care of it self. These two energies are passing through us constantly it is up to us to align. Most of us are totally unaware of this fact but when it is drawn to our attention then we have the choice to de-configure ourselves or not. I have found Universal Medicine to be hugely informative of the two energies and how life really is, for those that make the choice to know.

  9. When we are open to true change it is like the heavens open and we are given all the support that we need. I love what both the rheumatologist and physiotherapists offered you, each was gold and the keys that supported you in making the changes in your life, and allowed you to surrender to the Esoteric Connective Tissue healing therapy that offered you the space to feel who you are without the debilitating pain you were experiencing.

  10. Every human being does not deserve judgement and to treat themselves with abuse of any kind. We are far too precious and when we awaken ourselves to the preciousness that lies within it is then a commitment to live in the absolute love and appreciation for ourselves day in, day out.

  11. I find that doing a little Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy after a massage to be awesomely effective in releasing energy held in the body.

  12. It’s truly an amazing story and highlights the way humanity worked as a team to help you understand your condition and to begin making the necessary changes to care for yourself more deeply. We have so much power when we come together to support one another.

  13. Fully co-operating with medicine and looking at the causes of our diseases and dealing with our causes is a very powerful combination.

  14. What I got from this was how having the fibromyalgia gave you the opportunity to heal many other aspects of your life that maybe wouldn’t get a look in until very much later in life. Especially, as when we have young children we tend to put ourselves on the back burner.

  15. How beautiful that this story is the truth and not some ‘happy ever after’ fairy tale. It offers inspiration for us all to take responsibility for the way we are living.

  16. “There was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction” – there’s something intriguing about this statement. Like, nothing needs to be broken for it to be having a hard time and/or behave as if it’s out of order. When I feel into this, I feel like I am left with two options – to blame, or to accept my part of responsibility, and it is actually about my relationship with myself.

  17. This is amazing like really amazing. Your experience could help so many others who may have a similar thing and feel there is nothing they can do or no way ‘out’. It also goes to show how important it is to have professionals that truly care as the very sweet people you had at the hospital in just a few words helped you see differently, as well as the Esoteric Healing Modalities which as I have said before many times are a true blessing to humanity.

    1. Yes, if the experience in this blog is repeatable or applicable to others, then this could make a big difference to population health without any increase in the cost of providing healthcare.

      1. So true Christoph. Using these modalities and the healing and wisdom we get from them offers humanity a new way to deal with illness and disease. One day they will be more widely known and accepted – to be used alongside western medicine, for both are needed.

  18. How you described the Esoteric Connective Tissue modality was gorgeous. Just like all of the Universal Medicine modalities they support us to identify with our essence rather than the pain.

  19. A great reminder of the importance of truly caring for and nurturing ourselves, it is when we do not do this our body gets overwhelmed and we become exhausted, simple changes to our life style choices give us lots of benefits.

    1. I agree with Sally when we let go of the protection and start to nurture ourselves then we can feel the exhaustion leaving our bodies as we become incredibly tired. If we can stay with the feelings of tiredness and let it pass that’s when we can feel more of our true self unhindered by the protection we went into. This then gives us the possibility to make different choices as there is more freedom in our bodies.

  20. It is quite the thing, re-learning how to love yourself. But the transformations that occur throughout life by way of this process makes each and every step – as difficult and uncomfortable as they may be – hugely confirming of the path that is being walked as being the path that leads back to something truly magnificent – our deep, true love.

  21. Western Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, what a healing team they have been for you. The fact that you were open to accepting the support offered by both these different ways of healing shows that if you had been closed down to one, the healing outcome you experienced may have not been the total package that it has been.

  22. I would love to see and hear you express your story on film, SD. This would be so inspirational for so many other people with similar symptoms. This is magic and very powerful scientific evidence. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Yes, I agree with you Monika. These kind of testimonies need to be available for everyone, as what they share is what many people are looking for.

  23. “I would move with gentle movements that honoured how I was feeling, never pushing myself but equally always challenging myself to take just one more step, building up the number of steps I could take each day.” Being aware of how we are moving can be really profound and make such a difference to how we feel and I love how you describe not forcing your body to do something it wasn’t ready for yet at the same time still experimenting with if you could do more.

  24. To identify yourself by your essence rather than the chronic pain must have been quite a challenge and yet the way you have illustrated here how you spoke in a kinder way to yourself through addressing the learned behaviour is inspiring.

  25. This is huge “The physiotherapist explained to me that when we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion and eventually fibromyalgia – my life in a nut-shell.” When you consider there is a very large addiction to stimulants such as caffeine and sugar, the impact on sleep would be enormous and it would not be surprising to consider the worrying rise in chronic pain statistics.

  26. This is quite a remarkable turn around, from being in intense pain to healing it completely, simply through taking stock and being really honest about how you’d always lived your life. There is no substitute for properly taking care of ourselves on all levels, all of the time.

  27. I am continually amazed at how harshly we can speak to ourselves. And the truth is, if we spoke to someone else like that they wouldn’t hang around us for long. I am slowly learning to speak to myself in a much more loving way but at times I can hear a tone in my voice that is actually not loving in the least. This makes it so clear to me that it’s not just about the words we use but the energy we use them in. They are either harming or healing and that’s our choice.

    1. Beautiful Ingrid! I often check with myself: ‘would my soul talk to me like this?’ And if the answer is NO, I know those thoughts come from a source that is not loving or supporting me to come back to my divine essence

  28. It is incredibly supportive to be assisted to re-connect with the essence of who we are, with a real and tangible sense of this in our body, and it’s beautiful how you describe the Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy sessions helping with this. And inspiring how you brought all the support you received from both conventional and esoteric medicine together and applied it to your daily way of living.

  29. “He said it was a chronic condition, that I would spend the rest of my life in pain, and then he prescribed me some anti-depressants and referred me to a physiotherapist and a consultant who specialises in chronic pain.” I must say this sounds quite disempowering to get the message that you will be in pain your whole life and get anti-depressants as medication. But I guess that is what happens with many people, your story is inspirational because I hear often how chronic pain is indeed for life. You show how indeed we can turn things around by our own choices to come out of it.

  30. Fibromyalgia is becoming more and more commonplace. Thank you for sharing your personal experience and insights making, for you, this debilitating disease a thing of the past and showing what could support others who are suffering in the same way. Combining the Western medical model with Esoteric Connective Tissue was obviously a huge part of your healing. I have had Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy sessions myself and can vouch for their efficacy and when we follow through with what they are showing us much health-full change comes about. As we take more responsibility for our state of health we feel more appreciative of ourselves and our bodies and begin to enjoy living once again.

  31. When we look back and get honest, we can see clearly see how our choices since young build up over time, and can easily lead to the illnesses and diseases that show up in our bodies. Nothing accidental about the conditions we end up with: we create them through how we live, which is empowering, because it means that we have the ability to clear the energy that led to the conditions in the first place.

    1. Bryony, what you say makes sense that we are the creators of our life and actually have no one to blame but ourselves if indeed blame is necessary. Let’s say we have been conditioned over many lifetimes it is the constant conditioning that builds up energetically in our bodies that eventually has to be cleared. Illness and disease is the end result of the energetic build up. If we could truly understand the science of reincarnation then we would take a completely different approach to our health and well being.

  32. Rhythm in our life is essential. It is there reflected with every breath and with every course in our breath, it is the natural and energetically true way to live.

  33. A beautiful understanding that the way we live affects our physical health and that conventional medicine and esoteric medicine can complement each other when we take responsibility for our part in the healing.

  34. Perhaps there is more scope elsewhere in the medical world for Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy to be explored with its far reaching affects and benefits as the general human condition seems to be becoming more and more complex.

  35. I cannot say enough good things about Connective Tissue Therapy, it’s like getting a full body tune up each time we have a session.

  36. What a great realisation you came to here about illness and disease that they do not just happen out of the blue or randomly but that they are often the result of a build up or momentum of things that eventually come to a head – this can sometimes be for years. It can sometimes appear like things just happen suddenly but when we honestly reflect we can trace back the origin of our condition by seeing the lifestyle choices that built up over time.

  37. Your commitment to healing is a total inspiration. Seeking support, integrating into life the wisdom that you feel to be true. In that, you place yourself in charge of the whole process, and maximize the supports you receive and not use them as a clutch. Very powerful.

  38. The healing that Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy has bought to my life is simply miraculous. From working with practitioners and committing to daily exercises over the last few years the Sciatica that I had regularly suffered from for more than 40 years is now a pain of the past. I know that, pain or no pain, I will continue my commitment to the incredibly valuable exercises, which is simply a commitment to the health of my body, for the rest of my life.

    1. Ingrid Ward, I too suffered from Sciatica for years, no practitioner that I went to see could alleviate the pain. Discovering Universal Medicine and all the different modalities on offer has been so beneficial to my body and like you the Sciatica that I experienced for years is a pain of the past.

  39. Wow, I know I have read your blog before but how incredible is your healing, how you now are in your life come from the amazing choices you have made for and with your body and how well the combination of esoteric and conventional medicine has works and work. Such an inspiration for all who have fibromyalgia or another debilitating condition to go for their own grow whatever is been told is possible or not possible.

  40. If fibromyalgia is “a condition of the nervous system, which was registering pain where there was no cause for pain.” it is showing us that we are creating something out of nothing. Everything comes back to the body and pain is a cry for help even when in truth there is no cause for that pain. Your article shows with the support of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and the Medical system, when we are willing and able to surrender, illnesses like fibromyalgia do not have to be long term conditions.

  41. ‘if words spoken in my mind made me feel bad about myself, then they were simply not from me or the love that I am,’ When we accept that we are first and foremost love and everything comes back to that then we have a chance to heal what is not love. We can choose to be aligned to love and nothing else. It may take a while but every time we turn a negative or reductionist thought into a loving one we are readdressing the balance.

  42. Having just come back from a visit with a consultant I have to express my heartfelt appreciation of the care, time and advice that I was given. I felt reassured and confident that my condition can be supported easily. We can sometimes take for granted the dedication and hard work of doctors and other health care professionals… I know I have, but I have come away feeling deeply touched by the health-care I have received and a newfound level of appreciation not felt before.

    1. When we care for ourselves other people can feel it and can respond in kind I’ve found. Connecting to other people is part of healing.

  43. According to websites, fibromyalgia is a permanent condition whose symptoms become better through aggressive multidisciplinary treatments. What you have done here sounds much more practical.

  44. This combination of both conventional and esoteric approaches to self-care and healing is very powerful. The esoteric is a truly proactive way of caring for ourselves – and a life of true self-care is deeply healing. Being responsible for our own wellbeing is surely good news for our ailing health services – and actually just feels great too.

  45. ” These sessions ( connective tissue ) happened each week and slowly, slowly with time, I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself that I experienced during the sessions. And eventually, the pain stopped. ”
Wow this is a huge healing and a clear understanding of what true healing is thank you for sharing.

  46. ‘I worked on my self-talk, as I came to realise that this precious child I was developing a relationship with inside did not deserve to be spoken to with harsh words’ Thus is huge. We do so much damage by belittling ourselves in one way or another. The expectations we load on ourselves often far outweigh those we put on others and we are quite often our worst enemy. Realising that we are indeed precious and deserve tender, nurturing and loving treatment is the first step towards actually being that beholding presence for ourselves. Coming back to this awareness throughout the day we can gradually build a more intimate and sweet relationship with our inner self, one that builds presence and self confidence and allows us to move with great respect for all.

  47. ‘In addition, I worked on my self-talk, as I came to realise that this precious child I was developing a relationship with inside did not deserve to be spoken to with harsh words.’ Next to all you have shared with us about how you healed fibromyalgia this is huge, how many of us talk to ourselves with harsh words, having a judgement about all we do or not do. It is about building the love from the inside out, changing the way we move will change our internal dialogue into a loving one, that is for sure.

  48. Our bodies are so amazing! They are constantly loving us, even if we don’t see it as that… kind of like when we are children and we think our parents are so mean by not allowing us to do something. The body gives us opportunities constantly to stop, feel and take stock of our choices and how they are affecting us.

  49. If fibromyalgia is the body registering pain where there is no physical cause for pain, what is this telling us? It is telling that the body is registering a pain that is energetic and self-created. It is also telling us that the key beyond treatment is our state of being-ness.

  50. Fibromyalgia is a condition of responsibility, because to live the love that you are is naturally very responsible and to hold this back causes much tension and stress for the body to cope with, so to overcome such an illness is to let love in from others and to let your own love out.

  51. Thank you SD, it’s always a very supportive read for me. What’s amazing is not only did you heal Fibromyalgia, but you now are a healing presence for those you come into contact with. And, once the physical condition was healed you haven’t stopped the healing process because it was simply a symptom of your relationship to yourself and life, which though now is more loving, there is always more love to live.

  52. How blessed you were to have a doctor who explained things so clearly and a physio that reminded you of how important balance is to our daily lives – we can never discount how vital conventional medicine is to support our physical bodies in its healing process.

  53. “And yet, here I am today and I no longer have those symptoms, which so tore my life apart.” And what an inspiration you are Shami. It really is remarkable to witness the depth of change in you and beautiful to see you offering your uniqueness and delicacy to us all with what you are doing.

  54. “This warmth, I came to understand, was the real me – the truth of who I am. Not because the practitioner told me so, but because I could feel it.” Knowing who we truly are – in our essence – enables us to take the healing path. Commitment, connection and responsibility – with no attachment to outcome – thankyou for sharing SD – a beautiful post.

  55. Sometimes it is as if we receive what could almost be called a curse in our lives… You will be in pain for the rest of your life… A classic example… I was told at the age of 30 that my spine was so bad that I would never ever work again… And yet here we are… There is so much more to our lives then what meets the eye and the mind

    1. There are probably one of two responses to being told this… either to accept that ‘fate’ and give-up, or to find another way which likely involves some Soul-searching and lifestyle changes… the latter being perhaps the road less travelled but the journey well worth the while.

  56. There is an important part in this piece about delicacy and power, diligence and toil, and how these qualities came out after re-connecting with the essence inside. Whereas life before, in a disconnected state, led itself to exhaustion and eventually a chronic condition.

    1. Shami you have made a very important point here, that life lived from our essence is vital, powerful, and promotes our health and wellbeing, whilst disconnection to our essence definitely can lead to unhealthy states like exhaustion. The world and our health care systems would be a different place if we were all living connected to our true selves.

  57. This is a very awesome sharing, many need to hear it as those suffering from this could be greatly inspired to hear how you have turned this around and the healing that you went through to do this.

  58. Even the title of this blog is intriguing and far from the norm. Who heals fibromyalgia? Are we not usually left to best manage this condition? What a powerful experience to undo the living from nervous energy and start to feel yourself as whole and complete. This would make a great medical case study.

  59. I can really feel how the understanding that a pain in the body is not damaging the body is hugely liberating. That the pain is of energy rather than physicality calls for a deepening or awareness, a willingness to take responsibility and to turn our gaze inwards to heal. Shami your experience and the way you responded is deeply inspiring.

  60. This is a very valuable testimonial SD. Your experience leads the way for a new approach of this illness. As you say, this process has taken its time to unfold, which has been based on your commitment to assume and make your part in it. It’s clear that your honesty and consistency have been essential in your transformation.

  61. ‘when we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion and eventually fibromyalgia’ It makes sense that our Nervous System would have to take over if we do not have good quality sleep. This reminds me how important it is to use those hours before bed as much as possible to nurture the body and really care for it deeply.

    1. We are so disregarding of sleep now, emails, social media and entertainment are at our fingertips even in the bedroom, and staying up late is considered the ‘in thing’. There are so many reasons why we don’t choose to take care of our sleeping pattern, or simply cannot sleep well, all of which has a short and long term impact on our health and wellbeing. We may find in the future many chronic illnesses and diseases are related to poor quality sleep.

  62. An extraordinary testament to healing the apparently un-healable through commiting to life but doing so in a quality that honours you at all times. An amazing story. I love how we can lead the body away from true movement but only to a point before it guides us through the way back.

  63. Unbelievable, totally inspiring, totally awesome. I can not imagine how valuable this article will be to others that have suffered this condition. Wow, you have definitely been on a journey. I am left feeling humbled and it puts everything in perspective, I need not wait until my body screams at me for my lack of self love but instead be proactive in having regular sessions in order to know myself in my essence and by knowing this in my cells, I am less likely to absorb everything else around me and become lost in my own life. Thank you, a truly supportive story to share.

  64. A great example of how we damage our health by the choices we make and the way that we live, and equally how when we make more loving choices so too is it reflected in the body, beautiful to be supported by esoteric practitioners and being able to bring yourself back to health.

  65. ‘But the thing that she most wanted me to understand, is that there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction. She said that I could move through the pain and it would not cause further harm, and in fact she encouraged me to move as much as possible – to reintroduce true movement back in to by body again.’ This is awesome. There are many people who have fibromyalgia who give in to it and end up in electric wheelchairs. You had a great consultant here and what’s more you listened to what she had to say and responded by bringing a different level of care and love to yourself. Having Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and staying committed to your healing has shown how we don’t have to let this debilitating dis-ease take over

  66. This really does show how much control we do have over our own lives and the choices we make. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy needs to be out there big time and available to all that need it, as how many people are out there suffering needlessly who have never heard of ECTT.

  67. It is amazing how many diseases which are called chronic and for the rest of your life can actually be be healed in the way you did. By being willing to see there might be a way to heal and not giving up.

  68. An incredible story. Thank you SD – I feel as though I’ve been given a warning about the consequences of my choices. We don’t have to wait for disease to show itself, we can feel it building long before it takes hold. Your words inspire me to make the choices I need to make sooner rather than later.

  69. Thank you SD, it’s an extraordinary story, and as a person who has also suffered from Fibromyalgia I can appreciate fully what you have recovered from. Quality of sleep is so vital to the body, my doctor has described to me how poor quality of sleep can mean poor regeneration of the muscles (and body in general) so upon waking, it’s literally the same body it was the night before. Each night we are supposed to heal, repair, and restore any damage or wear on the body and so if this doesn’t happen each day we can wake with an ever increasingly painful body. There is more than just sleep involved but I wanted to highlight this point as it can be a big factor in fibromyalgia and I’m sure other disease and illness. Thank you.

  70. there is only really one way to deal with any sort of chronic illness or pain without becoming disempowered… And that is to know oneself, as you say… to know one’s body, to understand the interconnectedness of all things, and to know that life is always a hologram… And the presentations of Universal Medicine are at the forefront of empowerment of the individual in this way.

  71. It’s interesting that you were told that there was no damage to your body but that it was in reaction. It seems as though the connective tissue treatments allowed your body to build on a wholeness that lay underneath the pain that was coming from the reactions. It is a great reminder that reactions in any form are what really cause the pain.

  72. To understand that the pain of fibromyalgia, although very real, is not caused by any damage but a reaction to the way we have lived is immensely liberating and helped pave the way to your recovery from this otherwise debilitating condition. And I love your description of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy – a baby being held for no other reason than the fact that it is there to be held and cherished.

  73. Out of all that you have shared here SD, the line that stood out was “It was my responsibility to heal.” this is so key. No matter what the illness or disease in fact. That it is indeed our responsibility to heal.

  74. It is a blessing for humanity that the complementary Universal Medicine modalities have been made available to us once again as these do, next to the Western medicine help us to come back to who we naturally are and that is love, which not lived is causing all the illness and diseases we encounter in human life.

  75. Isn’t our body the most amazing marker for how we have been living, or are still living, our life? It is so wise and so patient but unfortunately it is so often ignored and then we suffer the consequences and wonder why.. And also, isn’t it wonderful how when we are truly ready to listen and to heal that the support we need is there waiting in many forms as you have shared. Very inspirational indeed!

  76. There is absolute joy in finding that less is more in a treatment, how I have found in an esoteric healing or connective tissue session how just the touch on the body releases tension and unwinds emotional stress. The world needs more of this type of treatment, the benefit of a light but deeply affecting touch will I reckon in time change the world.

    1. Indeed Stephen, it feels actually so simple but is always an enormous healing as Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy returns you to your original state in which your body is in homeostasis again and is functioning in harmony, not only within itself but also with everything outside of it.

  77. Healing your fibromyalgia by understanding its root cause is outstanding. A brilliant blog for all to read who have this condition. Awesome sharing!

  78. This blog shows that any one can re-commit to life, even after the most harsh and debilitating ordeal, we all have the strength and the love to return to our essence.

    1. Absolutely Shami, with a willingness and openness to understand why we experience what we do, or why our body is in a particular state, is empowering and healing in itself.

  79. As much as we may need at times a medicine that is capable of fixing, curing and or alleviating our conditions we are definitely in need of a medicine that is truly contributing to the healing of the root cause of our ailments; ECTT is one of those modalities.

  80. This is a profound blog for me.
The two areas below that l am particularly moved by highlight turning points or defining moments in how your life experiences directed you to find the missing link to your life. It was finding and acknowledging your essence. This was a turning point for you. This is what allowed you to fully embrace your life again. It was because you fully embraced your essence.
“I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself “. You not only embraced yourself but you deepened to honour you and feel your preciousness. A divine undertaking. Which enabled you to finally admit and allow yourself to be…

“inspired by the sweet person that I was discovering I am; I would move with gentle movements that honoured how I was feeling, never pushing myself but equally always challenging myself to take just one more step, building up the number of steps I could take each day.” We are all miracles and capable of these miracles daily. Thank you for sharing your deeply inspiring life story SD.

  81. ECTT Is an absolute blessing for humanity… So gentle so non-imposing, and amazing reflection of the delicacy of the wonderful vibration that we are… And of course so powerful as the writer explains.

  82. This is a great sharing SD. I know someone that has just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and this is very supportive to know it is possible to heal this condition. We play an integral part in our own healing, as you clearly are evidence of. Thank you.

  83. How very healing to have a clear picture of what Fibromyalgia is and being honest enough to admit the way you have lived has literally brought this to your body. A lesson we might all learn from and consider how do we live?

    1. So true Judy, and it goes without saying that the energy we choose to live in brings these ailments into our bodies.

  84. As a practitioner of Esoteric Connective Therapy I am amazed every day on how it works with such ease and tenderness in supporting the body and client to restore their health and so are many clients who appreciate the unimposing, gentle techniques that make them wonder how it is even possible to correct imbalances without any gross mechanical interventions.

  85. “This warmth, I came to understand, was the real me – the truth of who I am. Not because the practitioner told me so, but because I could feel it.” How beautiful that you have come to this conclusion on your own, it is through taking this responsibility, to own and feel who you are, that is sounds like this is the reason for your deep healing, very inspiring.

  86. Revelation in itself this is. From what I know fibromyalgia is an irreversible diagnosis from what I’ve heard from the conventional medicine’s point of view. So this is quite something to share for many reasons, one being the consideration of how much it has to cost in the management of the condition.

  87. We know the body has cunning ways to get our attention. I get an almost instant headache if I eat something that is too sweet and I will not describe what it does when dairy sneaks in. Could it be that Fibomyalgia is the notice that we are given, for not using one of our most amazing senses of our body, the ability to feel everything?

    1. Fibromyalgia is a stop point along the way of a very long walked path of not listening to and persistently overriding messages from the body and all that it can feel.

  88. If, when the body goes a bit off the rails like with fibromyalgia, what else can our bodies feel at the other end of this feeling scale? What about walking in a room that is full of tension without a word being spoken or the joy and connection of looking in the eyes of a child and just holding another in love. Our bodies are capable of so much more if we just choose to listen to what they are telling us!

  89. This is such a lovely example of how we can make choices that complement our medical treatment for a truly amazing outcome. We are not one dimensional creatures, so our Medicine needs to encompass the many dimensions that we are to have true healing.

  90. Self-Responsibility and self-care is the only way to heal a chronic condition such as fibromyalgia in my opinion as a health care professional of 20 years experience, however everyone also needs support in order to make the changes in lifestyle and behaviours that are required to heal, and this is where regular bodywork and counsel are so important to break down old behaviour patterns that may be contributing to the condition.

  91. It’s very interesting to read this on a morning when I am experiencing body aches and pains after an Esoteric Chakra-puncture session – a close cousin of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy. The feedback from the medical professionals described in this blog feels particularly pertinent – I know what I am feeling, while real enough in one sense, is at the same time not. I can stay connected with myself and literally and gently move through what I am experiencing. Even with non-transitory conditions that connection with the self before all else would go a long way to supporting one to de-identify with one’s illness or disease – or at least seeing the condition as a release of an aspect of who we are not, rather than who we are.

  92. ‘…there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction.’ What a great understanding. It strikes me we could say this about all illnesses and conditions: they are simply evidence of a body and a being in reaction to aspects of life, or even to life itself. And underneath that, a lack of acceptance of life perhaps.

  93. Powerful exposé of that the body doesn´t lie and never holds a grudge, it equally presents the consequences of our unloving and disharmonious choices as it responds and displays the results of our loving, healing ones; basically you reap what you sow and that choice is only for us to make.

    1. And a powerful comment Alex. Our body never deviates from the truth and is the one thing that remains constant. It will continually love us by showing us what is true and therefore healing and what is not.

  94. What is so very powerfully demonstrated in this article is that SD never gave up or in to the pain she was experiencing. She demonstrates a commitment to life that many have not been willing to surrender too or to even explore. What we are each capable of will remain unexplored until the choice to commit to life is made.

  95. SD this is an amazing and very inspiring story of recovery from a condition most struggle to heal for many years, if not decades. The distinction you make between what you discover is the ‘real you’, the warmth and sense of yourself you gain, versus the pain you were feeling with the condition, is something very key it seems. Being ourselves in life takes on a whole different meaning when it is expressed the way you have, and would appear to be very powerful medicine in that sense.

  96. It’s fascinating to read that you had it explained to you that your muscles were in reaction but that you could push through the pain and not cause damage. It’s really fascinating to consider how the body has approached the situation.

  97. What a remarkable union of Conventional and Universal Medicine Shami, along with your own willingness to take responsibility for your choices and how you ended up in the situation you did, that enabled you to make such a profound and true recovery. This is a union that needs to be researched by conventional medicine as there is no doubt of its efficacy.

  98. Three factors/parties working together exemplary – conventional medicine, complementary medicine and the patient taking responsibility and giving their all to contribute to a true healing process – the future of holistic medicine.

  99. Medicine is great but if it is practised just from the mind it does not meet the body as a whole.

  100. This combination of esoteric complementary medicine works so well wth conventional medicine to bring the deep healing available for us all. It is nothing short of a miracle when conventional medicine will say outright that so many conditions like these are life long and have no permanent solution or cure.

  101. It is interesting that you use the word ‘healing’ rather than ‘curing’ – would you say that ‘healing’ here means also dealing with the causes of the illness?

  102. The fact is that esoteric healing on its own could never solve all the world problems. But then again, neither does it claim to. Similarly, western medicine certainly does not have all the answers, although unfortunately it claims to be the only one that does, and if it does not, then it claims that an answer does not yet exist. This is unfortunate, for as I was saying to a friend yesterday, there are many examples of where discoveries in western medicine come about by first studying remedies and qualitative evidence found in alternative medicine.

  103. The support you had, both from medical practitioners and through Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, feels amazing and your recovery from such a severe and debilitating condition as fibromyalgia is miraculous – and very real and tangible at the same time, as you take us through the insights you had and the steps you took.

  104. “It was like coming back to the security of my mother’s arms after the ordeal of being born and feeling her unconditional love for no other reason than the fact that it was me she was holding.” This is such a good description of how amazing Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy can make you feel.

  105. This changes the definition of ‘chronic’ and is a really inspiring way to address long term pain – not to give up and settle for depression, but instead look at and deepen every aspect of love in life. Amazing.

    1. That is true. Getting away from chronic pain seems to be a major achievement.

  106. I love the fact when faced with your condition you did not hide and give up, you instead moved forward listening to your body’s messages. When we get diagnosed with any kind of condition and illness it is a opportunity for us to learn like. Illness does not have to be the enemy; illness when embraced can bring deep evolution.

  107. It is so beautiful how the body knows how to restore itself to harmony and balance when we connect to our ill choices in our way of living. Western medicine along with complementary modalities such as Connective Tissue can beautifully support the healing process of ourselves as whole beings.

  108. Thank you SD for this open sharing. It is amazing how connecting to who we truly are has the power to truly heal us from what ever is causing us harm. Be it Fibromyalgia, bad eating habits or depression it can all be healed with the true medical support, the true energetic support to connect to ourselves and ultimately our own commitment to reconnecting to ourselves, our essence.

  109. The fact that our nervous system is capable of registering a pain for which there is no physical cause is puzzling and opens the Pandora box. What if we are capable of feeling also what is happening in our non-physical bodies? I do remember when I started reconnecting with God, the excruciating pain I felt inside me when I stated (as usually did) to be atheist. It was not physical. It was very deep and very real.

    1. This is beautiful Eduardo, and it’s true that physical pain often seems to take centre stage, but what if it is actually just a physical manifestation of a much deeper energetic pain or suffering that is taking place…?

      1. This is such a great question Eduardo and Shami. If we consider that there is so much more to us and to the world than what we can physically see and feel, then it is absolutely possible that pain can be felt in another dimension. From my own experience, I know I have felt something of this nature that has been seemingly illogical and unexplainable, but it has been very real to me.

    2. Stunning Eduardo. I do know exactly what you mean. I know that if I ever judge anyone for a behaviour that is vile or sneaky I just feel so uncomfortable in my body, as if the whole world has gone awry, and has lost its light. This is so painful! It is an even worse pain than physical pain.

  110. Healing of any illness happens on many different levels, our resourcefulness is using all the ways available to get the deepest healing we can give ourselves from any illness we have. What you are describing here is our ability to access the many levels of healing, for some, it may stay purely on a physical level. For others, it can be the esoteric healing can bring in the next level of responsibility we can learn to gain deeper understanding of what the body is offering to us.

  111. I love how this, and our health, comes back to the simplicity of having a balance in all the areas of our life. The balance here refers to the quality that is brought to everything, for we can be ‘doing’ it all well, but if there is no quality this is when the body becomes drained and exhausted.

  112. this is an awesome example of the power of self-responsibility in our healing and of the immense support of the combination of western medicine and Universal Medicine together.

  113. Your sharing is deeply inspiring Shami. With a willingness to look deeper into what was causing your illness and a willingness to make different choices you show that true healing is possible.

  114. I find it amazing with how much debilitation many of us live on a day-to-day basis and in many cases such people may be around us without noticing. This seems especially true for women as there are many causes of pain that don’t exist for men.

  115. You are a living miracle Shami, so often people resign themselves to living with this condition for the rest of their lives. Your decision to employ the support of both the medical profession and the esoteric practitioners coupled with taking charge of the quality of your self care and self worth prove that there is a way to truly restore health, when we take the lead from the inside out.

  116. The nervous system is so delicate and sensitive . We don’t often appreciate this enough. We do not realise how much it is affected by the tiniest of things so by living in the present time it is literally bombarded all our waking hours unless we choose to relieve it of this ourselves. I have noticed how my nervousness is sparked by the way I live so it is entirely up to me as to how much this energy plays out in my body. Just by becoming more aware and clocking how I change when eating or drinking certain things or moving in a certain way supports me in a continual healing of the nervousness I once lived in.

  117. Wow what an amazing unfolding, this is a deeply healing blog for anyone who reads it, I don’t have Fibromyalgia, but I recognise how I can over do it and push myself, this blog is a great reminder to me for:
A: talking more lovingly to myself and
B: being more physically gentle with myself, too often I can push through the day and this is a great reminder to stop and listen.
    Thank you SD.

  118. Nervous system over stimulation is a major health issue for many of us, I see at work, many people have this issue of varying intensity, being aware of how we go into stress and how we actually service, get on with life with lots of stress is something of many of us to look at it, has a major impact on us and many of us are living with some level of stress / anxiety.

  119. This is such a remarkable example of how, when we truly decide to take responsibility for our health in all ways, physically, emotionally, mentally and energetically, we can resolve the root causes behind our dilemmas. This requires a huge amount of honesty coupled with the choice to treat our selves with the utmost holistic tenderness, so that the body can regroup the delicate harmony of our internal systems that when honoured, provide us with a robust health.

    1. Yes, Rowena, there are so many levels on which we can take responsibility and Shami’s is a very high level of responsibility.

  120. What a gift to us all your blog is. To share the power you brought to your life, your ability to bring a level of responsibility, reflection and then action to what had happened in your life and how you could put in place choices that would re-imprint the way you did anything and everything. This gives us all a key to our own healing from chronic pain so it doesn’t define us. A combined approach which includes our own choices and behaviours firmly and squarely in the middle.

  121. What is most clear here is that you took this into your own hands and did what was needed to heal. No playing a victim or poor me and laying your situation at the feet of the medical establishment to fix but by marrying up conventional medicine with the esoteric, listening to what the doctors had to say and what your body was telling you, you were able to take care of it. This is true medicine and super inspiring to read.

  122. It is very inspiring reading about not only the excellent practitioners that you saw and supported you along the way, but also your own absolute commitment to listen to the messages and the insights offered to you as a result of your condition and to deepen your connection to and understanding of your true expression. What a truly potent and loving mixture.

  123. I love your new commitment to life, and how ‘this delicate and precious being that I am naturally has the power, the vitality, and the strength to diligently work and toil each and every day without getting exhausted, emotional, or drained. In fact I have the ability to bring all the love that I feel for myself to all the places and the people that I meet.’ This is an amazing turn around, miraculous.

  124. Beautifully inspiring. Especially the claiming of your healing process as something that is your own responsibility, instead of descending into depression and victimhood. We are our own best healing practitioner. With this approach, the help we receive is there to supplement the steps we are already taking within instead of giving our power away to others.

  125. It is really great that the physiotherapist took the time to explain things, and yes if we let our nervous system run our body it can lead to lots of problems further down the line, ‘when we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion and eventually fibromyalgia – my life in a nut-shell.’

  126. ‘we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion’ – Great point to consider SD , with the emphasis on the word ‘quality’ not quantity.

  127. The combination of Esoteric medicine, Conventional medicine and us being responsible for our health and choices can make miraculous changes to our health as you have shown here.

  128. Connective tissue treatments and exercises work on such a deep level through the body. The harmony of the body and its movement is restored and therefore the harmony and willingness to connect with others is also being restored. As it is within, so it is also reflected on the outside.

  129. This sounds like a really awful condition to live with, and no doubt made worse when a diagnosis takes a while, let alone treatment. Often we can go into panic about an illness when we do not know the facts, so I am sure it was a relief to find out that you were not actually causing permanent damage to your nerves.
This is another great example of how changing your lifestyle and taking responsibility for your health and well being can result improvements to a debilitating health issue.

  130. We have so much healing available now with conventional medicine and complementary medicine. Let alone the daily medicine of living life from our innermost and listening and caring for our bodies.

  131. Having a good understanding of what physically is going on in our body can be so helpful – I found it really interesting how you were re-assured that even though it was painful that there wasn’t damage to the muscle and that it was coming from the nervous system, relating to being stressed. And inspiring how you decided to be more aware of the way you were living and the big impact this has on our health, without any judgement, just a willingness to develop how you live.

  132. It is amazing how many ailments are turned around using Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and conventional medicine. I have found a complete turn around with my hips and associated pains down my legs by applying a combination of approaches as described above.

  133. Amazing article. I’ve been living with fibromyalgia for 8 years or so [well, diagnosed 8 years ago]. My medications aren’t helping. A dear friend recommended something called Plexus. After 2 years of her getting after me I’m trying it.
I started going to a new doctor and the nurse had the audacity to tell me that most doctors don’t believe in fibromyalgia! I wanted to break down right there. Thankfully, she doesn’t help me anymore! The nerve of some people.

    1. While Doctors offer an amazing and much needed service and we need western medicine, it is also really important to listen to our own bodies, for we know when something is true or not. A doctors training, and their own beliefs will often limit what they are open to feeling and accepting, and this is where we must take responsibility for our own healing. I had a diagnosis of Crohn’s disease 17years ago, and as of now I no longer suffer any symptoms and haven’t done for years. Part of this is down to me taking responsibility for what my healthcare was going to look like.

  134. The responsibility with which you were open to reflect on the insights offered by the various professionals, and at each point considered their significance for you with a view to deepening your own responsibility and care, is a deeply loving and empowered approach to life which Universal Medicine has inspired me and many others with.

  135. That is an incredible story of what miracles can happen when we take responsibility of our choice and bring about true care for ourselves.

  136. There is an underlying story in this blog, about a person who had given up on life, become withdrawn and seemingly unable to cope, and as such their body began to show signs of dis-ease. In response to this, they sought solutions – like a new pair of shoes, or sugar – but never really took the time to address what was going on deep within to cause so much unsettlement and dis-harmony in their life. The event of being diagnosed with a chronic condition therefore was a result of the initial choice to bury hurts and lost emotions, a burying that the body eventually could not handle or pretend that everything was fine. So the true art of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is in the way that it assists the body to let go of hurts and to confirm the being inside, paving the way for a new way of life that actually feels very ancient and essential to that of being human.

    1. Well said Shami!! The ability to get below what we think defines us, our hurts, our beliefs and our expectations and re-discover the absolute simplicity and divinity of who we truly are is afforded to us by the Esoteric Connective Tissue. It is a very physical modality that is so incredibly gentle that there is absolutely no imposition – simply an allowing – a holding the space to feel what is below the tension in our bodies.

    2. Beautiully expressed Shami and a wonderful testament to the true and absolute healing power of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy.

  137. How Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy supported you to reconnect with your body, it also had the ripple effect of reconnecting you back with humanity… What a true healing this modality has brought to you!

  138. A very informative blog SD, I have heard of fibromyalgia however not in any detail so thank you for sharing your experience, and as I read your blog I immediately felt the call for Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy as my own experiences have been a feeling of reconnection throughout my body.

  139. Having any ailment in the body is a sign that something is out of sync, so to be able to support ourselves in the process to heal such ailments is about taking responsibility for how we have got to this out of sync state is from the way we have been choosing to live. I know once I started to support myself with sessions like Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, my relationship with myself started to change. I became more aware not just with my body but the way I was living. To have a session and to truly feel what the body is presenting means you are in an honest place to support healing and making different choices.

  140. It’s amazing what the human body can heal when we support it from every angle. Not just with conventional medicine but in how we live in our bodies on a daily basis.

  141. Connective tissue is such a deeply supportive modality particularly for Fibromyalgia when the body is so sensitive to touch. The relationship of Fibromyalgia and the nervous system was really valuable to read.

  142. I love the way you were completely open to receiving the support offered to your from both Conventional Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy. And I especially appreciate how with each session you chose to deeply consider what was reflected for you and expand your understanding with a view of being more responsible in your healing. Very inspiring.

  143. The combination of support from Esoteric Medicine and Conventional Medicine and your responsibility in your own commitment to healing has resulted in such a transformation from being diagnosed as having to live with the pain for life to how life is now for you, energised, pain free and enjoying life. Fantastic.

  144. It is our responsibility to heal, as you say SD … and in the most beautiful way , as we surrender to truly caring, loving, and observing our body and the way we live.

  145. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy allows the body to deeply settle, allowing relaxation of the muscles and release of tension held in the body… This has been my experience – a deeply restorative treatment that brings a deep connection with myself.

  146. The learning we get through pain or symptoms of the body is a continuing journey of learning for us to develop and understand our responsibility for our own health. I have had experiences where I have got the message, the illness has appeared to resolve, only to return in a same guise or repeat injury where I realise there is a deeper learning to be had, so the body has sent another opportunity. I love your experiences combining Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and Conventional Medicine, they both complement each other to give us a deeper clearer understanding.

    1. Good point made Gill, about the symptoms presenting themselves again when there is a deeper clearer understanding being offered by the body. How many of us see our aches and pains as this and just resent the body for interrupting our lives or giving us a stop moment.

  147. A really extraordinary result of a harmonious combination of Western Medicine and Universal Medicine Modalities. Surely this is something to be celebrated and embraced by all Health Care Professionals considering the remarkable results given here.

  148. Instead of leaving 99% of healing to the responsibility of your pain specialist to make you better, you show that it is actually our own responsibility to meet them half way, actually, maybe it’s 99% of the way, because how we live our day, the relationship we have with ourselves as seen by the way we ‘self-talk’, ‘self-care’ and ‘self-love’ is indeed the medicine we need to take.

  149. Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy enables the body to remember and feel its natural way. Any tension, condition or illness that has built up, or even an injury through accident can all be reversed, let go of and healed by reminding the body how it can naturally be. It is an invitation to unravel and surrender, uncovering any issues that contributed along the way. It is the ultimate release.

  150. This is a first rate example of how we can have a positive impact on our own health and well-being. Taking responsibility for how we live and the choices we make which lead us onto having ill health in the first place – especially from a mothers point of view of putting everyone else first before herself.

  151. ‘I worked on my self-talk, as I came to realise that this precious child I was developing a relationship with inside did not deserve to be spoken to with harsh words…they were a learnt behaviour that did not belong to me or my body and therefore I gave them no time – sometimes I would actually tell them to go away – which helped enormously.’ SD I will remember these words next time I think harsh thoughts about myself and tell them to go away too. Developing that sense of self-worth is so key that there is no room left to be self-critical.

  152. The intricate nature of the connective tissue in our body, with its depth, flow and delicateness, speaks to us of our Universal qualities.

  153. Connective Tissue Therapy really is a wonderful treatment due to the tenderness with which it is applied, along with the depth and profoundity of which it works within the body. I have recently had some pain in one of my hip joints, and with just 3 treatments of this remarkable therapy and some gentle exercises in between, along with an understanding of why I had the pain in my hip in the first place and being able to let go of that, the pain has significantly reduced and the movement is now much freer.

  154. Hear hear Doug. We have been spending loads and loads on research to find new drugs and procedures to combat various symptoms and issues and yet the medical system is sinking fast under the rising rates of illness and disease. There is a host of anecdotal evidence from those who are clearly bucking the trend on this website alone and it begs the question whose interest is it in to keep ignoring such invaluable evidence?

  155. I have heard of this condition often with women in the later 40’s and 50’s. What has been interesting to read is not only the physical condition but to true understand of how we live and its implications on our body. A must read that I look forward to sharing with others.

  156. The responsibility for healing is something that is in the hands of every person on earth.

  157. After reading your article, its obvious that as many people as possible should have access to the wisdom and healing modalities of Universal Medicine.

  158. What an amazing transformation SD, and lovely to read how you did not give up but realized it was your responsibility to heal. Once we are willing and open we will come across the people who can support us to heal. This blog shows how beautifully conventional medicine and complementary therapies can work together and how there are many people giving great service in both areas.

  159. Doctors will say it is not possible to recover from fibromyalgia, they say it may wax and wane but the symptoms will generally remain. However, the combination of conventional Western medicine and the modalities from Universal Medicine bring a different message, and a definite way for us to heal ourselves now and in the future. Many people experience this path of recovery already as you describe, and we can bring this to many others too because we know from our bodies that it works.

  160. Connective Tissue Therapy is such a great modality. My experience of it is one of my whole body coming together as one and surrendering to a beautiful flow and letting go of tension. I can feel how if I don’t allow my body to do this then any tension I am holding onto will simply continue to be present and will build and build over time. Eventually this will have to lead to chronic pain or illness over time. Connective Tissue Therapy reminds my body how it can naturally be.

  161. To receive my very first Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy session was an experience that is very hard to put into words. I wasn’t sure what was happening but throughout my body I could feel a most gentle pulse that would stop at certain places and then move. It was like I was being gently rocked as when I was a child and I could feel my body responding in appreciation. This is one beautiful modality that has brought such incredible healing to my body of a very painful condition that I had experienced for at least 40 years, something that previously I never thought would be possible.

  162. I am struck by the analogy of fibromyalgia being a reaction to stress and an inflammation response. It makes me aware of how naturally the body is in balance and harmony and how loudly it can communicate when we live in a disharmonious way.

  163. It is quite miraculous that you did not experience pain during your esoteric healing sessions and yet I have had other friends with chronic pain experience the same thing. And as your doctor pointed out, it comes down to reaction. It seems that when we react to the pain, fight it or try to make it go away it only gets worse. When we accept and observe the tension in the connective tissue, it eases and the pain can be significantly reduced.

  164. I love your opening lines about seeking the perfect shoes for the aching legs and the sugar for the exhaustion. This reveals our currently very ingrained mentality and relationship with health; one of fixing and being just good enough to function. In these times of rapidly rising illness, we have down graded and lost the definition of health that has been known and accepted for thousands of years, which is the health and vitality of a life guided by soul. This allows for the body to be physically unwell yet the being can live a vital and joyful life.

  165. The absolute gift of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy for humanity can be seen and felt in our bodies and this is a beautiful testimonial and sharing which together with conventional medicine is a leading way forward for this and many other very debilitating diseases and allows us to feel who we really are and take the responsibility for living this.

  166. I love the way you accepted that the warmth you felt flooding the inside of you is the real you, and that the pain was outside of that and so did not really belong to you at all, CD. When we are able to set our adherence to and absorption in the pain aside and give it no more power over us, then into that space comes the awareness of our deepest essence of ourselves where change occurs and true healing happens.

  167. This is a wonderful testament about the miracles possible when Esoteric Medicine and Conventional Medicine are combined. But perhaps as significant if not more than the impact of these two is the power of our own choice to take an interest in our situation, be inquisitive and open, observe and respond, deepen our understanding and responsibility in our life.

  168. Connective tissue is an amazing modality that really supports the body in a way that I can highly recommend.

  169. The tiny movements of anything that we do eventually have an impact on our bodies in one way or another. The simple, sublte and gentle movements of Connective Tissue therapy are so incredibly powerful in the way that they can support the body to change by introducing a flow that had been previously interrupted by a movement that was out of rhythm with the bodies natural flow.

  170. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy (ECTT) is here for us all, it is a modality for the future as our human bodies change so much and our ailments turn ever more complicated with the medical industry struggling to hold itself up, ECTT is here to support and to bring forth not only what conventional modern medical practises can truly offer but also the light that is inside each and every person – so we can heal.

  171. It may be hard to understand in how much pain many women are as part of their every day life or as a regular occurrence. When I talked to focus groups of women about their health I was quite shocked at what I heard. Men in my experience have nothing like these levels of regular pain and if there is a way for women to have less pain the way described here, that may be a lot more important than many men may realise.

  172. “With these words I left the hospital deeply knowing that: I had a lot of work to be getting on with.” This is very inspiring SD as it can be so easy to visit a doctor and rely on them to solve our illnesses and disease without taking any responsibility ourselves for what is happening to our body.

  173. This article totally exudes responsibility. Much can change in our lives when we choose to be responsible for where we are, what we have lived, and most importantly, what we will live next.

  174. “here I am today and I no longer have those symptoms, which so tore my life apart. In fact I am more vital and strong than ever before”. It is clearly a super successful 3 way relationship: your choice and commitment, the skills and knowledge of Conventional Medicine Practices and the subtle and energetic understanding of the body that Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy offers.

  175. A friend told me this morning of the shock to be given a diagnosis of a chronic long term condition similar to fibromyalgia where she was given steroids from the doctor and had a severe reaction taking them. She returned to the doctor who basically shrugged her shoulders saying there was not much else she could do. I am printing off your example for her to see that there is a lot she can do to help herself and with the support of esoteric practitioners, she has plenty of things to choose if she wishes to.

  176. This is a great example of how Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, Conventional Medicine and a person taking the responsibility for her own health, can result in changing a debilitating condition around – very inspiring.

  177. Having had a very similar condition some years ago I can relate to the pain and depression I had to what you describe. I too have found esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy to have been part of my healing process too!

  178. What I particularly love about the stories of people sharing about the impact Esoteric Modalities have had on their lives, it is not so much having the symptoms cease or the issue be resolved, although it is staggering the number of cases when this does happen. What I find deeply moving is the expansion of the person’s engagement with and responsibility in their own life, and the deepening of the joy, understanding and care with which they are inspired and supported to live. It is a blossoming that is wonderful to witness.

  179. To read how you have overcome your symptoms that caused you such problems is nothing short of a miracle and is very powerful for others in similar situations to be inspired by. When we get symptoms for anything, the doctors have to diagnose us with a certain condition to be able to give us specific medication but that diagnosis can sometimes be a weight that hangs on us, especially with chronic conditions that the medical system thinks do not improve. We can become the person with that label but you show us it does not have to be the case and change is possible.

    1. Yes, it makes a vast difference whether a condition is life long or whether it can be improved. Your example could be inspirational and medically helpful.

  180. In simple terms I have never felt a modality like connective tissue before, the way I feel still and at one in my body is quite remarkable. The felling of connection and warmth that the modality reminds me can be there always is much needed in society and in my life. I have no doubt SD the life changes that stemmed from your choices and the support of the modality with conventional medicine. Its all together that things really work.

  181. It must be devastating when someone is told that they will be spending the rest of their life in pain and handed painkillers and anti-depressants, and yet here we have a story of recovery that goes against everything that we know about illness and disease.

    1. Yes Julie, it must be so difficult to deal with, particularly if we are told it is lifelong and there is nothing we can do. Yet this story like so many others shows we must never give up on ourselves, but must question deeply what it may be we need to change about how we live to give ourselves the best chance to recover from the ill health that we and no-one else creates.

  182. This is an amazing sharing as is the power of esoteric connective tissue therapy and the realness of who we are it allows us to feel and know inside.” slowly with time, I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself that I experienced during the sessions. And eventually, the pain stopped.” The responsibility this offers us all is very evident and empowering for our health, livingness and vitality of life we are all from.

  183. How is it we have accepted in so many ways, harshness and abruptness to be ‘normal’ in our day? Your sharing here SD reminds me of the serious side effects this has on our body. I can sit here and read your account and say that is extreme, but in truth I can see how everything you said equally applies to me. I just haven’t been categorized and diagnosed with this yet. But as you beautifully show, this state of illness does not suddenly descend but builds up based on the way we choose to harden.

  184. Feeling the body and breath as one naturally releases the layers of protection and hardness we use to not express and receive love.

  185. The marriage of western medicine and the esoteric modalities deserves deep appreciation of Serge Benhayon. He has brought true healing to the world. We cannot heal our bodies without taking responsibility for the underlying disconnection we have with our essence – our natural harmonious way.

  186. It is unheard of to heal from fibromyalgia in the medical system. It is one of those conditions where you are told you may get exacerbations and remissions, but you will be stuck with it at some level for the rest of your life. That is a pretty damning thing to be told, especially when it tends to be young people who have this condition. But you have proved it to be completely false. This is proof that when we combine esoteric healing with conventional medicine, the two complement each other, and true healing does happen.

  187. Your blog highlights the miracles that can occur if we don’t give up on ourselves or life, and if we look after our bodies even when it can seem like there is ‘no point’ because we’re already sick or have a permanent condition like fibromyalgia.

  188. From reading your blog SD, it is clear that without the support of Esoteric Healing modalities, in particular Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, you would more than likely still have this condition and your life would be very different to the one you have now. Which raises the question, how many other conditions could potentially be supported alongside conventional medicine by these profoundly healing yet simple techniques?

  189. If there was a way to provide evidence-based proof that this combination of therapies works particularly well and if that was the case, the lives of millions of people could change quite dramatically.

  190. This blog site is full of amazing stories like this one, conditions that would otherwise be for life or terminal and dreaded, avoided or create a reaction of major distress are supported to clear and heal when Esoteric therapies are used alongside conventional medical programs, it’s beautiful.

  191. For almost anyone there are areas of their life that are ‘less important’ than others, and given much less space/attention, such as sleep, diet, exercise, working, resting, being with family, relationships, being outside and so forth, but I love what your physiotherapist mentioned about all of these overlapping with each other to make up one whole big picture of our lives, and that actually to address or not address one aspect is never done in isolation, because everything affects everything.

  192. This is the key thing about Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, that the modality supports you to deeply connect to your body and feel the exquisite stillness of you, of what lies deeply within, and recognise yourself as this first and foremost. So I can understand how your focus becomes on this rather than the pain “…I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself that I experienced during the sessions. And eventually, the pain stopped…”

  193. it is remarkable how we can run our lives disregarding our sense that all may not be okay with our choices, and even ignore so much of the signals of our own bodies until we are literally stopped in our tracks. In that respect it seems fair to say thank God for the illnesses and disease that stops us in our tracks, because sooner or later we have to accept that our choices not only affect ourself, but they also impact everyone else.

  194. What is the pain that is not physical that leads to “registering pain where there was no cause for pain” with nerves and muscles in reaction but not damaged? How this has come about? How did someone move that led him/her to live with this condition? These are crucial questions that should be answered so people know what awaits them if they walk in life in a certain way.

  195. Wow Wow and Wow, this is amazing SD, I know a lot of people with fibromyalgia and many feel helpless and slave to there condition, you have totally turned this around and brought in a level of self love that was not there before. – totally inspiring thank you.

  196. I agree. The combination of us working on how we live and a good intervention can be very powerful.

  197. Clearly, this kind of success is not guaranteed but if even a proportion of sufferers get relief and perhaps even a full recovery, then this would be very much worth investigating.

  198. What a beautiful story of self discovery and taking responsibility for healing yourself SD. I love how you combined and appreciated esoteric and conventional medicine in your healing; very inspirational.

  199. I love blogs like this sharing how amazing the esoteric healing modalities are. So incredible to have these to support our bodies.

  200. The smallest of movements, as done in connective tissue, have the power to completely reconfigure and heal the body. The magic of alchemy in the body is endless.

    1. So true Vicky, and what I have found is that even in doing connective tissue movements ourselves, the gentler and more tender these movements are consciously chosen to be, the deeper and more profound the effect they have on the body. So we can basically heal ourselves in every moment we breathe.

  201. I take my hat off to you, when you were first diagnosed it sounds really full on with what you were feeling yet even then you could not just stop being a single parent with two small boys. That must have been difficult. Also reading about the different ‘parts’ of life the physiotherapist spoke of (really it is all one life not segments) I feel sleep must be a big one for a lot of people and I have experienced this myself in that, if you go to bed exhausted you still wake up exhausted!!! If we don’t give ourselves time to stop and reflect on our day, wind down and just be with us we carry on the day in our body even in our sleep .. the stress, tension and nervous energy so our body never truly gets a rest. This is something very valuable I have learnt from Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine. You are an inspiration. Have you every considered setting up a website or blog where other people diagnosed with fibromyalgia can contact you? It could be extremely supportive to them.

  202. ‘Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy – the beginnings of choosing to be responsible’ – and what a beautiful responsibility that is – truly caring for and observing the body.

  203. A perfect example of the wonderful marriage between esoteric medicine and conventional medicine that is going to revolutionise medicine and healing in the future.

    1. The more you hear about real life stories of people who have incorporated both esoteric medicine and conventional medicine in their healing program, the more obvious it becomes that anything less than this simply does not make sense.

  204. Without recognition of the truth of our divine essence, why would we change for anything, other than the avoidance of pain? So much of the time, we make healthy changes to our life, not because of what it can truly offer us, but instead out of fear of what will happen if we don’t. Enter Esoteric therapies and their true place in the scheme of things, which give us an opportunity to feel our true essence, to in turn inspire us to make lifestyle choices that make it possible to live according to that essence in every moment of every day.

  205. The relationship with self and the quality of that relationship is critical to every aspect of life.

  206. I find it is very inspiring the way you have owned that it was your responsibility to heal. The more we can all be honest and engage in our healing the more we can claim true medicine that is available.

  207. Considering that the Connective Tissue is everywhere in the body and is the surrounding coating for many organs, muscles and systems, to be able to have a session in Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is super supportive. Each time I have experienced Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy I had very quickly dropped and gone into a deep letting go. Which has helped me feel and see how much of time I am not living with connective tissue in this relaxed state. It makes complete sense if this is relaxed, that supports everything around it to be in this same relaxed quality.

  208. I work in a clinic and so many clients come to us with issues concerning their nervous system, be it the control held in the body, stress, anxiety or over stimulation, these factors have a huge impact on how someone feels, it is a physio, massage and complementary health clinic, so very much about the body, but unless we look at the nervous system and how someone feels, it is not truly offering them a complete service. This is an area that more research can be done in, it is critical we understand that stress and emotional issues and harboured hurts impact severely on our population’s health and well-being.

  209. So often when we experience pain, we don’t want to move our bodies, but your experience here SD is showing us that it is exactly what we should be doing, albeit very gently with the quality of the movement being the golden key. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is quite remarkable in its abiltiy to assist true movement back to the body, and with these very gentle and subtle techniques they encourage areas that have been locked tight or in a lot of tension, to open up and relax allowing a true flow of movement to re-establish itself once again. What a great testimony yours is to this Heaven sent modality.

  210. It is very encouraging to read how effective it is to our overall well-being to make changes that support the body, and this is a great testimony to what conventional Medicine and Esoteric Medicine can achieve when working together, with the full commitment of the patient.

  211. Considering the connective tissue is everywhere in the body it makes total sense to be able to connect with it and support it to be in an open and natural flow. When this is what the body is being asked to go to during a connective tissue session we have the opportunity to let go.

  212. What a majestic story, one of commitment and responsibility, one that is of someone sharing all of who they are and then what it took to learn to self love and nurture your body and inner self. Very inspiring.

  213. I was interested SD to read you are a medical administrator and imagined how our connective tissue is like the role of administration in organisations. From my experience administrators are the links and supports for an organisation and play a vital role in healthy and productive functioning and when our connective tissue is in harmony it plays exactly the same role for our bodies.

  214. You make a good observation here in your blog SD that your condition began at a time of intense personal stress. As a clinician I have seen this happen with clients and with myself in my own life enough times to know for sure that the emotional and the physical cannot be separated and they are linked together. Many people experience physical symptoms after an intense period in their lives.

  215. Conventional medicine along with Esoteric medicine working in unison for the common goal of healing, and this article is an awesome example of that.

  216. ‘And I decided that if words spoken in my mind made me feel bad about myself, then they were simply not from me or the love that I am, they were a learnt behaviour that did not belong to me or my body and therefore I gave them no time – sometimes I would actually tell them to go away – which helped enormously.’ We tend to think of being self loving is all about the foods we eat or how we nurture ourselves in the way we wash, dress or exercise and yet what you share here S.D is one of the most self loving things we can do for ourselves. Saying no to the inner critic that wants to put us down is so loving and great for our bodies.

    1. This is so true, that negative self talk if listened to and given any consideration can have us hooked in no time – it is just not worth it and is extremely unhealthy for us.

  217. It is so lovely to read about a modality which can support the body to come back out of its long term reaction to stress and inflammation. If we consider that the connective tissue supports and links all the organs, ligaments and fibres etc, if it is in harmony then it would support the body to come back into harmony, simply beautiful.

  218. An amazing transformation SD from having chronic pain and fatigue to living free from these. Gosh, I’m sure if you spoke to many GPs that this kind of change is rare in patients. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is the most gentle treatment I’ve experienced and it feels like it so very gently encourages my body to return to a state of being that is its natural state, with a flow and ease within it. Following a ECTT treatment my movements always feel very smooth and super delicate.

  219. There are many illnesses that are seeming incurable, like anxiety, but the Esoteric Therapies offer a different approach to healing, and as complementary to medicine therapies they are proving to be a game changer.

  220. “The main feature of these sessions for me, was the fact that on the couch during the treatment, there was no pain. No anxiety, stress, or tension. I would feel whole and complete. I would feel warmth from the inside out that spread throughout my whole body. This warmth, I came to understand, was the real me – the truth of who I am. Not because the practitioner told me so, but because I could feel it. It was familiar,”
A beautiful understanding and description of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy , Healing and Conventional Medicine working together.

  221. I wonder if esoteric connective tissue therapy also shows a way of moving our body which we can then emulate ourselves.

  222. Your sharing of how you have healed the Fibromyalgia demonstrates how true healing comes with the combination of Conventional medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy.

  223. I wonder if there will come a time when we as a large and developed society, will be able to truly define what fibromyalgia is. My experience of this condition has been to date that of medical practitioners gathering a group of symptoms together, which can be different for different people, and calling it fibromyalgia. However, the real condition is more complex, it involves a great deal of unresolved hidden hurts being carried around in the body, it involves a lot of giving up on life and on oneself, it involves a long personal history of severe disregard, it involves losing confidence in one’s ability to express and to love. I understand that we do need a word to sum all of this up as this makes it easier to treat in the medical world, however, by the reduction of so many complex issues down in to one single word, and to call that condition chronic, leaves a person with very little options. I feel that a true way forward is to bring education to the world about how this condition can be very subtly working in the background when we are not wholly self loving.

  224. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is remarkable in its abilty to truly support the body to heal, even though the movements given during treatments are so gentle and subtle. But then if we consider all the movements that are continually happening within our bodies in every moment of every day that go unnoticed, which are what keep us alive, and how it can heal itself when we have an injury while we carry on with our day, perhaps it is not so surprising after all. The Connective Tissue modality is one that with no doubt, in time will be available to all, and we will wonder how on earth we managed without it!

  225. A great example of the combination of orthodox and complementary medicines working wonders.

  226. When I read this line “I could not stand against the tide of fibromyalgia which came crashing down around me” I felt the enormous blessing of this dis-ease. The momentum was momentarily paused for a choice to be made – to align with the soul or to continue the fight. I can completely relate to this choice, and how it plays out in its own way for all of us, as we are all making this choice constantly.

  227. It makes so much sense to me that we store things deep within on a physical level in our connective tissue. For example, we can all feel in our body the hardness and tension we go into when we get angry. Emotions and reactions to life are expressed in our body and our body can store this especially if we repeatedly do the same thing. Going deep within and restoring the connective tissue is proving to have incredible results. Great article.

  228. Such a truly beautiful blog SD – and a great inspiration and healing to the whole world. I am learning to understand that my life and health are my responsibility to me and to the Universe – which is far from how I use to view life. As I slowly learn to listen to my body and treat it with love and care it is beginning to heal and unfold. I am amazed at how greatly my life has changed – and like yours I have been supported by Western Medicine and Universal Medicine. There has always been a sense of knowing inside me that everything is connected – that if I treat myself harshly this will cause pain and contraction but up until recently the old patterns were over riding my innate wisdom but as I learn to let go I am building a deeper connection to the ‘knowing’. And as you say my life has been greatly supported by Connective Tissue Therapy which offers an allowing and expansion offering us a space to return home to our essence.

    1. I had that knowing that everything is connected but often I did my best to ignore it or chose to behave disharmoniously and accepting the consequences despite the harm – I preferred the benefit of ignoring or overriding my body then.

  229. This line stood out for me SD “She said that I could move through the pain and it would not cause further harm, and in fact she encouraged me to move as much as possible – to reintroduce true movement back in to my body again.” I love this line because it confirms what Universal Medicine has been saying for a long time that through true movement we can heal the body.

  230. SD I love the way both the specialist and the physiotherapist offered you support that you could relate to and both gave you a deeper understanding of your fibromyalgia. We tend to focus on one part of the illness and be absorbed by this without looking at how we live as a whole. All areas of our life need to be harmonious for us to have true health and well being.

  231. Fibromyalgia is a condition that the medical profession have no answers for while what you present here, SD, shows that with taking responsibility for one’s choices and the correct support it is possible to turn one’s life around and truly heal.

  232. Connective Tissue therapy really is extraordinary… I had the amazing experience recently of just having had an operation, and having practitioners coming into the hospital and giving me CT… It really did make such a difference, and one day without a doubt every patient will be receiving it.

  233. SD you are a great inspiration of taking your own life into your own hands – not only in being open to hear the wise advice of those practitioners that you encountered in the hospital, medical and Esoteric Connective Tissue domains, but also in the way you addressed your exercising and your psychological wellbeing by becoming aware of the negative self-talk that was a constant commentary on yourself. Awareness, dedication, openness and your choosing this way of living has brought about what we would term a miracle – as you said, your doctor diagnosed that this disease was chronic and would never heal.

  234. Re-introducing true movement into the body makes enormous changes in all areas of our lives. This has been my focus lately through the Esoteric Healing modalities and I am loving the results. I can feel every cell in my body wake up and sing!

  235. It is stories like these that constantly remind me that our body has many stories to share with us. The more understanding we have of what is going on the more we can feel what this is reflecting back to us about how we are living.

  236. When you took the whole body approach to your illness, you started to take responsibility for yourself and started to make more self-loving changes. Then of course you feel different, the body completely reconfigures with the Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy when we support ourselves. The body has this amazing intelligence we can tap into when we choose it.

  237. Wow! Re-reading this blog I am feeling what an empowering blog this is to read SD. A true example to all of how you can do it, and the fact that it can be done. Thank you!

  238. What a brilliant transformation from your loving choices and taking true responsibility for your health body and life and the power we all hold with this is amazing to read and know. The Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy sessions are very supportive and beautiful to receive and life changing for me also.

  239. It is inspiring to feel how you took responsibility for re-introducing harmony in your life with the support of both conventional medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy. When we are out of balance in any way the body can only reflect this back to us by bringing us to a stop in whatever way is needed. Your willingness to be open to what was communicated has allowed the deep healing that has taken place so that you can now participate actively in all aspects of life. This deserves to be widely shared as it is applicable for so many conditions.

  240. It is very touching to feel the support you received from both the medical profession (your inspiring physiotherapist) and Universal Medicine practitioners in the form of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy. Together they provided a package that came together as a whole.

  241. Wow that is a miracle SD goes to show when we gain understanding about a disease and how to best support our self then anything is possible, if we commit to taking responsibility like you did for your healing.

  242. The decision and commitment to taking care of your body and sticking to this consistently shows how the body responds to self care, and how medicinal this is. Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy really supports the body and deepens the foundation for it to receive self care.

  243. This is a very powerful story of how our relationship with ourselves impacts our quality of life. It is a direct relationship with our bodies. The combination of conventional medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy supported such profound healing, and the most beautiful aspect is that when we begin to reconnect to ourselves, our life begins to change to a quality of love that brings enormous healing in itself, as love is not stress, exhaustion but vitality, sense of wellbeing and confidence in who we are.

  244. “It was like coming back to the security of my mother’s arms,… ”
This is such a beautiful description of the feeling that I too have in Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy sessions, which are deeply soothing and re-confirming.

  245. “The physiotherapist explained to me that when we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion and eventually fibromyalgia – my life in a nut-shell” – and also the majority of mankind too SD, we’re all completely exhausted and why so many people i see in my profession/job of recruiting, do experience burnout at all levels/position.. it used to be resigned just for top execs, or entrepreneurs, but nowadays i see it right from graduates. Without applied quality, what do we have?

  246. I love that you chose Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy as part of your healing SD – a very important piece in the puzzle, though all the pieces from every area of medicine have been so crucial here in your healing and that is inspiring. Esoteric Connective Tissue is one of the most powerful, beautiful and effective therapies on earth! Before experiencing it I had no idea how amazing it is to live in the body! It is a prime key in how to come back to living healthily and harmoniously.

  247. This is a fascinating experience and condition of the body. I didn’t know that fibromyalgia even existed and find it so interesting that there was no damage to the body yet the body was under such stress that the nervous system thought it was. How beautiful that the two consultants at the hospital were so supportive and honouring of you as a WHOLE person SD, and not just treating you as a condition.

  248. Taking our healing to a deeper awareness of that warmth spreading through our bodies and coming to know ourselves as the “delicate and precious being” that we are and how that changes our whole outlook on life beautifully highlights the power in choosing Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy.

  249. What a brilliant transformation SD, through your own choices to listen and hear the medical and esoteric description of your illness and take responsibility and act on it with the support of Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy you made this happen.

  250. There are many great aspects in this article, one very important aspect that often gets overlooked is where you talk about working with the ‘self talk’ aspect. We can look at what supports our body physically in relation to sickness and disease. We can look at diet and making changes but so often the ‘self talk’ aspect gets greatly neglected. How we are with ourselves, the quality of our relationship with self. It doesn’t matter how great our dietary changes are and how great the other changes are if we do not address this ‘self talk/relationship with self aspect as this very important aspect of self love in the binding pin and limits all else if not addressed.

    1. I can really feel what you are sharing Katie – if the self talk and mind chatter are there then we are still working against ourselves. It’s truly supportive to have our entire being present and willing partners to our overall choice to care for ourselves.

    2. A great point Katie, negative self talk is so destructive and detrimental to our health. It is the habit of making ourselves small and insignificant that keeps it running through our minds and it takes focus and loving determination to stop this whenever we become aware of it.

    3. What you have highlighted here Katie is really important in that ‘self-talk’ how we are with ourselves is often overlooked or in my experience not even being fully aware or conscious of how I was talking to myself so negatively and it would all happen in a split moment. So yes it is just as super important to be aware of this and work on this as well as diet and physical exercise for our whole well-being.

    4. Yes a super important point Katie. We are more and more realising that it makes a difference to our health whether we are running with a harmonious, loving feel, or a host of others such as anger, sadness, anxiousness or drive. Our ‘self talk’ can incessantly keep us trapped in the type of energy that is debilitating to our body. You are correct “It doesn’t matter how great our dietary changes are and how great the other changes are if we do not address this ‘self talk/relationship with self”.

  251. When I read this blog, I see the journey of a person who has chosen to live as a student of life. And in that choice, they are a student of The Way of The Livingness. This choice does not make this person special, or magical, or miraculous. It simply is a choice to be responsible to the best of their ability, which has changed the course of events in their life, which is beautiful, but not unlike any other person who lives and breathes and walks on this planet. As this choice, or this responsibility is available to us all, perhaps even without having to come to such dramatic physical consequences before actually realising that true health and responsible living lay in the palm of our hands.

  252. The answer for all the struggling healthcare systems worldwide is right here in your sharing SD.

  253. How many other illnesses and diseases could be truly healed through the combination of western medicine and Esoteric modalities… along with each and every person taking responsibility for their part?

  254. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is so very gentle and yet so very powerful… the profound healing it can offer is life changing.

  255. “It was like coming back to the security of my mother’s arms after the ordeal of being born and feeling her unconditional love for no other reason than the fact that it was me she was holding.” How gorgeous and beholding is this SD – the warmth of Love!

  256. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is indeed a truly magical modality, for its gentle and delicateness of touch along with the profoundity that is felt in the body and how it assists minute changes that eventually support much bigger changes. I had a session just this morning, and it was as though I could feel parts of my body literally reconnecting with each other. Your account here SD is showing that this is a modality that we cannot afford to ignore when it comes to our health care.

  257. “In addition, I worked on my self-talk, as I came to realise that this precious child I was developing a relationship with inside did not deserve to be spoken to with harsh words” – so true SD, and also the effect such thoughts have on our body too, in making it dense and heavy like extra weight [literally!]…. it’s much lighter in the body when such thoughts of criticalness of oneself or another, are stopped in their tracks.

  258. This is an amazing testimonial to healing with the support of conventional medicine and connective tissue therapy. You show that we are not victims of our disease and have much power in the clearing of it. The clarity and understanding you bring about your former condition is liberating and surely will be a support and inspiration to those who are experiencing the same problem.

  259. I was aware that fibromyalgia was extremely painful but I didn’t realise that the muscles were not damaged in any way and that the pain was a stress response. Wow. This is a great learning in how we are the creators of our own dis-ease and that by taking responsibility for how we are living we can in effect live miracles. Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy is instrumental in helping us let go of the stress we cling to so that we can surrender back to the great love that we are. If life is a mess then Heaven is restored the moment we commit to living our true selves completely, whole-heartedly, unashamedly and unapologetically.

  260. Wow. What a beautiful story. To be told you have a lifelong debilitating disease and then to have the strength within to heal yourself is a very powerful example of what is possible in life.

  261. ‘There is a commitment to life now that I am experiencing which is unlike anything I have known in myself before – because, somehow, this delicate and precious being that I am naturally has the power, the vitality, and the strength to diligently work and toil each and every day without getting exhausted, emotional, or drained.’ We have enormous resources to now live with true vitality and love in life.

  262. Understanding how sleep and stress play such a significant factor in our lives is precious…”The physiotherapist explained to me that when we are not getting the quality of sleep that we require, our nervous system has to step in to take over, which can lead to nervous exhaustion and eventually fibromyalgia – my life in a nut-shell.” I work as a massage therapist and everyday I see clients who are living with stress, their nervous system is highly stimulated and they have trouble sleeping. Many of the sessions involving looking at ways to come back to an awareness of the body that honours, rests and cares for it. It is awesome to understand the significance of this and how we deal with and perceive life and the stress factors that occur.

  263. How many millions of people worldwide are there who are suffering unnecessarily with all manner of illness, ill health and pain when they could either reduce their own suffering considerably or reverse their condition completely by making different choices. It’s actually almost agonising to realise that our suffering is man made but on the other hand what this therefore means is that the antidote to our suffering is also man made. One day we shall wake up to the fact that our fate is not so much in our own hands but in our choices.

  264. How great SD that you didn’t choose to go into being the victim but chose to listen and reflect on how you had been living had contributed to your illness and your willingness to take self-responsible actions towards healing your fibromyalgia with the wonderful support you received from your health carers and your acknowledgment and appreciation of this. I also have found, when unwell, Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy sessions I have with my practitioner to be of invaluable support.

  265. The union of Esoteric Therapies, and the medical world is clearly a great match for lasting healing and change.

  266. SD, your story is utterly inspiring and revelatory. The word ‘transformation’ epitomises what you have brought about and yet there is nothing mystical or unknown about what you have shared, on the contrary, you have laid down the very clear steps that you lovingly and methodically took in order to claim yourself back from fibromyalgia. Simply brilliant!

  267. “In fact I have the ability to bring all the love that I feel for myself to all the places and the people that I meet. Which is in itself a transformative event” – SD – this is so beautiful to feel, and inspiring as to what ‘letting go’ and ‘opening up’ (to love and to healing) can do, and, as you say – transform.

  268. SD – you had a great pain specialist, telling you that there is no actual nerve damage so you don’t have to curtail your movements, giving you one clue to heal. There is a lot of love and care in medicine, knowing the physical facts and what has worked for others.

  269. Healing a supposed chronic disease by first and foremost making different choices as well as by combining conventional and esoteric connective tissue therapy, is a modern miracle. What about an article in The Lancet in 2017? This is against every trend of modern society. I feel deep respect, gratitude and honour for all the amazing beings that have contributed to this life changing way of being with fibromyalgia. Thank you deeply for sharing.

  270. Negative self talk, perhaps one of the most harming ways to self destroy us. For me personally I might not always be aware of how I consider myself, but I do know that it is about more than just not being negative towards one self, but actually in being positive, proactively being willing to see and consolidate the good within and let it shine out. How might such an approach be used in the case of ill health, it seems the possibilities are that it could make a huge difference to our health outcomes.

  271. ‘The main feature of these sessions for me, was the fact that on the couch during the treatment, there was no pain. No anxiety, stress, or tension. I would feel whole and complete. I would feel warmth from the inside out that spread throughout my whole body. This warmth, I came to understand, was the real me – the truth of who I am.’ – This is so beautifully expressed – during these treatments you have allowed yourself to let go of any pictures of how it should be, any need to be fixed. From what I understand, you have simply allowed yourself to connect to that which is, your own essence.

  272. I love the fact that your physiotherapist was so insistent on explaining the importance of the elements of life and how all of these are important for the body to be in harmony. We often go to a practitioner to fix a certain part, and even if we live with a holistic awareness already we tend to forget it when we have a physical problem. A beautiful reminder for you and for us about the importance of the whole.

    1. Yes, we simultaneously increase our awareness and get a clearing and healing. The process can be extremely uncomfortable and even painful but the clearing is happening.

  273. It is amazing the pain that we inflict upon ourselves through the choices we are making. Most of us don’t feel that pain – but that doesn’t mean that the damage is not being done – just usually means that we are numbing ourselves with food, alcohol, drugs or just the excess of life – be those; over-drive, work, emotions..etc.

  274. “I had been experiencing pain in my legs for which I was seeking the perfect pair of shoes to remedy, and deep exhaustion for which I was supplementing myself with plenty of sugary foods to keep me going.” How often do we attempt to work out ways to ignore what our bodies are telling us by investing in props and management strategies to manage the pain and exhaustion, until our bodies finally collapse under the continued pressure to live in the same way? Thank you SD for demonstrating that the power of recovery lies in the way we regard ourselves, the quality of our daily choices that is then backed up to the hilt by the awesome support of Western Medicine and the Esoteric Healing modalities.

  275. Wowwzzers. Amazing story. And so inspiring to hear of such wise and supportive words from you doctors/specialists. So often we hear stories of massively over-stressed doctors and consultants rushing to prescribe drugs just to numb the symptoms and get on with trying to deal with the huge queue outside their door. To hear tales of true care is a great testament to the thousands of deeply caring and brilliant people working in the health system.

  276. Your story is tremendously powerful JD, and hugely uplifting – it would be so great for all those who are suffering from this condition to be able to read your journey, and what has helped you to truly heal – and see that the diagnosis of FM maybe doesn’t have to be a lifetime sentence.

  277. Connective tissue is an area in my body that I wasn’t aware of until I had a session in connective tissue with a Unversal Medicine practitioner. I was blown away how powerful and supportive this session was. Feeling my body on a whole other level and that even the most subtle movements that the treatment offered allowed me to go extremely deep and could feel the impact that it had on my body.

  278. This is true healing – being honest and open with what is going on and then taking responsibility for this in full. Also looking at how medicine and our own bodies play a part in all this together.

  279. I find myself re reading your blog many times, as this is so inspiring the way you have overcome fibromyalgia. It demonstrates how we all have a hand in the development of creating disease in some way, shape or form, be it thoughts about ourselves, attitudes, ideas, beliefs… all of which affect our behaviour. But then we also have a hand at changing these patterns and behaviours that lift the suppressive way and free up the body form the symptoms… Taking stock and responsibility of ourselves, is that dose of medicine that puts you back in the drivers seat of your body and your health. A brilliant read, thank you for sharing.

  280. Your sharing is very clear in its message and that is we ourselves that have to make the effort to heal by trusting that we are the experts on our own bodies. And not being afraid to follow what feels right for ourselves.

  281. I just re read your blog and it is so inspiring and can also be a bit of a wake up call as in, if I continue to live in the rushing and out of balance (I really like the idea of the 3 circles for each part of life in a drawing, as I like visualising) then I will be heading to exhaustion and possibly later fibromyalgia and it will only be a result of me not making self loving choices because I put work as more important than me.

  282. Beautiful how the re-introducing True Movement into the body shows miraculous returns. And how it includes all of life, the way we express and our approach to everything.

  283. ‘That I had in fact been living with fibromyalgia for some time, as I could recognise traits of it from when I was a child, and although not as extreme then, it was not surprising that I was feeling this way now, given how I had been living.’ – It is amazing how life can turn around when we open up for the fact that every choice we make comes with a consequence. With the next choice there can be true change. It’s our choice.

  284. This is such a beautiful blog, a love story, a story of how developing your love for yourself brings commitment to life and the ability to bring that love wherever you go and with whomever you meet.

  285. I love the journey that you so responsibly took: seeking advice and support from specialists for diagnosis of the issue, management of the symptoms, identifying our own part, how to heal and build a different way. This is a great example of how we could be approaching all physical issues with our body.

  286. I am very heartened by the competence, love, care and call to be responsible that came from the medical practitioners.

  287. After reading an article like this, it brings home the importance of introducing Esoteric Medicine to everybody.

  288. oh wow what a beautiful blog to read and what a credit to you that you ended up having such wonderful practitioners and support and that you healed yourself so gracefully. This blog would be a huge support to others in your situation and should be widely shared. I wonder if there is such a thing as a Fibromyalgia Society newsletter. Love the advice from the doctor who reassured you that you could move without harming yourself.

  289. It’s really amazing how your doctors described your condition to you – instead of looking over the symptoms and that they ‘ticked the boxes’ of fibromyalgia, then getting straight down to treatment or if anything could be done, they spent time making sure you understood HOW it all works, how your nerves were behaving and what your body was really doing which supported you to then readjust your way of living.

  290. What an incredible testament, SD, to you and your commitment to true healing, but also to the tremendous support that was there throughout, from both western and esoteric medicine.

  291. This feels so complete SD, the marriage of conventional medicine, Universal Medicine and self responsibility. The sum total speaks for its efficacy “my life has been transformed” – Your joy, commitment, vitality and strength illustrate this beautifully.

  292. Great to have the reflection that an illness is always related to how we are living and behaving in the world.

  293. SD thank you for this insight into Fibromyalgia, as it is one of those conditions you hear about from time to time but know very little about. Especially as there are many sufferers who have no idea that they do not have to live in constant pain.

  294. How awesome that the physiotherapist made the connection between lifestyle and the disharmony in the body. Great wisdom shared here, and an appreciation of the deep need for self-care – if not self-love in our lives.

  295. When we are open and willing to accept wisdom and guidance offered by conventional and complementary health practitioners we are truly blessed. To get the ah-ha moment, veils removed, see how we’ve been truly living, this is grace. Only then are we able to build a loving relationship with ourselves and take steps to self heal.

  296. What a joy it is to read you had brilliant support to understand there were choices you could make and take with supporting your health and a return to wellness. From past experience I agree we don’t need to take a one-sided view on a diagnosis and ‘live’ with a condition as in ‘that’s it your now labeled’ and suffer unnecessarily. There are many options and choices with treatments, medical assistance and therapies for a variety of conditions – and all worth exploring, it only requires our own commitment to our health.

    1. I agree. One of the most debilitating issues with healing can be the feeling “it won’t work anyway”. There is little medicine can do about that although many doctors and nurses try.

  297. The sharing of your experience with the Esoteric Connective Tissue modality shows how a person is supported to restore and reconnect back to an essence within their body that supports them to live with a deeper quality of care and love towards themselves and with whatever activity they are doing and how this makes a huge impact on their health and wellbeing. Clearly, this shows how our health is affected by the relationship we have towards ourselves.

  298. ” I would feel warmth from the inside out that spread throughout my whole body.” This has been my experience with Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and it is one of the most supportive techniques that I’ve found for my body, from whatever I’ve carried to the table I am able to let everything go and “drop” into a feeling of deep connection with myself. Something that is deeply special.

  299. What a super post SD, super in expression, and super in the results too. Especially loved how the medical staff/specialists were with you about your condition, putting things so simply so that you were able to grasp the enormity, yet not give up and equally do something for yourself about it too, it was as though they already knew all this of yourself already, or, what it was [words] that you needed to hear — to heal yourself as you have done. Brilliant.

  300. I’m very still after reading this remarkable story. From a life that ‘ended very young’ with a diagnosis that it would only get worse to a life with enormous vitality, joy and no pain. To me this is a clear testimony of how much we’re loved and supported when we make the deep choice to come back to who we are! With a lot of gratitude to all these amazing practitioners and especially to SD to make the commitment to life and the choice to share her experiences in this blog. That these choices may be deeply felt and appreciated by thousands of people in this world. This blog deserves an article in a world famous (medical) magazine. That we may be put to a stop, humbled and inspired to feel what we’re to learn from your experiences. Because we might not experience chronic pain or depression, but a lot of people I know do suffer from exhaustion and nervous tension.

  301. SD I was moved to tears from your experience today. What a gift those first 2 medical practitioners were to not indulge you in your pain but actually show you that you can heal from this and to look at the areas of your life that needed it. And then the blessing of Esoteric Healing Therapies that can connect you back to the absolute delicate power-full precious gem that you are. And the blessing of you – being open to a life of responsibility and re-discovering the true beauty of you. A true miracle.

  302. What an extraordinary experience you have had, through physical pain to deep awarenesses about yourself and your lifestyle to engaging with both allopathic and complementary medical practitioners to taking responsibility for making the necessary changes to embracing yourself, your journey and all the teachings along the way, all the way to not only full recovery, but to a state of being that far surpasses the starting point.
Amazing, I am sending this blog to a few people I know with similar health challenges right now!

  303. Your sharing here SD about your physical condition reminded me of how the underlying issues are commonplace and whilst I may not have had fibromyalgia the lack of true support for myself results in some form of dis-ease at a macro and micro level.

  304. Moving with an awareness of the intricacies of our connective tissue is felt through ever fibre of our body and being.

  305. What this presents is if we stop and connect to ourselves and our bodies then there is potential for miracles to happen. It requires dedication, commitment and consistency and even the most subtle of systems in the body that we can proclaim we don’t feel have enormous power to heal. There is a saying ‘Less is more’ and when we create the space to check and listen, we get to feel there is a whole lot more going on than we realised.

  306. Stress in our lives is responsible for many illnesses, but what most people don’t realise is that most of the stress is of their own making. We are not victims of circumstance, life is simply reflecting back to us how we are living and offering us a constant opportunity to make different choices. You have taken that responsibility, SD and you are showing us the way and how well it can be done.

  307. “There is a commitment to life now that I am experiencing which is unlike anything I have known in myself before” and therefore a true sign of the real healing has taken place, when a quality that is greater than the level of health and commitment we had prior to getting sick is restored to us.

  308. I love the added insight Universal Medicine has brought to my relationship with pain, illness, disease and other body ailments. I used to be very diligent at looking for ways to fix such issues and return to function. However now, my starting point is not just function, but looking at quality. I know the issue I see is the end result of a long trail of choices with compromised quality, and what is more the physical symptom is only the tip of an iceberg with a huge outplay of that energy already in motion underneath. So healing is seen in a completely different perspective. This awareness is profound and invaluable.

  309. It is interesting that when we live our lives on a high, a buzz, on nervous system energy, the anxiety we feel becomes the normal and we stop registering the fact that this feels racy. When we have an Esoteric Connective Tissue treatment, it returns us back to the flow the body can live in, in harmony. The feeling in the body confirms the power of the treatment and allows the body to rebalance. Then it is our choice to take the next step forwards, to return to anxiety or to hold onto the balance.

  310. What a wonderful reflection of the power of self-love and self-care to transform life. So many of us are very hard on ourselves and are anything but loving. But this is just an old pattern and momentum we have chosen to align with and there is an alternative way – the way of self-love. Thank you for sharing the story of your transformation here SD. Very inspiring.

  311. Fibromyalgia is considered as an illness which is very hard to heal or not to heal at all. Your sharing is so precious in order to get to know that there is a way to heal fibromyalgia.

  312. There are more and more people all over the globe whose lives are changing due to their commitment to healing and with the marriage of Western and Esoteric Medicine.

  313. SD I love this point “to say that my life has been transformed by the support of Conventional Western Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is an understatement.” It shows that when you combine great skill with amazing wisdom, true healing takes place.

  314. This is a total miracle SD. How amazing is responsibility! When we look deeper into the ‘Why”s of a medical condition or dis-ease and change our lifestyle/quality of living according to what we learn, it’s fascinating how the body responds.

  315. ‘And I decided that if words spoken in my mind made me feel bad about myself, then they were simply not from me or the love that I am’ – A super powerful decision, one that will affect every move you make in that knowing. This is something our bodies deeply respond to and a polar opposite of what we put ourselves through when we go into critisism and judgment and choose to identify with it.

  316. One of the biggest effects of being loving to oneself is the simple understanding that “with the way I have been living, what is happening now makes quite a lot of sense”, followed by “but that also means I can change the way I have been living and have something else happening”. It sounds obvious but experiencing this with love rather than condemnation allows change to happen.

  317. I too wonder often are we in reaction to certain aspects of our life which actually cause an inflammation in our bodies? Perhaps true healing involves us dealing with our reactions before it shows so clearly elsewhere.

  318. Having met people with fibromyalgia and having experienced nerve damage myself and the excruciating pain, it is awesome to read of your experience and know that there is a way to change your life and not be in pain and suffer.

  319. What a gorgeous story to read and be inspired by SD. A wonderful example of taking responsibility to combine Conventional Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy to heal and expand your life.

  320. If we multiply your experience and attitude towards health, by hundreds or even thousands, can you imagine the shift, or even the transformation of our public health system?… the demands and strain that are currently on it would dramatically be reduced, and the wellbeing of our community would be of a greater standard of living.

  321. The law of love that is cause and effect is an extraordinary divine law that most people rail against. Yet you have grasped your opportunity with both hands SD, saw and learnt what was needed to be seen and learnt and moved through it and on. Wow!

  322. We think we can get away with so much by just pushing through, ignoring our bodies to fulfill our minds’ wishes, when in fact everything affects our body, and one day we have to feel it all.

  323. How complete and incredible is the healing when we discern everything on offer and take responsibility for our part in the illness and in the healing.

  324. The power of esoteric connective tissue is quite remarkable so deep and true to our bodies restoring our internal flow and balance . It is part of our internal balance and the more this can be known and be wide spread it can assist and help humanity with our bodies and all that it is needed.

  325. I love the sense of responsibility for your own healing that you gradually gained as you went through your journey with the different practitioners. This is a gorgeous story of taking back responsibility and empowering and healing yourself. Very inspiring.

  326. This is a super inspiring example of how we can remain completely engaged in the process of clarifying what is going on with our body, adopting ways of relieving the symptoms and healing the issue. I love that although you had wonderful professionals assisting you, at each step you also chose to take what they offered into your life, and develop your understanding and responsibility. So a situation in which many would feel helpless and disempowered, has become a situation that has greater awareness and empowerment.

  327. Your twofold transformation is truly amazing – not simply physically, but your whole life and the quality of it changed and improved, leading the way for the physical body to also get better.

  328. Thank you SD – I love this statement – ‘It was my responsibility to heal.’ – To understand that we ourselves are the instigators to true healing is life changing, I have seen it over and over again and I have expereinced it myself – the moment we take responsibility for our our own health and wellbeing in the way we live, eat, sleep, think, walk, talk etc., that’s when the true healing can begin.

  329. What a turn-around! Your blog/testimony should be shared with more professionals out there so they could tell their patients what it truly means to take responsibility for their own lives. That’s what you have done, and that is very inspirational.

  330. Amazing what you have come to learn and heal from having Fibromyalgia and experiencing Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy. The way human life is set up makes it excusable to be living with mild pain, or signs of illness coming on as long as we can still function and look ‘the picture’, but it isn’t until we experience a chronic illness or a treatment like Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy that we realise there is another way to live which is deeply harmonious (for the body).

  331. We often sacrifice sleep in order to complete the day’s activities, and it leaves us feeling depleted the next day. Making early nights an essential part of our daily self care routine means we wake feeling refreshed and ready for whatever the next day brings.

  332. Brilliant example of responsibility SD. Our bodies are such brilliant communicators that we can never escape. Learning to work with our bodies and not against them is vital for our wellbeing and evolution.

  333. What an amazing change in your health and a confirmation on the truly remarkable Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy technique with both esoteric medicine and traditional medicine coming together for all aspects of our health and vitality.

  334. I cannot imagine the feeling of a life sentence being told that life would be continued in pain forever and it would never go away. it is surely no surprise that people need to take antidepressants. What you share here is life changing and offers a different way forwards for anyone and another perspective to understand the body is giving a message for us to listen to and learn from.

  335. “So, to say that my life has been transformed by the support of Conventional Western Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is an understatement.” It is an understatement because what we are witnessing here is a miracle! How many people can claim to have resolved this condition SD, for so many the only options are to resign themselves to a life of medication and terrible pain. What you have shown us through a very real and painful experience is that there is a way to truly resolve this illness, as well as these the two health approaches you have presented, the way we treat our selves and how we live each day plays a huge part in healing fibromyalgia. Really healing it, not managing it or smothering it, but living in such a tender, self honouring way that it actually leaves your body. Subsequently it begs the question, do conditions like these arise because of how we treat our selves in the first place, if they can leave our bodies when we treat our selves (and everyone) with utmost love, respect and tenderness? And what adds weight to your presentation here is that you have accomplished this while still being a single parent raising your kids, working and looking after yourself. It’s an immense achievement and one that should be broadcast far and wide from the rooftops.

  336. What a gift you have given yourself, your life back, and a renewed commitment to it through such a wonderful combination of supports. How awesome for you and for your family, friends and workmates.

  337. Getting the quality of sleep we require depends on the quality we live in our day and how we prepare ourselves for bed at the end of the day. When we honour ourselves in our activities and movements nervousness soon fades and loses it’s hold.

  338. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is an incredibly subtle yet profoundly powerful modality which cannot be underestimated. I had several treatments during a period when I had a frozen shoulder and could barley lift my arm, but with regular sessions and a willingness to look at the deeper aspects of why I had this condition, along with some simple regular exercises, the movement gradually came back, the pain went and now its as though the problem never even existed. If this therapy was introduced to every physiotherapy unit, it would no doubt reduce the number of people needing treatment dramatically.

  339. Understanding, accepting and initiating true movement in my body has been truly significant in regard to clearing physical pain and tension. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy has been very supportive, as has my own deepening awareness that movements done, gently, tenderly and honoring my physicality don’t leave hard and harsh ‘internal imprints’ that need recovery from. If we could actually see the damage we cause ourselves on the inside I’m sure we would take more care initially and not wait for illness and disease, and from what I’m discovering is unnecessary dis-ease.

  340. Your story is nothing short of an absolute miracle SD and I just love how the universe works as I have a client who just recently shared with me that she was suffering from fibromyalgia which I admitted I knew nothing about but I said I felt certain that Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy would help her and gave her a contact. I can now share this blog with her – how amazingly beautiful!

    1. I love how when we share it helps support others, that is why expression is so important; if we are silent and keep things to ourselves no one learns, grows, evolves or heals. Writing this now I can still feel areas within my body where I hold back and do not express everything there is to be expressed. This is definitely one to work on, as from just reading this I know how valuable expression is both for ourselves and others.

  341. I just loved reading this “It was like coming back to the security of my mother’s arms after the ordeal of being born and feeling her unconditional love for no other reason than the fact that it was me she was holding.” Exquisitely beautiful.

  342. This is such an amazing blueprint for how we can all go about healing illness that has stemmed from past damaging behavioural SD – and then of course as we live more truly and lovingly we will have less to have to heal (yet there being no perfection on earth). The key and vital ingredient in this process is as you have stated – you realised that ‘It was my responsibility to heal’. This is an enormous step to take in the healing process and one which is largely ignored in our society – many just hand over all responsibility to the medical team and then frequently blame them if things don’t improve. Thank you for this great article SD.

  343. What an extraordinary and inspiring journey you have had SD, from a life that was completely debilitating to one that is now vital and full. Your recovery is nothing short of miraculous and shows us that by taking responsibility for our own health, even when we have a chronic condition such as this, we have the potential to turn our lives around.

  344. Your willingness to observe your ingrained patterns, to take responsibility for what has happened in your life and to truly heal (not just reduce your symptoms) is inspirational.

  345. How great yet simple is that drawing of those circles and balancing life activity? So simple, but I would assume that most of us would be out of balance, with work, rest, exercise, etc. Receiving support on so many levels for this debilitating disease showed how it can not only be restorative but also life changing.

  346. ‘I left the hospital with a very real and clear understanding of myself and of the choices I had made which led me to that point’. – The opportunity to talk through with openness and honesty unfolded for you a deeper understanding of your life although shockingly painful – such a beautiful gift. How often do we all push ourselves and override the pressure this puts on our body only to fall in a heap or resort to alcohol, drugs, food laden with sugar, heavy with Gluten or Dairy to bring comfort from outside of us. SD, I loved your comment – ‘ It was my responsibility to heal’. This blog is inspiring to read but also so practical in its content that others are empowered and can clearly understand the choices they can make and the combination of Conventional Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy available.

  347. This is a very powerful testimonial and shows how amazing Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is and also how amazing you are SD for making the commitment to change the way you were living and to heal yourself, this is truly inspiring.

  348. SD your story is indeed a medical miracle. The thing that struck me was the relationship you had with your condition; although it was chronic you were refreshingly positive. All too often we either deny that anything is wrong or are resentful that our bodies cannot keep up with our dis-harmonious lifestyle.
Taking full responsibility for your condition is a great first step to true healing.
Reflecting on the way of life that caused the condition without self-judgment, criticism, or despair. Accepting the treatments on offer and being loving towards yourself during the process I am sure had a lot to do with your healing and recovery.

  349. ‘It was my responsibility to heal’ – just reading this alone SD is amazing. And the way you see so clearly that there is no mistake in whatever ailment and issue we have. For they relate right back to a habit we are ready to heal. It is very inspiring to read your experience, as you are certainly not alone in living in anxiety and nervous energy this way. Your words inspire me to really honour the fact that this state of warmth and surrender Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy brings is actually naturally for me.

  350. I have heard of fibromyalgia but never knew much about it. This blog has been very informative and indeed inspiring SD. I was surprised to learn how important sleep is. Your life has certainly been transformed, with you at the helm together with the support of conventional medicine and complementary esoteric healing. This will be great for other sufferers of fibromyalgia to read.

  351. What a complete and awesome support package you have had during this painful phase of your life; the combination of conventional medicine, which offered you one part of the package, with Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy being another part, and how you cared for yourself being the third part, all equally important parts and all working together in union for what I have come to understand as true medicine, medicine that the world is desperately needing.

  352. Eating sugary foods is a great way to mask exhaustion, it keeps us feeling buzzy and ‘energised’ but apart from the toll the exhaustion itself is taking on our body, the sugar will be having a detrimental effect as well. We can use the craving for sugar as a marker, indicating an underlying exhaustion and then explore how we are living that is making us exhausted, whether it is lack of sleep, how we think about ourselves, or something else.

  353. When we have a label of a diagnosis for a group of symptoms, we can tend to sit back and become that, and absorb others’ empathy or sympathy or join a group of similarly challenged people with the same illness. Instead it is an opportunity to look deeper into what happened in life, what was going on in life before the illness, to feel what led up to that set of symptoms when something was out of balance but we were ignoring it or not able to deal with it. The combination of esoteric medicine complementing western medicine completes the journey for healing if we accept it, without attachment to the outcome.

  354. I had a client with fibromyalgia myself and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy was very supportive, but equally needed is to change the aspects in life which are not working.

  355. The description that your specialist consultant gave you about the pain has been an eye-opener to me “there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction.” It is clearly a debilitating, painful condition but one you show there is definitely a way to work your way through it and clear it from your body, from your life.

  356. This is a great testimony of what Western Medicine and Esoteric Healing, along with a healthy dose of self responsibility can do to change the path of an illness – this is the future.

  357. Wow, what you shared about your experience with the support of conventional medicine – how much we can change our own health when we accept it as our responsibility.

  358. This is amazing SD, and your experience with fibromyalgia evidences the power of commitment and responsibility. When we fully embrace the fact that our choices have a direct and immediate impact on the body, and that mental, energetic and physical health/wellbeing go hand in hand, then a condition or dis-ease becomes a checkpoint of reflection for our choices, one that can be changed, rather than a permanent burden.

  359. Yes indeed, SD. We can be doing all the right things in our day but negative self talk will undermine everything, because it brings a disharmonious energy into the body and disconnects us to the essence of who we are.

  360. ‘In fact I am more vital and strong than ever before and although I have myself to thank for that, the combination of Conventional Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy were definitely the deciding factors in my recovery.. A gorgeous testimonial to the power of self appreciation, acceptance and the support that is on offer both medically and esoterically.

  361. SD I am inspired by the way you took on board all of the information presented about your condition to gain an understanding of what was happening both physically and energetically, and how you fully committed to making the needed changes in your life. It is a miracle that you have been able to recover from this debilitating condition, paving the way for others to heal themselves too.

  362. It is a widely known fact in medicine today that often the current investigations and test results and the symptoms that someone experiences can be very different. For example with lower back pain some people can be in loads of pain with minimal physical tissue damage or no explanation for the levels of pain visible on an MRI. So clearly there is another factor going on here and I feel the connective tissue system and the science of how energy flows in and through the body may hold the answers to this.

  363. This is an awesome testimony not only to the superb marriage of Conventional Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy but to the power of our human interactions too. Bringing a deeper understanding to how just one part of our life affects everything delivers a new perspective on why we get ill and how we can restore our health by the addressing the way we live. What stands out for me here is that the way back to health was not to ‘beat’ or ‘fight’ the fibromyalgia, but to re-connect to your tenderness both internally and externally that had become buried under what sounds like a mountain of self abuse, immense stress and physical exhaustion. This is both a very inspiring journey and medical history in the making, as so often people resign themselves to these conditions and a life of pain without truly realizing the power of healing that lies deep within their bodies. You have demonstrated without doubt SD that we can resolve these serious conditions by addressing the quality of our lives: every movement, every internal thought, our food, work and rest, the quality of all these things are and always have been our everyday medicine.

    1. Great summary, Rowena of what good medicine actually is – taking responsibility for the quality with which we live our daily lives and committing to a more loving relationship with ourselves and others.

  364. When we choose to be responsible for our illness or condition and not blame anyone but accept that our condition is based on past choices, can we start to truly heal. The Esoteric Healing modalities are a beautiful complement to Western Medicine to support the body to clear an ill behaviour that no longer serves us. The key ingredient in the mix is us choosing our own healing and not being reliant on another to fix us

  365. Chronic pain is such a big problem for many people in today’s society. Pain clinics have a lot to offer but the Esoteric healing modalities allow you to develop a completely different relationship with the body. This is not one of overcoming or defeating but working with and in harmony with the body. So much can change when we start to be present and listen to the feedback from our body. We can feel how naturally we are gentle and respectful with ourselves.

  366. 1. This is a remarkable story and highlights how there are fabulous practitioners who can support us in every field. It is great to have the medical understanding and the whole life perspective, plus the coming back to feeling who you really are through connection with your body.

  367. This is a great testimonial for the Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy . . . “These sessions happened each week and slowly, slowly with time, I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself that I experienced during the sessions. And eventually, the pain stopped” . . . one that I can vouch for having been in constant pain myself.

  368. This is a great example of how Western Medicine and Esoteric Medicine, specifically Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, can work together to bring true healing… along with the person taking full responsibility for their part in the illness and healing process – very inspiring SD!

  369. How amazing is your story SD… truly a miracle of our modern age that needs to be shared in every medical publication and website worldwide.

  370. An inspiring story of true love and taking responsibility SD. What a wonderful group of ‘physicians and practitioners’ you constellated – the pain consultant who gave you the all-important information about the nervous system and the fact that the physical body was not damaged, the physiotherapist who brought in how important the role of harmony ad balance is in life, and finding the surrender to the truth of who you really are, with the Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapist. This is a beautiful example of each bringing what was needed for the healing and shows that there need be no conflict amongst different approaches to medicine as long as each is in integrity.

  371. Wow SD thank you for this very, very inspiring blog. This is the first time I heard of fibromyalgia. What you’ve shared hugely supports and inspire people with this condition who may feel they have no way of getting better to understand more about the process of healing and what this can look like. You have shown us that there is a way, and this is what really stood out for me, ‘It was my responsibility to heal.’ It is incredible how you managed to change your life around, heal and restore your body back to its natural state. You are a walking miracle SD and inspiring us immensely to take responsibility for our healing process.

  372. As I was reading you story SD, I had a deep appreciation of all the support that is available for us when we are diagnosed with an illness, each offering their area of expertise. It is a real team commitment, and we can all learn from each other when we work together. Bringing healing on every level, physically, emotionally and energetically.

  373. Very inspiring SD. We play an integral part in our own true healing as your story beautifully unfolds. Medicine is so supportive in many ways, and when we choose to live the medicine in our lives as you describe here our body responds willingly.

  374. This is a very inspiring story SD and a beautiful example of the marriage between western medicine and the Esoteric modalities. I have been working wiht them for many years now and the effect is profound, especially when the client takes responsibility for themselves in the way you have described you did. This allows each practitioner involved to then do their part in supporting the healing process, understanding that this ultimately rests with the client.

  375. Thank you for sharing, it goes to show that no matter what, it is never too late to return back to living the loveliness that we are are. It also shows how when we truly seek help the support is there in abundance.

  376. I love your sharing, SD. The beautiful healing you have had because of your commitment to yourself, the gentleness and expertise from the medical profession and the reconnection back to you at a deeper level through esoteric healing. Thank you.

  377. It is thought that as many as 1 in 25 people in the UK suffer from fibromyalgia. What an amazing blog to offer support to thousands of people with this condition.

    1. I agree Jane, this is certainly an amazing blog that inspires and support people. What you’ve shared, 1 in 25 people suffering from this condition is huge.

  378. A very beautiful story S.D. – I love how you were open to receive all the support on offer and that you were willing to take responsibility for the huge part you had to play in your healing.

  379. Getting a deeper understanding of an illness or disease on a both a physical and energetic level is truly empowering – I find that when I have that understanding of the whole of a situation then I can feel the way forwards and see where change is needed.

  380. I love the way you took the wisdom offered to you at each step and used it to expand your understanding and level of responsibility. A great example of how we could be actively using every situation in life to learn, expand our awareness and connect more deeply with the amazingness of who we are.

  381. This is such an inspiring account of how with absolute honesty, responsibility, commitment and dedication, we can support ourselves in seemingly miraculous ways.

  382. Your story is no short of a miracle. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is the perfect complement to conventional medicine, supporting the body to truly heal.

  383. We are often unaware of how much the way we talk to ourselves may be exacerbating our pain or ill health. You have shown the importance of recognising that these negative thoughts do not belong to you and how to clear them away.

    1. So true Carmel, when we are ill we are often confronted with negative thoughts and if we pay attention to them it interferes with the healing process, we never get to truth honesty and responsibility when we are self-critical. Self love is what is needed and being discerning of the thoughts in your head is one of the most self loving things you can do.

  384. Awesome to hear how the marriage between western medicine and esoteric healing has such a profound experience and outcome. When we get to a point of illness and disease then it is vital we get the support on a medical level to help the body to recover. It is also just as vital to look at the root cause of what caused such an illness or disease and to heal this, so as to arrest it re-occuring in the future. Universal Medicine, as taught by Serge Benhayon, healing modalities are without question the real deal and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is just one that is super powerful. The key is down to us taking responsibility for our own bodies and surrendering to such supportive healing techniques.

  385. Thank you for sharing your journey and showing how even with a chronic illness it is never a hopeless cause, when self-dedication and love is involved.

  386. This explanation is so helpful for others in a similar situation, to support them, because it fully explains really clearly what is happening in the body. Understanding it is the body’s reaction to the extremes of the stress helps us to look deeper than the current model of western medicine. We know we can feel pain, in many situations, like the death of a loved one, or the break up in a relationship, it is registered by the body as pain without having a physical origin. I love the combination with respect of the western medicine and the esoteric medicine, it feels complete with the two.

  387. i know someone who suffers from Fibromyalgia but I was’t aware of the condition as a whole and how it affects the body. After reading this blog I have a better understanding of the condition – so thank you for sharing this.

  388. It is amazing, even miraculous, when we finally decide to take responsibility for clearing the hurts and reactions that have dominated our thoughts and movements. Your story is super inspiring SD, thank you for sharing it with us.

  389. Through the sharing of your journey back to health you show clearly how the answer for healing lies not in treating the symptoms alone but addressing the cause as well.

  390. It is quite incredible to know that it is possible to turn around a potential debilitating illness such as this, by being willing to take responsibility for our own healing. The combination of conventional medicine with Esoteric Medicine is obviously a winning one, and one that cannot and should not be ignored.

  391. SD it is inspiring to hear how you accepted the advice of the medical professionals and took on board what your pain specialist shared in that the pain was not causing actual harm as I am sure the pain you were in felt very real. That takes trust to feel that it is safe to move through the pain and to commit to overcoming the illness when you had been advised by your doctor that you would be with this pain for life.

  392. This is incredible what you have shared. Firstly what came to me was how painful and what a low point this must have been for you and even though there are around what .. 7 billion of us in the world we can still feel alone and like we have no support. What the doctors shared with you and how they were was very supportive and from experience of having Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy I would know just how supportive this would have been for you as well, even how practitioners set clients up on the couches with blankets etc is so beautifull and deeply healing offering the client a complete and very supportive space than we are used to in life.

  393. I love how the doctor sat you down and drew you a diagram that showed that every element of your life contributed to your health. We often consider our health to be a separate entity, forgetting that everything we do contributes to our health, and our whole life is part of our health and well-being.

  394. This is an incredible story especially as it is a condition which as yet cannot be cured by the medical profession but in itself offers so much for everyone to learn from, and you SD are living proof that responsibility plays a huge part in our own healing.

  395. What an inspiring story of true healing where you did not just heal your symptoms but healed the root cause of the illness/disease. This is the future of medicine.

  396. It is always amazing the impact our life choices have on our bodies. The body will always tell us something is not right but how often but do we listen?

  397. We tend to rely on and expect the doctor, consultant, physiotherapist etc to get us better and although they can support us greatly, it is our responsibility to heal. It is only when we realise and accept this truth that miracles occur.

    1. We want the quick fix, the pill, the relief but it is only when we take full responsibility for our lives do things truly change, Otherwise all that happens is we manage the situations rather than learning from them.

  398. It is incredible how events in life can constellate to offer just the support needed, when we need it most. And we have to be open and ready to receive and appreciate what is being offered. In your case SD you were both.

  399. Wonderful SD – thank you so much for sharing your experience with fibromyalgia. For me it is very helpful to get this deeper understanding about this illness as I sometimes work with patients who are depressed having fibromyalgia. Your way of how you face your illness is so inspiring and I will have that in my mind – you are my role model now – to let the patients feel that there is a way out of this illness.

  400. Thankyou SD, as someone recovering from Fibromyalgia I appreciate everything you have shared. You are a walking miracle, keep telling your story as others need to know FM is not a life sentence. This line stood out for me “I came to identify myself less and less with the pain and more and more with the essence of myself that I experienced during the sessions. And eventually, the pain stopped.” This feels so significant because it’s like it is symbolic of living from pain/hurts and living in a painful way not listening to the inner true self or body (bad medicine), or living the simplicity, harmony, warmth, joy and love we are in essence (good medicine).

  401. SD your amazing article highlights the immense opportunity that is on offer to us for healing if we have the support and space to understand how we have made choices that have led us to that condition. Not about judgement, only awareness and understanding that it brings.

  402. I once worked with a young woman who was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and who wasn’t really offered much support from the medical profession at the time. Had I an understanding of this disease then as you have now clearly offered SD, I feel that I could have been much more supportive.

You also state “So, to say that my life has been transformed by the support of Conventional Western Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is an understatement.”

Clearly you received wonderful support from both areas of the medical profession; they were both very informative and able to communicate clearly with you, but don’t overlook yourself in this wonderful turn-around. SD, you chose to listen and recognise all that was being said to you, you took on the responsibility for your own health.

You chose to take the opportunity offered to you. Well done!

  403. Your story is one that is both amazing and yet also so totally rare – the transformation of your health, not just to better but to more vital and energised, loving and amaizng than ever before goes against ever trend and all the odds – thank you for sharing.

  404. SD, you have made it sound so simple to heal with the combination of Conventional and Esoteric medicine. To bring love to all those places and in your body that is needed, it is all there the power within. The Esoteric Modalities keep bringing the most amazing miraculous awareness to how I have been living to how I can live with harmony in my body.

  405. Brilliant blog SD. I love the contribution from the pain management consultant that the nervous system was registering pain but that there was no damage to the muscles, nerves or tissues – this would have set you free to begin moving again in harmony, instead of contracting away from life. Every medical practitioner that you have seen has played their part so well and you too have played your part through your willingness and openness to heal through re-assessing how you have lived on nervous energy but can now choose the emanation from the inner-heart. An amazing turn-around!

  406. “The consultant, who was a lovely young woman, described fibromyalgia as a condition of the nervous system, which was registering pain where there was no cause for pain. She said that it can come as a result of extreme stress in life. But the thing that she most wanted me to understand, is that there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction.”
This paragraph is life changing – putting into perspective what is truly happening to our bodies and why. Reacting to life’s situations is tension creating, we know our thoughts get tense, we can even feel it in our muscles. But what you share is the consistency and intensity that we choose to adopt this habit of internalizing and how much more is affected within our bodies. It’s essential we are as gently, lovingly open as possible with ourselves to support ourselves to start returning to the harmony we naturally are. Anything else truly isn’t worth the effort of pain, no matter what the thoughts are about perceived losses or gains.

  407. Reading this is so very healing, thank you. The holding you refer to by the practitioner and yourself is so loving I also feel held in the awareness of what is offered. Small pain, big pain, any pain, we can support ourselves to understand and bring loving care that does truly releases tension in our bodies, with the bonus of releasing the pain.

  408. I’m all too familiar with nervous energy. For years it has been an addiction, to go to behaviour when things would get tough. But – what i am humbly realising more and more is that in that moment of choosing to go into flight or flight, I am abdicating my responsibility because I am not choosing me, and what is needed at that moment for me to connect to and act on. It’s been a big pill to swallow… and I’m still in the process of swallowing it!

  409. What a powerful example of the combination of your commitment to heal, western medicine and esoteric healing. It is your commitment and taking responsibility that were the important first steps and allowing the support of professionals in their field.

  410. That’s amazing. I was of the understanding that fibromyalgia was a life long sentence so to speak. Well, that’s also what you were told. I love these miracles, miracles that don’t just come out of nowhere, but happen when we make choices we otherwise would ignore, like taking real deep care of ourselves. How awesome is that! The transformation really is incredible.

  411. Such a good blog, that is a seriously incredible thing to have gone through. Its got to be considered a miricale, yeah? The balance in your life is beautifully portrayed in the quality that this blog is written in, I got a really strong stettled feeling through my body whilst I was reading it, super inspiring the way that you choose to take total responsibility for where you were at.

  412. This is a modern day miracle, thank you for sharing it. In this situation many could become overcome by the situation and lose themselves to it. So inspiring to hear of your journey and the choices you made to heal yourself.

  413. It was interesting to note the response of the doctor and the prescription of anti-depressants. It shows the need to really take control of our lives in such a situation. We may be given a bleak diagnosis, but often this is based on a norm of how the general population cope with ill health. The more willing we are to change our ways the more any diagnosis does not have to be definitive and instead we can find a way back to true health and optimal wellbeing as SD has done.

  414. What a beautiful sharing that is an inspiration and deeply powerful for everyone. The understanding you share of the pain and how you could work with this from both medical and esoteric understanding is so supportive and is true medicine for our bodies and you are an amazing refection of this.Your turn around of your life and the commitment to taking responsibility and purpose is wonderful and inspiring for everyone and needs to be shared with everyone.

  415. “So, to say that my life has been transformed by the support of Conventional Western Medical Practices and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is an understatement.” wow this shows that we can’t look for one thing for the answer but it is a combination of everything in truth that supports us, that helps us heal and that changes our life for the future and that allows us to live true vitality that we naturally are. Thank you SD.

  416. Thank you so much for sharing this story SD. How inspiring that you were open to healing the fibromyalgia though connective tissue therapy and conventional intervention. The fact that you have healed from this is very impressive when so many people identify with their conditions and don’t get past them.

  417. What a beautiful blog to wake up to SD. How outstanding that your symptoms are no longer there, but even more outstanding was the transformation or really the return of yourself to you. What I also love about what you have shared is very clearly how medicine, physiotherapy and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy worked with you to support you in your choice to return to true health. I say your choice for I can clearly see along the way the choices that you have made. Very inspiring and deeply healing for anyone who may be going through similar circumstances.

  418. A great blog with a hard hitting story on fibromyalgia and how to go about breaking it down. It’s very interesting to see when we take care, true care of ourselves how our body responds. I have heard about fibromyalgia but never really read about it to any depth until now. Like many things we think these illnesses are a sentence but don’t get our heads up to see what we can actively do about it. Here is what we can do, a map of the care to take for yourself if you want an illness like this to be healed.

  419. I am inspired by what you are sharing here, it is such a testimony to how you can turn your life around. Great support from all your professionals and great dedication by you to being the change you wanted to see in your life. Your outcome is your proof, “somehow, this delicate and precious being that I am naturally has the power, the vitality, and the strength to diligently work and toil each and every day without getting exhausted, emotional, or drained.”

  420. The opportunity to change, coming from Western Medicine, and the wisdom that is brought by Esoteric Medicine truly is a match made in heaven.

  421. This is a truly inspiring story about the reality of fibromyalgia and the fact that it can be reversed – through understanding and with patience, honesty and responsibility.

  422. Wow SD. What an incredible story of recovery from the inside out. Thank you for providing such great insights into fibromyalgia. It sounds like a very debilitating illness and had you not taken responsibility for your healing and accepted the support you were offered by both conventional and complementary medicine you may have ended up in a very different place. Inspiring.

    1. It really is from the inside out, nothing topically added, not pills and no magic wand was used, it was a inner choice to change that transformed the life of someone who was told they would be stuck like this for ever.

  423. Thank you for sharing SD, your commitment to heal is inspiring for all and a true testament to the marriage of both Conventional and Esoteric Medicine which considers the person as a whole and encourages us to take responsibility of the way we choose to live.

    1. Spot on Francisco, and treating the person as a whole meant something quite different to me before I came across Esoteric Medicine. Prior to that the ‘whole’ referred to mental, emotional and physical essentially. My understanding now extends well beyond that to include the fact that everything is energy. This brings in a whole new level of responsibility and cause and effect. The effectiveness of this broader understanding and application in healing is profoundly different, as SD’s story shows.

  424. Wow what a transformation indeed This has nothing to do with managing symptoms but really taking responsibility and working with your body instead of against it. You were willing to have a honest look at your choices and changed them in self loving choices. I love the support you’ve got from the pain specialist by explaining how your nerves were affected and how to treat your body and what Connective Tissue Therapy meant in the whole process of committing to life again. Thank you for sharing your experiences with fibromyalgia and your healing process.

  425. I am super inspired by how you changed your life and especially how you changed your relationship with yourself. This is the only way we can heal our hurts and issues and as I am learning this relationship is super important and is one that is constantly evolving

  426. This is so amazing and I love how all those you went to for support ,conventional medicine and esoteric medicine empowered you and gave you a context to understand and support you in your steps forward. I’m really struck by how your consultant described the pain as your body in reaction and it shows so clearly how our bodies display to us how we live and it’s impact and I love how you took each piece back into your life and way you live and began to change. Thank you for sharing SD.

    1. I agree. It shows how both elements – medicine and esoteric connective tissue therapy – can work together and complement each other.

  427. Thank you for sharing this SD, it is so very important to know that there are ways to change our lives and in particular with disease or pain where there often seems no way out.

  428. It is gorgeous reading the way you have described your new connection to yourself: “warmth from inside out” “sweet” and “precious”, and how you started to understand that any harsh thoughts from your mind could simply not be from yourself and did not deserve time or attention. I have been understanding more and more how no unloving thoughts or actions can ever come from such a warm, sweet and precious place.

  429. To be told that you would have to spend the rest of your life in pain is a huge statement, however I understand where the medical profession are coming from as they have no cure for fibromyalgia and many illnesses at best supporting people to manage the pain involved.

Enter Universal Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy along with the expertise of conventional medicine and bingo, we have the answer and this story that demonstrates that what we may think is impossible is possible.

  430. This is super supportive to read and a great reminder that every choice, every thought and every movement either supports us in who we are or condemns us in a way that attacks not only the body but suppress the exquisite quality within. This is very empowering and requires a constant dedication to conscious presence with ourselves. Never in perfection and allowing ourselves to learn along the way.

  431. It is beautiful to hear how the combination of comventional medicine and esoteric connective tissue supported you to understand symptoms and offer healing. Your story is inspiring for everyone who is looking for true healing and not just fixes since fixes don’t work for long time. Thank you for sharing.

  432. Thank you SD for sharing your story, it is inspiring to know that within the medical profession we can hear words like ‘Harmony’ and ‘Sleep’ and know that they are giving us responsibility or our own health as well as supporting us with medication as required. Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy is one I find very supportive too – my nervous energy way of living led to a hyperactive thyroid, which is now back to normal, but whenever I get anxious or go back into that nervous energy way of being, it is the one therapy that helps to bring me back to stillness. It is so good to hear you have recovered fully and are living life to the full again.

  433. Wow what a sharing, thank you SD. It is great how you stepped up to taking self responsibility and worked with both conventional medicine and connective tissue therapy, to truly understand your condition. How you described fibromyalgia is a great eye opener. What is beautiful that there is a choice to change the way we live to support the healing of our body. I have known many who have suffer this condition, and give up, but your blog shows that there is another way.

  434. I love the awareness that your medical practitioners bought to you about fibromyalgia, that you cannot do any damage by moving and that it is exhaustion of the nervous system that is the underlying cause of the physical symptoms.
Gems of information for anyone whom is experiencing this condition. Armed with such knowledge allows for the possibility to look at the way we live life, to arrest and address what ever it is that is affecting our nervous system. And to not be afraid to continue to live life. This article is something that needs to be shared with others who also suffer fibromyalgia.

    1. Yes Leigh this is a powerful example of how being informed allows us to make choices there from that are more in line with the natural healing of our body instead of working against it and harming the body more.

  435. It was very inspiring to hear of the enlightened support you received from the medical system. A lot of doctors continue to dismiss conditions such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. With the understandings they offered, your medicos at the hospital placed the power back in your hands.

  436. Outstanding SD, thank you so much for sharing. Big congratulations in particular for the responsibility you took for your own healing. This blog will support many who stand in the shoes you once wore.

  437. You’re right, Susan. Even when we think we’re defeated there is the opportunity to take responsibility and to change our lives.

  438. What a transformation. For the rest of your life, you can always appreciate the huge, self loving step you have taken to support and change yourself. Simply awesome and very inspiring.

  439. Your sharing SD of your re-connection to who you are is striking in that it shows clearly how the body will pull us up if we do not listen. This stop has allowed all the moments overlooked and ignored since early in your life to be acknowledged. Given the love and care of both Western Medicine Doctors and Esoteric Connective Tissue Practitioners and your commitment to going more deeply into what was to be felt bought the healing your body was asking for.

  440. This is super inspiring, SD, and should be shared in medical journals, as it presents how a beautiful marriage of medicine and healing can undo even chronic conditions.

  441. “But the thing that she most wanted me to understand, is that there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction. She said that I could move through the pain and it would not cause further harm, and in fact she encouraged me to move as much as possible – to reintroduce true movement back in to by body again.” What i love about this SD is how you recognised that this condition, your body was asking you to re-learn how to move again, its like a new beginning, an opportunity to re-build and re-know yourself; the level of responsibility that you have shown here is awesome – no longer the victim of your choices but the living inspiration of them.

  442. What caught me by reading is this line “there was no actual damage to my muscles or my nerves – they were simply in reaction”. And I am wondering how often I feel a pain or a hurt ‘just because I am in reaction’? And I understand that the muscles are in reaction when they are not moved in love. Maybe I am as well then? So, when I am in reaction (because of someone said or did this or that) what is needed is love to be expressed. Hmm. This is to ponder and to experience. I already noticed when I be able to deepen my stillness instead of reacting with judgment to someone there is a space opening up which allows more to see and understand. Less hardening of the body goes along with this.

    1. I feel pain is caused by our reactions too, and affects our body much more than we would like to think. I used to suffer from chronic back pain and used to put it down to the job and the work I did, but as I became more aware of the times when I had back pain I could see that it was when I was no longer loving with myself, pushing my body, and the reaction was the resentment I felt when I did this to my body…..but rather than seeing this, I would prefer to blame the things I am doing. Being able to see that it is my reactions to situations that is the cause of my pain was a great healing, and now when I get back pain, I know I have hardened and my body has contracted and this is the pain I am feeling.

  443. In having known you for a few years I can say that you have blossomed into the most gorgeous woman right in front of my eyes. Of course I could feel this gorgeousness when I first met you but now, as you say, “I have the ability to bring all the love that I feel for myself to all the places and the people that I meet.” And this is such a blessing. And this love has no end I am sure.

  444. We are not our symptoms. Working with some clients with Long-term conditions including Fibromyalgia I have experienced how they can lose their sense of identity and become intricately identified with their disease. Thank you SD for sharing how by your willingness to look at why you ended up in this situation and your commitment to healing yourself with the support of professionals you are now able to live symptom free – this is truly a beacon of hope for the many who are caught in the cycle of constant pain and fatigue of a variety of conditions.

  445. Wow, thank you so much SD for sharing the support, realisations and steps you took that brought about the deep transformation in your whole health and wellbeing. It was really interesting as well to hear what the pain specialist said about fibromyalgia – I haven’t heard it said like that before.

  446. It is so inspiring to read how you took responsibility for your healing with the support of both conventional medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue. Your willingness to look at the patterns in your life that had led to you arriving at this very painful point were clear for you to see once pointed out to you but it is the way you embraced this knowing and worked with it that has transformed the way you are in life and the reflection that you offer to others who find themselves in a similar situation.

  447. What an amazing recovery, and not just a recovery but a brand new outlook on life with far greater vitality and commitment in it. The loving commitment to your self has brought us all great returns, thank you for sharing SD.

  448. Thank you so much SD for sharing your story with the world because this condition fibromyalgia causes so many problems for many people and generally the approach in medicine currently is to manage the symptoms and support people to function with the condition. To actually heal the condition and remove the symptoms from the body altogether is practically unheard of. So this is a ground breaking case study in itself.

  449. Never mind ‘like’ this blog, I love it! I can very much relate to what you share about putting everyone else’s needs first and also the negative self thoughts, for me I find is deeply deeply harming. I have found that exhaustion has come for me because of my lack of commitment to life, I don’t commit to loving myself first, this is changing, even within a day of expressing how I feel, not controlling things and loving myself things and the feeling in my body changed dramatically – there was a strength, I was in my body, true love for myself, in that I can’t wait to snuggle up with you, you are amazing way, and a joy. I also find exhaustion comes from reacting to people and the world around me, what I see and feel. If I work on not reacting I have and will have way much more energy and joy, I will feel myself, because I’m not taking on everyone else’s stuff and trying to process it inside my body, it doesn’t belong there, and it’s draining. What I also love is the medical practitioners you had to support you, so often we can be one way or the other for example for or against mainstream medicine or complementary modalities, people often rubbish, one or both of them. But what you have written and from my experience too, they work hand in hand but it is us who have to be open to both and see the value in working with both of them. But more important in this whole thing and something I think you and your second medical practitioner shared, was and is the responsibility we have in our own health, not just going to the doctors to look for a quick fix. I have seen this many times, and also people blaming the system for their illness or disease, when really they are not eating to feel or see the lack of responsibility they have and or are talking for themselves, their health and well being and their life. This comes with no judgement as there are many underlying factors and reasons for this, which obviously it may be a deep sadness in someone they don’t want to feel, choices they have made in the past, or hurts they carry in their body from childhood. But as I am learning taking responsibility for loving our self, our actions, words and thoughts, our health and well being by how we live and the choices we make in every moment of every day, for our lives, makes everything way much more joyful and changes everything.

  450. SD what comes across clearly in this blog was the fact that you did not just look to the medical profession to heal you nor accept that there was nothing else that could be done other than take the pain meds and anti-depressants – this paints a very depressing picture in itself.
Instead you looked at your part in it and sought the aid of Conventional Medicine and an Esoteric Practitioner which is clearly a powerful combination. This just goes to show that looking at illness in a different way and approaching it from all angles can change what we currently know about an illness and disease.

  451. Yours is an amazing story SD. We can never under estimate the power, intention and true intelligence of the human body when it comes to knowing what it needs and to healing itself. My father had a great understanding of the internal workings of our bodies, and I remember him getting very passionate one day, explaining how the body will do everything in its power to heal itself, and will do so much more effectively and quickly given the right conditions. His words were “it’s absolutely miraculous”, and he was absolutely right, for that it is.

  452. ‘And I decided that if words spoken in my mind made me feel bad about myself, then they were simply not from me or the love that I am, they were a learnt behaviour that did not belong to me or my body and therefore I gave them no time – sometimes I would actually tell them to go away – which helped enormously.’ What has been written here SD is practical, simple and yet enormously effective in changing the quality of our thoughts. It takes time and perseverance to say ‘no’ to a way of thinking that can feel so ingrained but it pays off when we one day notice that our thoughts are no longer as harsh as they once were.

  453. Thank you SD for this awesome sharing of the changes experienced in your body by making choices to change your previous ill-choices, that all contributed to your body being incapacitated with fibromyalgia.
It is a joy to read this sentence –
“And yet, here I am today and I no longer have those symptoms, which so tore my life apart.”

  454. An inspiring read on how to never give up – and how much we can heal ourselves when we take responsibility for our own health and well-being.

  455. If we were taught to listen to – and honour – our bodies’ messages at an early stage – illness and disease would be so much less in society than it is today.

  456. A great testimony of the body’s capacity and willingness to heal if we align with what our body recognise as the truth with the help of modalities that are in line with that truth.

    1. I feel there is a great sense of surrendering (to the body) which allows for us to ‘hear’ this truth. Lovely words, Eduardo.

  457. Another inspiring testimony to the benefits of combining western and Esoteric Medicine to your condition. It is particularly inspiring in regards to a condition such as fibrmyalgia as I have watched many people become a victim to this once diagnosed as they are often told it is for life. They then disempower themselves to the fact that if they admit to and take responsibility for their previous choices it is possible to bring change as this blog so clearly shows. Thank you SD amazing!

  458. Wow SD, this is absolutely amazing to read, what a transformation and what a strong woman you are, it is beautiful to read how loving and focussed you were on you’re healing and the work that you put into this and that now you are well and able to support others – truly inspiring!

  459. Very interesting to read SD thank you for sharing. Chronic diseases can feel very disempowering because often you are having them for the rest of your life. It is amazing to learn that there are ways of healing chronic diseases like you shared by taking responsibility for how we are living our everyday life practically and energetically.

  460. The other key component to your healing (I want to write resurrection!) is your engagement. Yes you have leaned on the western and esoteric medical advice, but you have then taken that home and applied it. That is what brings it to life and really makes any kind of medical advice worthwhile. Coming back to you.

    1. So true Simon, support for well-being is only as healing as our own commitment, as you so beautifully say: “bring it to life” – this is always our choice from within.

  461. A true testament to the effectiveness of the combination of conventional medicine, Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy and the willingness to take responsibility for one’s own healing. A great inspiration SD.

  462. Thank you for sharing SD what a fantastic confirmation of conventional and Esoteric medicine working together. I have had Esoteric Connective therapy and it is an amazing modality to high light how tired and exhausted the body is and with this marker start to make true changes in our lives.

  463. It never ceases to amaze me that as we as human beings have very little understanding of this very wise body that has carried us since birth and even though we can often treat it so badly it will keep going for a long time, that is until it finally screams stop. I have found from my own, and often painful, experience that usually well before the scream it has given me many other messages that were simply not heeded. With the wisdom that I have acquired over the last decade that has given me such amazing insight into my wonderful body, I would absolutely love to see children being presented with these insights from a very early age so that they would not have to learn about the fragility of their precious bodies the hard way.

  464. A beautiful example of the body saying ‘Enough with the way you are living’. With the support of Conventional Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy the third element, you, came into play as you took responsibility to be aware of the cause of the pain and to choose a self-loving and self-nurturing way to live.

  465. Someone I know has lived with fibromyalgia for over twenty years and despite attending pain management clinics and receiving Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) still lives largely managing pain, with no clear understanding of the condition. This blog will inspire many still living with fibromyalgia, to know that the condition does not necessarily have to be a life sentence and explore other treatment options.

  466. Thank you, SD. So inspiring to read about your journey and feel your commitment to life. Conventional medicine and Esoteric medicine complement each other so beautifully, but it is our livingness that brings the true healing, and that cannot be replaced by any technique or medicine.

  467. SD this blog presents brilliantly two approaches to responding to a health crisis. Your GP described your experience of fibromyalgia as chronic, life long and prescribed anti-depressants. You could quite easily have given up at this stage and still be living with the condition. Each of the other practitioners, pain specialist consultant, physiotherapist and esoteric connective tissue supported you to understand your condition, body and effects of lifestyle on health and wellbeing. These consultations and treatments deepened your awareness of you and your part in your healing process. A great example of what happens when we take responsibility for our own health and conventional and complementary medicine work together.

  468. Indeed Susan, the standard labelling is in fact an easy way to deal with our issues in life in which we can continue our irresponsible way of living. We then can feel backed up by a system that confirms we cannot do anything about the conditions we are suffering with and that we just have to continue with our lives to the best of our abilities. But when we bring in the point of responsibility and allow ourselves to understand that we may have a bitter pill to swallow for the fact that through the way we have conducted ourselves through life has been the cause for the ailments we are currently living with. But after swallowing this bitter pill magic healing can take place when we make the changes into our lives that will support us to make more healthy choices and with that simply can recover from diseases which where thought to be chronic and for the rest of our lives.

  469. This true story blows completely away the standards conventional medicine is working with SD. We do not need to live the rest of our lives in pain as there is another way we can move and that is to take personal responsibility for our own lives and to make use of both conventional and the complementary medicine such as Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy as being delivered by Universal Medicine and its practitioners.

  470. Very inspiring SD, your story shows that no matter what we may get diagnosed with or what our body is showing us, we can always trace it back to a way of living that has created it. I’ve had pain on off in my body for months now and just this week I could feel how when I don’t deal with my emotional hurts, react to things and allow myself to get overtired, then my body shows me with pain. Our bodies keep it so simple, and give us many opportunities to change our ways and recognise what harms it.

  471. Wow so interesting to know of a condition such as this. It is most telling that you were able to empower yourself and turn your life around. When we are in pain it is very hard to see past it and very easy to give-up. This is a very inspiring blog as it shows how we are able to step off our familiar treadmill by making the necessary changes.

  472. S.D. this is a stunning blog and should be in medical journals and health magazines. Such a transformation from fibromyalgia would have been scarcely heard of. I love the way that you combined conventional/traditionally known medicine with Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy, being open to listen to and assess the things that were to help you so much with what we can only describe as a ‘miracle’, even though such a transformation could well become ‘normal’ if people are as open to healing and change as you are. Congratulations on a magnificent comeback to truth and health and on such an engaging and beautiful blog.

  473. Having lived for many years with someone also diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and through the multi-symptoms – including chronic pain, cognitive function impairment, intense difficulty with sleeping, inability to work, panic attacks… I can well relate to the depth of what you’ve shared here SD. As stated previously, your transformation is absolutely remarkable – such a rounded approach to supporting yourself with the inclusion of Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy alongside allopathic medical treatment cannot be understated, and deserves to be shared far further than here alone.
So many people suffer these conditions, with no ‘light’ at the end of their tunnel, impacting not only upon their own lives, but family members and more also. The fact that we today have therapies that support the choice one makes to heal and address the deeper underlying causes, offering the potential for tremendous change right down to the physical, is absolutely profound.

  474. This is truly transformational and a blog that can inspire so many to view the power of combining conventional western medicine with the esoteric connective tissue therapy. So many people live with conditions that are managed yet you have chosen to go to a deeper level of understanding that has allowed you to heal. Thank you for sharing such a powerful blog on the power of medicine and the potential to truly heal.

  475. Your story is a truly stunning testament to the healing power of combining both complementary and conventional medicine with a deep commitment to taking responsibility for your own health. Your transformation is a beautiful confirmation of the choices you made and a blessing for all who read what is possible.

  476. A stunning blog SD. I have a friend who also suffers from Fibromyalgia and she too has experienced amazing results from Esoteric Healing and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy. The more I read what you had to say, the more I could relate to this nervousness in my life too. When you see the levels of exhaustion going on in people’s lives today, witness the stimulants we feel we need to take, I start to think there will be many more cases like yours until the time we understand rushing around is not the way we are designed to be. I loved how simply you said ‘healing is my responsibility’. It seems like it’s only a matter of time till we all have to face this fact.

  477. This is a truly remarkable transformation SD, thank-you so much for sharing how you have addressed the fibromyalgia and so much more in your life. With so-named chronic conditions such as this, we are called to go deeper within ourselves, aren’t we… That you did not succumb to a potential prognosis of a lifetime of chronic pain, sleep disruption and the rest is deeply inspiring.

  478. I have worked with a few people with fibromyalgia and they all experienced different reactions but one common thread was that consistent gentle exercise was very supportive to their health and wellbeing and the management of the condition. Great SD that you have got to the point where you no longer have symptoms, I wonder how many people might also be able to do likewise.

  479. Thank you for your inspiring sharing SD! I went through the same thing some years back and can vouch for my healing being a mixture of Conventional Medicine and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy also! I know without the amazing support from both Conventional and Esoteric Connective Tissue Therapy Healing I would perhaps still be unable to get up from my bed and live the active life that I now lead. The pain and exhaustion may still have been ruling my life.

  480. In taking responsibility for the medical conditions we have by seeing it is our choice to live in a certain way, it is deeply empowering to know we are able to choose more supportive choices for ourselves. Our body becomes the testimony of our choices.

  481. This is so supportive to read and feel how complete (and beyond) your recovery from the pain and the life patterns that took you there has been with the excellent wisdom of the conventional medical practitioners you saw in combination with the Esoteric Connective Tissue therapy and your own beautiful loving and self holding responsibility.
